GF Build idea

Here's my build idea:

Make your choice

Dark devotion

Thrilling tremors

Starstruck

For add ons I'm thinking two that boost his speed while crouched so you could zoom around less detectable back and forth from the hook but idk

I think this could have some serious snowball potential if you manage to hook the obsession early on.

I only thought of it for GF because I have almost no good perk combos and was thinking of what would pair well with one or more of his teachables.

Thoughts? Anyone tried it before?

Looks bad. Starstruck is worthless without agitation / infectious if you want consistent value. I think it’s only good on someone like nurse who can pick someone up and drop them and still be fast enough to get to the infectious proc. Or like doctor with calm addons to cover the entire map with it before a static blast.

Make your choice on a low mobility killer who already has a 1 shot. You won’t even find them half the time.

Dark devotion for undetectable on a killer who’s power is going undetectable?

    And thrilling tremors is decent.

If you have no good perks I’d just go with sloppy butcher, thrilling tremors, I’m all ears, NOED / whispers.

Playing a low mobility killer without either corrupt or discordance is a sad day. You basically concede a gen or two each game if the team is good because on some maps 3-4 people will spawn on a gen and it’s done before you can even initially patrol the gens.

The idea with MYC and DD is so you can have your 1 shot and save your power for mindgaming chases instead of trying to mark people. The Starstruck and Thrilling tremors combo is to throw survivors off their game by closing off objectives and also leaving them vulnerable, forcing them to go for the save and activate the other combo.

I suggested speed addons for crouching to help with his mobility and mindgaming.

Also, NOED is for ******* who can't chase. There's some builds that are focused entirely on endgame that use it I can respect but just running it without any synergy to anything else is lame.

I mean love it or hate it NOED is a good perk, certainly better than dark devotion. It’s not spammed in tournaments because it’s bad.

No real point in using crouch speed addons over recovery. Especially if you are doing the lazy mans mindgames with shroud. I personally moonwalk anyways out of habit even if I’m undetectable.

If you hardly plan on stalking, wraith is just straight up better than ghostface at this point. Like, way better.

And thrilling is not “throwing people off objectives” it’s just a tool to figure out where to go next. By the time you hook whoever you picked up it’s usually half way over.

Sloppy butcher is probably his best snowball perk and you will get value every game instead of using finicky 1 shot perks that are significantly better to use on wraith.

NOED is only a good perk if you're only playing against rank 16-20. It's practically useless against good survivors and a wasted perk slot against very good survivors or decent swf teams.

You still have to moonwalk with shroud on btw and it's a good strategy, tru3 pretty much uses it solely for chase.

You should never underrate a perk just because it's not used frequently. Time and again underrated perks are only underrated because no one puts two brain cells together to figure out how to strategize with them.

At this point I'm convinced you're just trolling.

Thrilling is a great perk, I'd keep it, and Starstruck is a bit situational and considering GF can already insta-down by default he doesn't really need it. Starstruck is better for killers that can't necessarily insta-down, like Wraith, Nurse, Clown, and Slinger. Also MYC and Devotion seems pretty obsolete because as I said, insta-down. Oh and stealth power.

I would use Corrupt and Pop + Surge/Oppression or Ruindying, and maybe BBQ to replace Thrilling if you want tho I prefer Thrilling unless you want those bloodpoints. Nurse's is also a great choice.

Also I don't recommend crouch-speed add-ons, recovery add-ons or faster mark add-ons are a lot better for GF.

You said it was good then you said it was bad. Wut.

NOED in general is a mediocre perk and is heavily situational, it's just annoying to go against but eh who cares. NOED is only good for beginner players imho unless you're running an endgame build.

My main reasoning was that against good survivors you're either not going to get anyone marked before they expose you or they're going to just outloop you before you can down them if they're marked. Marking good survivors is also so dependent on the rng of the map tiles that spawn. Some maps will spawn really good tiles for maintaining cover while you approach and for providing a good angle for stalking from peeking around a corner but more often than not you won't get those good tiles on a lot of maps. Autohaven has a lot of good tiles for him but a lot are awful.

For this reason it's best to save shroud for mindgaming in chase and building up as much pressure as possible by using perks that double as his power and when used in a combo put pressure on survivors. Tremors and starsruck together put pressure on survivors, whereas on their own they're kind of meh. Dark devotion and MYC together give you an edge so you don't need shroud for getting downs, and those two combos together can put tremendous pressure on survivors and can tilt them since if you start to snowball them you've effectively doubled or tripled your base abilities which are stealth and one shotting. It's all about putting pressure n survivors in ways they're not used to.

It's about how they all work together in combination.

Ruin is always a toss up but is definitely strong, but survivors also know how to deal with it. Pop/opression is a good meta combo too but I'm trying to think outside the meta a bit.

I see. Non-meta builds, I can sense big D energy rn. I respect ya.

I suppose Starstruck is a great choice in that case, but I'm quite neutral on Dark Devotion and MYC. You can combine Starstruck w/ Agitation if you want.

Haunted Ground + Retribution is a pretty good combo tbh, might work well with GF's stealth. Survivor cleanses 1/2 of the HG totems, Retribution pops and shows the auras of everyone, cloak into stealth mode, then WHACK a survivor down.

Surge is also a pretty good perk for gen-regression. And Mindbreaker punishes survivors for forgetting to wipe after shitting themselves when they see you stalking them. Bitter Murmur and Rancor are also decent non-meta perks that allow tracking (Use one of the two). Also if GF is in stealth mode his aura won't show to the obsession with Rancor. Not sure about Murmur though.

Aaand that's bout all I've got tbh. Good luck!

Uhh I was being sarcastic? It’s literally used by tons of “top DBD” players who are competing for money. It’s basically used on every killer that isn’t nurse.

I think it’s really cheesy but to call it weak? That’s a bit crazy.

It gives you the option to spend literally 5 gens killing 1 person and still win the game. If the survivors scrape into the endgame with 2-3 people left it’s condemning. At the worst it’s a totally free kill most of the time.

Sure you don’t need it, but if skill based matchmaking was implemented I’m sure you would see it all the way up to rank 1 quite often. The game is designed for survivors to make it to the endgame.

The sarcasm wasn't obvious enough to me, apologies. I didn't know tourney players used it either, wow. My bad.
