Why does everyone like playing meg, nea, feng and claudette
I just keep seeing those same survivors over and over and im like where are the janes, jeffs, etc. Most people would probably say because of their toxic looking cosmetics or being able to blend into the environment

Meg is awesome and deserves the amount of mains she has. I do wish Yui had more mains though.

I like to play Kate because of her ass and Elodie because of her wonderful scream that sounds like music to my ears :)

Because those are the free chicks? The other free survivors are male, and the rest cost some form of currency to unlock. Many players prefer female survivors because they are smaller (take up less of the screen, easier to hide).

Meg: Usually everyone's first survivor, considering all of her perks are good.
Nea: No0b3
Feng: She's cute and attracts most gamers. Also she's a gamer girl.
Claudette: Same as Meg, except people (including me) thought Self-Care was a good perk. Bot and Empathy are pretty decent though. Also she has the darkest clothing, so that's a plus.

Ditto.

They're all free (Feng is free on console), and female survivors are better for stealth purposes.

Meg, Nea and Claudette are free.
Feng is cute and has popular cosmetics.
All of the above share a small female model that helps them stealth and more advanced things like the inside tech.

jane and jeff, dont have nearly as many cosmetics as the others you mentioned, and Claudette is cute (not the new version tho, sad face), and female survivors tend to be easier to hide with, tho i think they have louder moans of pain if i remember

It felt better controlling a smaller playermodel. Using one of the males just felt clunky after getting used to Meg, Nea, Feng etc.
3 -
I have everything unlocked on nea

They are shorter and harder to see.
On the game i can see male heads over some of the structures and throw trixter knives at them but i can't see the females.

I'm gonna create a ruckus
They are all hot so us gamers main them

They're free helps alot. Lots of cosmetics is another point on their favor. Lastly Jane and Jeff are ungodly loud.
0 -
The girls just have better cosmetics honestly.

Because they're female survivors, female survivors are objectivity more popular. And...they're free, well feng is free on console at least.

I run feng cause she a gamer and the fact she competitive like me.

Starter Survivors with the meta perks, just usually means they are the first to have a majority of load out options

Because Meg Nea Clau are default survivor?
A new player forced to play the same 7 survivors. Usually they will attracted to a character they play for a while, and main happens.
I wish Devs only give Trapper and Dwight as default for playable on both side, remove other 6 survivors and 4 killers. Give new player 45.000 shards so they can get any characters they want. From there the diversity will gain

I play Jane, we exist~

I began by maining Dwight, Meg, Claudette and Nea because those were the free characters that I felt had the most useful perks for my playstyle. Now that I've begun prestiging and teaching perks between characters I find them mostly interchangeable except for Meg, who I like playing the most because I find her cute.
When I start building up extra BP I'll move onto other characters like Jeff and Kate, etc.
0 -
Because most players aren't good enough to handle Jeff /s
3 -
meg has good perks and shes one of the OGs
nea because of no0b3
feng because most people have an asian fetish? idk
claudette because self care and blendette

I play Nea the most because of the lore and cosmetics. As an artist I just kinda connect with her I guess. I'd probably be a Jeff main if he had some cooler cosmetics because I also really connect with his lore.
Feng has some cool looks and was my first survivor so I play her a lot too.
I also play a lot of Felix because I like his look and imo he's kinda hot lol
2 -
Mainly because they are free and attract newer players
We need more Jeff mains though

Everyone doesn't.
Meg and Claudette are free so a lot of people start with those survivors.

Several reasons:
- smaller (which I would say is not the main reason, I would guess, otherwise we would not see so many colorful cosmetics used)
- free, so people are most likely starting with one of those Characters
- better Cosmetics than male Survivors, at least in my opinion, females get more cosmetics and prettier ones, so you have a larger variety and more chance to be unique with your looks
- Old Characters, players who are playing for a longer period of time will most likely play those characters for a while and they are less likely to main another Character, because they would need to get all Perks again.
1 -
I play Claudette because she is the superior stealth character, and thats my playstyle. You can do it with others too, i do play Jeff that way, but since killers use brightness filters to cheat on visibility, you have to take the edge.

Bunny ears go flippity flop.
2 -
Maybe because they are free, I main Meg though even if i have other survivors.

The reason Claudette is popular is this:
There is a Claudette in this picture.
6 -
Being the first survivors played and we got to know the game with kinda reserves a spot for some as survivors we want to play well with and keep alive and fight harder for rather than a loud grunting man or some other unfamiliar sound byte.
Also when I go down and see survivors standing around the scream Meg makes matches how I feel to a T.

