Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

NOED and the hatch are kind of similar

Both of them are avenues to a win (if your definition of a win is an escape or many kills) which are explicitly gained by playing badly. Hatch is an escape for something that shouldn't have been an escape (unless it's in the endgame when everybody else is out), aggravated by keys, and a "counter" is often said to be hooking each survivor 1 by 1, as a very weak incentive against tunneling. NOED can bring you wins for something that should be a loss, and a "counter" is often said to be coordinating an effort to cleanse all 5 totems, in solo queue, as a very weak incentive against "doing generators," which is apparently bad now.

In both cases, you have rewards for losing, like a participant reward that's also a silver medal. I get that these are supposed to help you after a game that didn't go so well, but is that really healthy for the game?

god I don't know why I even try to compromise on this platform this is so stupid and futile

Yes, both reward for losing, but the hatch doesn't necessarily reward bad play, because one survivor can't do all the work. If you loop the killer for two minutes straight, and your teammates spend that time crouchwalking around without doing gens, you're not playing poorly.

Also, the hatch is a far weaker play, since it needs to be found, too, and the killer can cover the map way faster.

NOED doesn't necessarily reward entirely bad plays, either. If you went out of your way to hook each individual survivor, one after the other, so that everybody's on death hook but not dead, then it's not so. But it still remains that they open the doors to a salvage that is way too powerful.
