What does the Prestige do ?
I mean you get a cosmetic yes.. but whats the point ? I've got my teachable Perks and with the Prestige you loose your Items, Addons and Perks. So is the cosmetic and to flex the only reason to prestige a Surv or Killer ?

Correct

it's one hell of an expensive piece of cosmetic. The advantage is that it's usually BIS for stealthing around.

Wait, when you prestige a character you get a special cosmetic but lose all of their perks? I'm assuming that this means you also start back over at level one and can buy them back when they show up in the bloodweb from having previously unlocked them, right?
1 -
Yeah you start at level 1 again but you can unlock all the teachables you've got from other characters on the blood web.

It also helps increasing the changes of getting high rarity items and add-ons on your blood wed. I don't know by how much tho.

Including your own? If I prestige as Dwight and he is stripped of his original unique perks, but I unlocked them for other characters previously, does prestige Dwight still have the same chance of seeing his old perks in the bloodweb and buying them back?

They will all start back at tier 1 on Dwight if you prestige him and if you've got all the other survivor teachables then it may take a fair few bloodwebs to get them back to tier 3 again.

Prestiege does:

Your Welcome :)

Oh okay, I just wanted to make sure. I wouldn't think that the game would just take away a character's unique perks forever just because they prestiged but the game's got a lot of checks and balances, I figured that it wouldn't hurt to make absolutely sure. I'd rather have the perks than the special clothes. :)
Thank you for the explanation.

@miketheratguy All characters start with their teachables at level 1 regardless of Prestige level. So if you Prestige Dwight, you will get the bloody shirt the first time, pants the second time and the face last. But each time you will automatically have Leader, Prove Thyself and Bond no matter what and now every Survivor can learn those perks as well

It's such a small amount that I didn't even notice the difference until Prestige 3 Level 10 for literally any killer or survivor I've gotten to Prestige 3 (which is 14 killers and 5 survivors).

There’s a chance it increases event items on bloodwebs as well.

That's okay man :). It's basically just like starting all over from the beginning and only having that characters 3 teachables at tier 1 until you go through the blood web.
In all honesty though unless you're going to be making dbd your main game prestiging doesn't really do much else other than give a bloody cosmetic, it says you're suppose to get better add ons and items but I've got all my survivors at P3 and I've honestly never noticed a difference.