"toxic looking cosmetics"? Tf? Since when were items of clothing considered toxic? You people have an extremely unhealthy obsession with this word I swear.
4 -
Female characters are smaller and easier to hide in plain sight with. Also female characters, lets face it, have the best cosmetics.
0 -
A combination of factors.
- Those four are some of the oldest playable Survivors. This is meaningful for multiple reasons.
If you started in 2016, you had a 60% chance to have your first Survivor be Meg, Claudette, or Nea. If you start in 2021 you still have around a 42.06~% to pick one of them as your first Survivor, unless you're on console or you buy DLC right off the bat.
Streamers probably play one of these characters too. People are more attracted to characters they recognize. If you've watched someone play Nea a couple times, you're probably going to pick her to play as - assuming you're new to the game.
- They are all free.
- They are all female; which is relevant because it gives an advantage.
All Survivors have one of two character models, and the female one is smaller. In a game about evading from an unstoppable Killer, being a tiny bit smaller and shorter can make a big difference.
It also doesn't hurt that being smaller makes it easier to 360 out of the Killer's FOV, crouch under their FOV, or see where you're headed in chase.
There's also the fact that this is a slasher horror game.
Any horror nerd worth their salt can probably name 6 or 7 Final Girls. And even people only tangentially aware of slasher films know the gist of the Final Girl trope.
By contrast, how many of you can name a Final Boy that isn't either Tommy Jarvis or Andy Barclay?
And do you think anyone unaware of Child's Play or not intimately aware of Friday the 13th will know who those two are?
- They all have perks that are attractive to newer players.
Meg has one of the strongest teachable perk loadouts in the game. Claudette has Self-Care and a perk that tells you when and where your teammates get hurt as well as a perk that speeds up Self-Care and makes healing your teammates easier. Nea has Urban and an Exhaustion perk. And Feng has Alert and an Exhaustion perk.
- And all of those characters also receive a large amount of cosmetics. IIRC Meg has almost 100 skins, and Nea, Claudette, and Feng all have over 50.
Cosmetic variety is going to attract players and the odds of having a cosmetic someone likes enough to buy goes up the larger your amount of cosmetics.
And because people buy the cosmetics BHVR is going to keep making them.
----
TL;DR ::: It's advantageous to play as them and they're popular characters with good base perks and a lot of cosmetics.
It's something of a miracle you ever see anyone else.

cause they are sexy as hell

enough said.

I'm a killer main and I think it's gross that well know streamers even use brightness filters. I don't know why folks have difficulty with this whole concept of cheating and what it is. Turning down your graphics quality on top of using filters is....cheating.

smaller frame plus usually darker clothes = easier to hide
since stealth is a pretty useful tool in this game a lot of people generally play the female characters to make this a lot more effective
0 -
They just feel alot more easier to control. When I play as any male character I just feel as if he's not moving fast enough and that he takes up so much screen space. Most of the female characters back story are also presented with the idea that they're pretty athletic too so it kind of drives the mind set that they move faster than others.
0 -
Because they like staring at ass while running from a killer
0 -
They're all cuties except for nea.
I'm not sure why more people don't play Kate as well, she's fiiiiine.
0 -
Probably for the cosmetics. Plus, female survivors are able to hide better within the environment than their male counterparts. And as someone else said, they are free to play as.

I've been seeing a hell of a lot of fengs when I play killer for some reason.

😟 k
0 -
Because they're filthy casuals.

for me thats because i never really bothered putting points into anyone that wasnt Claudette, as they are all just reskins.

They are like the symbol of pros

I'm pretty sure Feng is also free on some platforms.

Nea has the closest thing to 'edgy' street clothes for the female characters.
Meg is an OG character. Once the graphics update comes out she'll actually look cuter too which will boost people playing her.
Feng is the OG Asian girl and admittedly has some pretty adorable cosmetics. And with her Technician skill she's a great starter for people learning to hit the skill checks.
Claudette is Blendette. She's also arguably got the most grating female scream which I've known some people to choose for that reason.
Personally, I am surprised there are not more Kate players. She's got some really fantastic cosmetics (some of her Rift clothes, like the sweater with the backpack, are adorable) and her sounds are a lot less obnoxious, though that's subjective. She's also got a pretty awesome backstory and has total Final Girl vibes. I suspect that once we get her graphics update and she's 'hotter' we'll see more of her.

I started playing Dbd in Nov 16. I remember one Dev Stream where a girl who looked like Claudette sang a song with a guitar. I was impressed and since then Claudette become my main. Sometimes I play someone different of course, but she's my main, my rootes. And she has the most items/the biggest inventory.
Call it.. emotional reasons.
