Depressing is the best word to describe current billy. 90% of the community seemed to agree that insta-saw was BS, but otherwise, billy was the gold standard for balance in DBD. Then overheat was added to punish feathering and add further downsides to engravings. And his FOV was #########. And his animations were #########. And all of his other add-ons turned to garbage, maybe with the exception of lopro chains
Curving and feathering took a lot of skill to pull off, and was already punishing on its own right before the changes. BHVR found a way to nerf all the high skill stuff with billy and leave him so that backrevving, his most braindead strategy, is pretty much your best option with him much of the time.
There's a good reason you hardly ever see a billy anymore. All the fun and skillful play has been removed from him. Want mobility? Blight's way better. Want insta-downs? Bubba is so much easier to play and so much less punishing. Want mobility and insta-down? Oni is just a much better version of the same killer. It used to be debatable before, but Oni is easily the stronger killer now. Billy used to be the best console killer, but if Oni is considered A tier by the community in general, you can't say billy should be even close to the same level anymore. He belongs in B or C tier

I used to main Billy but my god it's so ######### difficult to enjoy him now, it's not even worth it. If I want a killer that can curve (normal flick) and go fast, I'm sticking with Blight.

Billy used to be fun but now if feels like my wins are earned because I either have to basement patrol or m1 Billy
Personally I was a spark plug addict just because it was the perfect amount of charge time to get nice flicks at jungle gyms
I agreed that insta saw should go but now if you get an indoor map you legit have now power the only thing he has going is mobility
And now the over heat I cant even feather without overheating

Never mained Billy but they did him dirty with the rework, his overheat mechanic is fine because it incentivizes resource management and gives him another layer, but his addons are deplorable and his chainsaw reworks feel uncomfortable to use

Since his nerf, i moved to bubba. Rest in peace our boy billy :(

Cant play him anymore not just because of his nerfs but also because I hated his VFX changes to his chainsaw and his roar. I also hate almost all of his new add ons except maybe lopro chains. I also would like to note that before his change I ran him almost exclusively add onless with the exception of drift king which is now dead because bhvr hates fun.
