Keys are overpower-
No, they just suck for everyone. If a situation ever gets so bad that you need to use a key, nobody will benefit, not even the user. Key rework next? Maybe a small unlocking time?

Would old first hook mori be bad if I posted a pic how 4 survivors escaped while I was using it ? Ofc not, it was too strong and needed nerfs as do keys.

Alternatively keys are fine and emblem system is bad. I don't get why killer mains complain with so much passion about stuff that affects them like 1 in 100 matches.
The only thing that should be changed is add like a 5s opening animation so you can't do it right in the killer's face or find hatch accidentally during a chase and escape.

old mori was bad and thats a fact. It was a free win if it was an ebony, while a 4 escape key required all gens to be done anyway. At worst, your rancor or NOED is getting screwed over at that point.

Current keys need nerfs and that's a fact too. They let you bypass gens at a point in game where killer is at the strongest, about to start winning most likely with a 3 gen and boom, you use a key and 3 survivors are out which is the most BS scenario among many other dumb ones.
Nobody reasonable wants to take away key's ability to save 1 survivor, that's fine. The conditions are what's a problem.
Hatch should only spawn once all 5 gens are done or when there is only 1 survivor left alive. That way it's about as good as current mories, you can bypass gates or get 1 free escape at the end. No bypassing gens anymore.

Well the emblems kind of suggest you didn't play that well yourself.
Silver Lightbringer - Normally when you get silver it means you were chased a lot and got points from your teammates doing gens, but you have bronze evader. Means you only did at most a single gen and if you weren't getting chased based on evader emblem then you should have more.
Gold Unbroken - Means you went to dying state at least once this game. Which with bronze evader means you aren't doing a good job at buying time by keeping the busy for a while.
Bronze Benevolent - So I'm pretty certain the default emblem is silver. Which means to get bronze you have to unhook a survivor unsafely or let a survivor die on hook without rescuing them.
A key escape should very easy be at least a black pip. The embelms you have shared with the screenshot kind of suggest that you weren't playing that well to begin with.

It's always survivor's fault with you guys.
I was playing with a friend and the 2 other survivors were playing like trash and throwing. There was no time at all to do gens because of that, and a key was the only way out at that point. I play the game just fine, stop trying to pin blame on me just so you can keep bitching that keys are broken. They're just bad in general.

I don’t like keys either, but as it is the only nerf I can see is being able to use them only in end game, as opposed to one gen left which is really pointless.

Because it doesn't really matter how frequently they choose to use it when it comes to how strong or weak something is? If it is strong, people not using it will not change that. If it is weak, everyone using it will not change that.

Okay bud. Except I loot a skeleton key once every other game. And if I don't loot it, another survivor looted it or a ranger medkit or another very rare item :) This has been the case for weeks now ever since chests became bugged. You must not play this game a lot and/or have no idea what you're talking about and just quoting devs.
If it wasn't for the chest bug, then yeah, I agree, I wouldn't mind them as much. But considering you have a very high chance of getting key outs for playing a 12 hook game or playing smart and defending 3-4 gens against a good team, it is not very cool. Really curious how you came up with the 3% number ;)

I hate keys -_-
I had someone disconnect early in a match yesterday. I was nice, I didn't slaughter anyone, unfortunately the remaining survivors didn't seem to want to interact with me, either. I went to the exit gate so I could open it and at least get those points. The survivors found a key in a chest, and even though they saw me waiting to open the door, they hatched out.
I just wanted a few points. 😢

Keys are the only item in the game as survivor that I keep and make a collection and never use lol. I'd rather use an item that actually offers something in terms of gameplay and not just a free escape if I find the hatch.

Well those 3% must be all my matches, I'm tired of it. I check if he survivors HAVE a key before the match begins. Between today and yesterday, 10 times the survivor picked a key AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE.
Worst part I was trying to practice billy so I was already risking having all 4 of them escape, but they literally used a hatch offering and a key.
Today I was a sent to haddonfield and another dude picked a key at last moment too.
Camping and tunneling is less than what? 5% of all games? yet survivors cry like crazy.

What do you mean nobody benefits from it? The survivor who escaped with the key was literally given a free win that was not deserved and the killer was forced into a big ENTITY DISPLEASED screen.

They don't need to bring key, there's like 90% of finding at least 1 key every single games. I've had game where 2 key got found with only 3 chest. Gotta love the bug.

Funny story about keys.
I was playing a game a few weeks ago and We found a key. one person brought plunderers in too. and two of us got out via the hatch and it was the only way to counter his playstyle because we knew he was just patrolling the gens. we found the hatch and got out. The fun part is this person was streaming and after the game we went in to take a look. This person was a Rank 1 killer too.
This is all we heard.
"Plunderers is BS."
"Keys are BS"
"if they hadn't found that key I would have Killed all of them."
The people I play with put me up against very high ranking killers. and no I don't use them to get wins. the ranks I've gotten I've gotten on my own. It actually puts me at a disadvantage.
Either way this guy was going on and on about if we didn't have this, if we didn't have that. and all of it was BS. That and since he was a rank 1 he knew more about the game then us and he was allowed to complain and we didn't know what we were talking about.
so yeah I know people hate keys but what they really need to do is get over themselves in some cases.

Their ad-ons can be pretty good if you use them, skeleton keys give a lot of usage time compared to broken ones. Otherwise, yeah I see your point.

Literal photo evidence that keys are utterly useless and yet you all still find a way to pin the blame on something else and claim they are still overpowered while whining old moris need to come back. Wait you are trying to say keys are useless because you had a game where you and your team played poorly and you only got an escape because of a key.
That's not right. If anything it shows how dumb keys can be giving players who did nothing to deserve an escape an escape.
Emblems are not the issue people have with keys.

Oh, wait, I missed this post where you show you actually think the pip system is a functional win/lose system. Yeah, it's not, it is completely broken and does nothing. That's why most people go by kills. Because even the Devs have said the pip system doesn't work.

Yeah the pip system is heavily flawed but still the best measurable means of a win or loss. I think the game should be more geared towards kills for killers but right now you get rewarded terribly for 4ks. It all needs major attention

Being a useful teammate and filling whatever roll your team needs gets you a black pip. Throwing the game pips you up. It's not a good system. Kills really is the best way, especially since its a team game.

I agree that its broken but I disagree that piping up means you threw the game.
There's a balance there, but Rank and pips mean literally nothing. Just a ton of players put a lot of value in them. For some reason.

Yeah survivor I think it's harder to judge as a personal win. Escaping or not isn't a great metric for survivor imo while killer having kills or not makes more sense.

I'm not sure that this post really illustrates the issues with keys... if anything it points to a bigger problem with the emblem system that you're forced to take a depip when your team literally kills themselves (which is what OP said happened)

Generally speaking, from my experience, I dont pip up unless I try, and if I try it means I'm not doing what my team needs and we lose

I've had some thoughts on it tbh. I dodge lobbies with keys. So I am on the fence about it though. Reworks etc.. The hatch is a volatile topic for everyone. I dont think my idea is the best solution. But I guess...
Hatch Re-Works Are a difficult topic. Because the Red and pink keys really aren't any different. Maybe if one survivors gets to use the hatch and it re-locks again would be an idea?
Maybe once there is a "last player standing" situation. The hatch is OPEN permanently, and the 2 exit gates can be powered , but the player faces the EXPOSED Status. Might be a solution?
