Should killers have a basekit regression?

Hello. How's everyone? I hope you're well and if yo're able, to get vaccinated soon.

What do you think about the killer having a 2% regression just after kicking a generator?

My thinking about the question:

I am asking for a basekit regression due to the nature of the game 1 vs 4, since it takes 2 secs of the killer time (without add-ons or perks) to kick a generation, I think it's a bit unfair for him that the generator loses a 0,25 charges per second when a survivor can undo it in a single second, literally. Basically, the killer's time is valuable since kikcing a gen is time off-chase (and I don't want to sound like a red rank but let's be honest about it) and you need 4 secs in order for it to regress 1% which as I said, the survivor can do that in a single second... needless to say the gen tapping, a survivor just touching a gen by 0,25 secs already stops a regression, yet the killer needs to ait two seconds until the generator starts regressing

In those two seconds if survivors are scattered and working on gens separately they can progress a 6% of the match It takes 42 seconds (6 seconds to kick three gens and 36 to regress a 6%) of the killers time to undo that without talking about traveling.

P.S: I am just counting it like only three are working on gens).

P.P.S : And yes, I know technically is not 42 secs but it takes you 6 secs and the next 36 ones to avoid survivors touching a gen.

No, killers already have tons of slow-down perks and add-ons.

Its a big ol' maybe for me, since I feel like there's some variables we need to consider

For me yes, killers need an efficient basekit regression.

I mean, for the lower tiers killers, it's hard for them to win without having a solid top tier build. Killers should be able to use any decent build.

I don't know if what you proposed is the right solution, but I'm 100% for a decent basekit regression.

I'd love for either this, or making it so that a survivor stopping regression takes as long as a killer kicking a gen. Kind of BS that a survivor can do a 1 frame animation mid chase to stop regression when a killer needs 2-3 seconds to kick

I think just making regression when you kick a gen faster would be fine, like .5 seconds of progress lost per second. Obviously Ruin would be nerfed to compensate, though.

There definitely need to be something. But it shouldn’t get too operative for the casual survivor crowd or too strong on the already super viable killers.

Some small bonus regression with every kick (2 or 3%) would be nice, so it would be counterproductive for the survs battling for a gen with the killer (repeatedly kicking and tapping a gen).

Alternatively, give survivors a small channeling action to remove regression, similar to the killer, so it cannot be removed with a tap while being chased. The channeling action should only be required if gens were manually kicked, though, so that it does not stack with ruin (that would be overbearing).

No. I think thats the point of learning other killers, to get the perks that they provide. That or hoping the shrine provides.

I suggested this idea on a commentary a while ago, but I have put 5% insta regression. 2% isn't gonna do much unless they keep tapping the same generator. Having a considerable regression as 5% would be an incentive to kicking generators, specially since it takes sometime to do it.

Killers should be given free Ruin in tournaments, but in a standard game no player should receive passive perks.

Yes, but survivors need communications. And without the latter hell no.

I don't think the regression should be automatic, but once initiated with a kick, it should be at 50%. *This is half the rate at which the lowest Tier of Ruin provides. This would make stopping to kick Generators worthwhile even if you don't have Ruin or Pop (but better if you do). I consider the Killer having to initiate regression a better compromise than having it base kit.

I feel like that no matter how much you slowed down the gens or added baseline regression, people are still going to overuse these gen defense perks given how central they are to the game's premise.

And given a ######### player like myself can still beat 2/3rds the teams I come across WITHOUT using gen defense as part of his standard perk layout, I feel like this is isn't the best idea.

provided this 2% doesn't stack with other gen regression perks
