Why are cosmetics more costly than characters?
I see the new cosmetics added today in the Crypt TV Collection and notice that each one costs 3x's as much as a character...
Really? I was actually wanting to get Dr. Looksee, but ffs I could buy 3 new characters with that.

characters are needed for diverse gameplay while skins are there for people that get bored.
They are not needed but people seem to pay anything to change things up and look different.
I have noticed that default skins have been quite ugly/ bright while the skins that release on day one for new characters are always better and usually dark.

That's... not a reason for a skin to cost more than a full character that has not only a skin, but a unique model, animations, and gameplay mechanics.

Because, in order to have every character you have to spend money. If every character was 20 dollars way less people would buy new characters. Cosmetics aren't necessary, they're something you can buy to enhance your own personal enjoyment but you don't need them.

At least you can buy them with shards. Really cool for licensed characters. Makes me wonder what the contract for them was.
I bought Doc but was 6000 shards short so I bit the bullet. It's a really cool skin.
