Why do survivors hate to go against trickster ?

I've been playing trickster a bunch and started to notice that survivors tend to be much more toxic towards tricksters compared to other killers around the same strength. In order to make sure this wasn't just a me i decided to note it in my matches and i collected 100 games worth of notes (All post buff)

13 - Nothing of note

58 - included t-bagging or flashlight clicking (at least 3 per match to be counted)(Any that could reasonably counted as stratigic baiting is not counted)

7 - toxic post game chat ( "Ez game" "get good" "baby killer" personal insults)

22 - t-bagging/flashlight clicking and toxic post game chat

(Note i did not initiate any post game chat in these matches)

87/100 seems unusually high even for the dbd community and im wondering why this is the case. Trickster isn't that bad anymore but he certainly isn't meta either so is he just annoying to go against or am i missing something ? Whenever i go against one i typically have fun so what is it about this killer that brings out the worst in players ?

Would love to hear your opinions on this below and please keep the comments civil

Because sometimes he seems like a failed Huntress who had classes with Old Legion.

I like going against him. He is really fun and puts a new spin on things.

(Not because he is easy to go against but just because I have fun facing him)

Depending on the map he either feels fair or extreme oppressive. Don't know why they decide to be toxic though, just my own experience against trickster and how it is to play against him.

He's a chase focused killer that even when slow at doing so, can down survivors in most loops. Generally survivros just don't like killers like that as they're not as simple to loop as M1 killers.

I don't hate going up against Trickster, I think they are actually fun to go up against if they are decent. But why I think a lot of survivors don't like to go up against him, is due to how I seen a lot tricksters tend to resort to tunneling and camping. I noticed that since there is not many decent, or good ones a lot of them will proxy camp and tunnel. That is why I assume a lot of survivors don't like to go up against him. And yeah a lot survivors get overconfident so that is why you have a high level of trolling toward him, if you will. And he is not like the old legion as some people say. He is easy to loop. Literally the weakest killer, a rock makes his ability worthless. He is definitely the king of short loops. But in most loops his ability is worthless.

Trickster has the same problems as old legion and the same stupid design decisions as old legion. Extremely annoying in the chase department because no matter how god like you are in the game you WILL go down in a certain amount of time which is painfully unfun and being outplayed because the gen was placed in the corner of the map or the only loop you have is a loop where the Trickster can throw over is frustrating. Despite the fact that you can loop him hard around stuff like Killer shack and how he isn't a very good Killer it still isn't fun to play against him.

The problem isn't his own power or anything. It's the player mentality.

Lots of people playing Trickster right now still feel that he is too weak. Because of this, they think it's okay to camp/tunnel more than usual.

I've noticed myself that I've had far more camping/tunneling Tricksters than Bubbas lately.

    Because they can.

Test Nurse on red ranks and you´ll get the exact same results.

The difference is how good you are at her you could be 90%accurate and maybe get 1 or 2 kills compared to nurse with 90%accuracy and get 11 hooks 4k the difference is the situations where their power can be used

Because if he doesn't miss much and he has Melodius Murder or reflecting knives, he's an A tier killer. Super annoying that he's able to keep hitting you with knives in spots where Huntress would not be able to. He's supposed to be this garbage killer but consistently gets kills because his add-ons carry him, similar to Meyers. This feeling is compounded if you're a console player like me and get screwed by bad aim when playing as him.

With testing her, i mean someone who hasn´t mastered her and still needs to learn a lot. Survivors capitalize on that.

    his old legion 2.0

Weak Af, but boring and annoying as hell to go against. In certain scenarios his almost guaranteed to down you but it will take a lot... and I mean probably a lot of time. And that's... fun

    He's annoying to look at.

    He's annoying to listen to.

His greatest skill is annoying to be peck-peck-peck-peck-peck-peck-pecked by.

Upon release everybody chose him way too much.

Every single other killer is more interesting.

He sucks and is worthless and I hate him.

    He is easy to bully.

Any killer that is easy to bully gets the same treatment.

Personally, I don't, but that's because I've yet to go against a Trickster that actually knows what they are doing. Speaking as a Trickster that knows what they are doing, at least better than most, it's because his counterplay is uninteractive on both sides and no matter what you are going to go down relatively quickly. It exists, to be sure, so he's not quite Deathslinger, but he's close.

I hate his laughing, his chase music and the weird lightsaber noise he makes. Also PTSD from trying to adept him before the emblem fix.

    Still rank him above Spirit.

That's probably just toxic survivors being toxic rather than you being trickster. Though they probably felt alot more cocky to do so with him

However he does seem like he could potentially be similar to old legion which every survivor hated for good reasons to be fair. He's the kind of killer where he will eventually get you no matter what, it just takes an incredibly long time

Probably because he's another Killer you can't really drop pallets on/vault windows without taking a health state. 60 knives on a basekit which is about 8/9 healthstates if he manages to land every hit which isn't too hard now since he can just keep up with you with his faster movement speed. Then he has main event on top of that which is more spam. Then if you do manage to avoid him the laceration decay timer got buffed so that takes even longer and he only has to land one hit to stop that.

On the other hand we have a Huntress who only gets 5 health states on a basekit and actually requires some skill to land a hit then has to reload.

Like I said when they buffed him. He needed a nerf in another area if you're going to make him that fast to keep up with survivors. All they had to do was lower his basekit and he would of been a more balanced killer. But yeah that's BHVR in a nutshell they can't balance anything. This is why Pyramid Head is another Killer with a spammy power that people don't want to play against.

Edit: Also I should state before people think that I think he's op. He isn't, he's just annoying to go against in a chase and he needs better map pressure for his design than another Killer with a spam power. But i've also gone against a lot of Rank 1 Tricksters and they're really good players.

Personally, I don't have a big issue with him. Trickster is a terrible concept, but the devs already made him so we're stuck with it.

That said, I think most people just find it ridiculous that we have a CoD-style AK47 wielding character.

He's incredibly weak and also unfun to play against. A complete waste of time.

In the average trickster game, almost no one is having much fun. The killers isn't because trickster is horrible to play with and weak. The survivors aren't because chases boil down to either "I can't get hit at all here" or "I cant physically dodge any of the knifes due to the small loop".

Trickster is just a massive joke, and no one's laughing

Tbh I've NEVER, really, never seen a trickster not camping or tunneling since release. Probably because it's the easiest way to get kills since he's weak, one of the reasons why I don't like going against him. 2nd is that, in alot of the reworked map the loops are shorts and trickster can just shoot you over it and there is litteraly no counter.
