Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is Brutal Strength Good?

Cause we all know that dbd is about min-maxing time.

So with brutal strength breaking pallets are about %20 faster. The normal time to break down pallets is 2.6 seconds

so 2.6 seconds / 1.20 rate = 2.16667 seconds it takes to break a pallet now. Meaning you saved .43333 seconds

Now consider that most killers move at 4.6m/s and survivors at 4.0m/s:

(4.6m/s-4.0m/s)*.43333 seconds = .26 meters in chase was saved

Let's say you broke 16 pallets in one game. .43333 seconds * 16 pallets = 6.93 seconds

With Brutal Strength you saved 7 seconds max.

Even Sprit Fury + Brutal strength seems to be an unnecessary combo.

Though I could also argue with the new lucky break changes. That half a second is pretty important in not losing the survivor. But currently brutal strength is functionally useless and only "feels good".

While I agree this perk would work amazingly on clown by making looping near impossible. His power already does it well enough, and his map pressure is close to zero. I'd say you should take other perks like ruin and surge to slow the game down instead. I'd still say there are probably better options.

People are talking about how it's useful for pre dropped pallets. I have to say go to your phone timer and actually tap out .5 seconds with the lap button. Cause thats how much time you're saving. Even saying the word "one thousand" takes a little bit longer than .5.

I change my opinion on how useful it is on clown. The perk is straight trash now in my eyes.

I don’t think Brutal Strength is made for time saving, it’s more for zoning. It’s much better in certain killers than others as I think killers that have their counter play as pre dropping pallets would fit well with Brutal Strength. Clown is a perfect example of that and I think Oni could get some benefit from it as well because survivors tend to play safe against Oni in the early game.

With that being said, there are certain killers that benefit from Enduring more and some that benefit from Brutal Strength more as I think both are solid perks.

It is pretty good when stacked with Fire Up, I tried that build and I broke pallets in less than a second when I had 3,4 or 5 stacks and saved so much time in a chase and clears pallets faster

When mixed with something else, such as enduring, its pretty good. However there are other, better perks i could be running.

Those were my same thoughts. But I couldn't think of a situation where you got that extra zoning benefit. You don't save any time if they can reach another pallet connected window or pallet before then.

Though now I'm thinking about how you can use it mid loop. And the survivor is in a bad position. This perk seems more useful on unsafe loops

IMO it is decent on some Killers. I run it on Doctor, Clown and Huntress. Doctor and Clown, because Survivors tend to drop Pallets early against those Killers. And on Huntress, because I dont have any better Perk to run (Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, BBQ, 4th Perk is either Brutal Strength or Nurses, I cannot decide really).

But in my opinion, it is good on Clown and Doctor.

In the early game when the survivors pre drop pallets.

So now that I'm thinking more about it I can see how you can use brutal strength effectively on a mid-sized loop where a survivor will attempt to loop you, but you can catch them off guard and get a quick swing. You could also get 1-2 extra hits you wouldn't normally get with this perk

I'd say you should take other perks like ruin and surge to slow the game down instead. I'd still say you should not take Brutal Strength still

So they pre drop the pallet and you can get your extra hits in. But you still only save .433 seconds how many extra hits do you think you get per game. because of the pre dropped pallets? I understand in terms of running to the next windows that's alot of time saved

It depends entirely on how much you go against players that predrop pallets.

It feels good yes, but does it help you win matches? No not really. I could be wrong, but doesn't it only shave off like 0.2 of a second from kicking or something crazy small?

It’s a good perk for clown I would say, throw a bottle at them and when they throw the pallet down early, break it and then the survivor will be slower and you will catch up to them quickly.

Shadow dance wraith with brutal is good I was doing a build just to kick gens that included brutal strength, tinkerer, overcharge, and unnerving presence and I had my terror radius on with I think it's called beast add on. My terror radius would only go away during tinkerer. On multiple occasions, those poor survivors had such a hard time getting a gen done.

Been saying this forever. When you actually look at the numbers Brutal Strength is quite bad and way overrated. Same can be said for Enduring to a lesser extent.

Brutal Strength is one of those perks where the raw amount of value you can get out of it isn't super high, but you are going to get that value. I wouldn't necessarily say its a great perk but it isn't a bad one.

I used to run Brutal/Enduring when pallet stuns worked now I just run Brutal....I like it because I hate breaking doors.

Brutal is good on paper but in practice is not because 20% of an already small number is a smaller number.

You would pretty much need to break every pallet on the map to get value from it. And if you're breaking every pallet then you are already wasting a ton of time.

I guess you could argue it pairs with pop goes the weasel but even then it's still not worth it imo. There are much better perks.

To your first paragraph: just about every pallet on The Game map is zone-able.

Your second paragraph describes what zoning is. Killer pushes the survivor to an area where the survivor's escape is either to a dead zone or past the killer's radius in order to save the most time before getting hit. If they don't go along with the killer's zone push, they get hit.

Decent. Not the king among perks, but it does its job.

The Game have 20+ pallets and about 10 of them are god pallet. With or without the perk survivor are gonna make it to an other pallet if they know the layout a little bit.
