Custom icons/perks bannable?
Title... i think they look great and want to get some, but i wonder if it's bannable

From what I remember bhvr won't ban for custom icons, but easy anti cheat can ban you permanently if you mess up.
So it's your own risk if you want to do it.

The official statement is that they won't manually ban anyone for doing so, but also won't help you if the anti-cheat picks it up and bans you. So a 'use at own risk' sort of deal.
I use custom icons myself, have done so for months and haven't been banned.
If you're looking for a good place to find icon perks, the subreddit PerksByDaylight is a great start. I personally can recommend the Nebula and Glacial Pack by EvaZioNe. Very aesthetically pleasing :)

It's just a disclaimer. I haven't heard of anyone at all get banned for using icons. Like I said, I've been using them for months with no issue, and so has many big streamers.

No, you can't get banned. Devs said they don't ban, anti cheat doesn't check the folders were the perks are.

EAC can decide to ban for custom icons at any time. They (probably) do not do so currently, but that doesn't mean that won't ever change.
There used to be a whitelist of things that are allowed but that no longer exists (at least I can't find it). If it's not whitelisted and it interacts with the game files / folders, which custom perks do, then it's a grey area and you use it at your own risk. If EAC decides to ban for it the ban won't be reversed.

Its is at your own risk but when I got my custom icons set up I downloaded the dead by daylight icon toolbox, from there your given whole range of icons to choose, choose the one you want, and for some reason when I logged onto dbd it worked

It's one of those things that can happen because you're technically altering game files, but it won't ever happen, if that makes sense. People have been using custom icons for years, myself included, and we will never get banned for it. BHVR don't care and neither do EAC.

They're a use at your own risk. We do not recommend tampering with files.
