So, tinfoil hat time about the Year 5 banner.
Ever since last year when we got the year 4 banner that was a obvious hint to Pyramid Head(even though I didn’t believe it so that’s some egg on my face) I’m just going to throw out a tinfoil hat speculation on the Year 5 one.
Like last year, I think the 5 could be another hint to something. Maybe it’s a tentacle which could hint at Nemesis? Maybe it could expand or shrink it into a weapon? I’m not quite sure to be honest. If I had to go with anything, I think it might be the “tentacle theory” but, what do you all believe? I could VERY possibly be looking at this and being far too much like Charlie from that one scene from IASIP but, after the year 4 banner... I’ll never look at it the same way again! xD

Looks more like a hook to me, like a pirate hook hand. Not sure if RE has any hook-wielding killers, I’m not terribly familiar with that series besides playing the first one back on the PS1. :D

ii think they are trying to fool us to think the banner has something to do with the new killer.
i think they are doing the opposite from last year. what I mean is that they want us to look very closely instead o it being in plain sight

Well, if this is the case then, sadly, this (probably) means absolutely nothing because the skull with black tar is just the same one used last year. Which, I don’t mind because, if that really is the case, they’ll probably make some cryptic hints about it on their Twitter(s) or in some other post. So, no matter what, if this banner has no teaser, they’re coming eventually.

At this point, if it is a hint, it’s either hinting at RE3 or RE8 both respectfully being Nemesis or one of the daughters. For now though given BHVR’s history, I’m gonna go with RE3.

I can't see them using the DLC to shill some minor antagonists from an unreleased game, characters that may not have even been revealed to the public by the time the collaboration deal with Capcom had been made. They could definitely have some interesting gameplay though, moreso than Mr. X.

I think if it's hinting at anything, it's Nemesis and the original RE3 boxart. They did promise us "impressive stars that will blow your minds" on New Years Eve, and that doesn't suggest RE8. Unless they chose Chris as the RE8 representative instead of Ethan. That would kind of work.

I mean, if they used Resident Evil as a diversion for Candyman, I am honestly going to praise their PR team. But so far it seems to be Resident Evil. I still hope they add in Candyman one way or another tho, especially since they had so much contact last year. Perhaps he will be the Halloween release instead(I hope).

Part of the 5 is slanted... like an X. So clearly it's refering to Mr. X
But... you also have the 5 looking a lot like a rocket launcher, which means it's Nemesis.
Or it could be that the 5 looks like a Fang, and Lady D is a vampire which is what the 5 is actually implying.
The 5 is oddly shaped. Know what else is oddly shaped? Zombies. That's what it represents. The killer is a Zombie.
The 5 also looks like a tongue, so clearly it's a licker
The 5 looks like something in some images of Wesker too. So it might be him.
Or I suppose the 5 is the five fingers Saddler holds out in Resident Evil 4

I hope it would be classic RE too, but Stars doesnt mean Nemesis lol.
A star could be the trickster. A star could be Chris, Jill, Rebecca, Albert Wesker, Barry.
Nemesis is an anti-star. It will hurt a lot of RE fans, but RE8 is the best choice concerning marketting purposes.

re8 doesn't need marketing lol, and if it's anything compared to Silent Hill, it most certainly will be something from the classics.

You miss the point. Marketting main objective is to make money. Re3 is one of the worst in term of sales.
Re8 will be the greatest success. If Capcom takes a percentage on sold cosmetics / DLC. Which characters would you sell ?

The chapters been in works for longer than when the announcement came in, which means they were already working on who they would be bringing in...
Which would mean they had no reference material to work with if they were going for RE8 related stuff.

Personally speaking, a lot of the RE8 characters are quite low on my RE killer totem poll. It’d still be very cool because it’s RE but, I’m sorry, those characters just don’t really do much for me. Like I’ve been saying though, I’d still ultimately be very happy because it’s RE but I’d MUCH rather see one of the big classic RE monsters/BOW’s come into the game.

Off-topic, but why not?
There could be a mechanic whereby a number of mirrors are set up around the map and if Candyman is chasing a teammate/tunnelling/camping and you want to draw him to your location, you stand opposite the mirror and recite his name 5 times and he's forced to teleport to you.
