when will chat filter be optional?

It’s been confirmed by a mod that this is not intentional behavior and the team will adjust the filter to never filter out names of character and such.

Can you quote the comment so I can see it?
So if it is not intentional behavior, why are people getting upset that I'm saying it isn't normal?

You are right here in this forum, saying x and y has been debunked on x and y threads, why are you not linking them so we all can see it?

Just stop please, your just making drama of yourself and your beginning to sound like Sluzzy!?
1 -
LMAO OH HONEY.
Where have I been overly offended or even slightly offended in this thread? Please refer me to that post as I clearly blacked out when typing it as I have no memory of it. I’m also not making assumptions about YOU, I’m talking about everybody who uses the chat and giving you VALID reasons as to why the chat CENSORS certain things.
Isn’t a little ironic to say I’m being overly offended whilst also being overly offended?
Welcome to the DBD forums folks.

Sluzzy confirmed!

I can try and look for it.
the system was also confirmed to be adjusting, getting harsher the more you use filtered words. Myers for example was proven to not get filtered by multiple people.
2 -
As you can see from what Mooks said, random names being censured isn't intentional, and hopefully it is being looked into.. So how are you "valid" by assuming I use profanity in chat when I'm saying random names get censured? I feel like you're just trying to get attention at this point.

It is inconsistent. I used the word "hawkins" twice in just one end game chat and it was censured once, and the other time was fine. Sometimes even using typing it hawkins vs Hawkins it can get censured or not.
Thanks, I have not seen that comment yet and I'm curious to see what their explanation was on the topic

PLEASE show me the post of me saying that YOU PERSONALLY use profanity in the end game chat? I’ll wait.
Stop being so overly offended!!!1111

Hope I linked it right..

You did thank you.
Hasnt been said long ago so I hope they find a fix for it even though imo it's not a priority.
0 -
Yeah, it’s probably not priority and they are not fixing it in one go.
it will get further adjustments based on feedback, pretty sure that was stated as well but I won’t be able to find comments on that.
2 -
It's alright thank you.
I wish comments like these would be made more available, maybe a tweet where they'd mention on what they're looking for feedback on, instead of a lost comment on a thread.
0 -
Agreed on that at least
the way they did it for the UI changes and OoO proposal was better IMO.
they had dedicated threads on the forum in the Feedback and Suggestions section.

This is no place for arguments, lord tony threads are supposed to be joyful occasions where the community comes together to cyberbully him
2 -
Ya, it's the basis right now with people who are Sluzzy having trouble with the nurse and spirit and then they want no chat filter I hear you Lord Tony.
1 -
You aren't helping anyone by accusing everyone you don't agree with of being Sluzzy, you understand that right?
1 -
Maybe because they are complaining about it and it's giving me a lot of headaches :D
0 -
It's possible that we are all sluzzy, in our own way
2 -
Or an Ignore/Block User feature like most forums have.

The chat filter is such a non issue.
I've seen maybe on end game chat where something was filtered. Otherwise usually no one says anything or you get a few "gg"
1 -
oh my god. thank you for blessing me with lord tony twitch
1 -
Never thought I'd be agreeing with a Lord_Tony post...
But yeah, let people have it on if they want. And let others have it off if they want. It's not a hard concept.
If someone is offended, they can have their chat censored.
Since I'm not offended, I would like to have my chat uncensored.

??????????????????????????????
I clearly said I want the filter to be OPTIONAL.
If the filter is off for me but on for them then how can I be toxic and insult them if the chat is censored to them?
I never said to turn the filter off for both sides. I want the filter off FOR ME
0 -
They won't
This is one of their measures of curbing the 'toxicity' of the DBD community
Out of sight, out of mind - I guess?

I don't mind the chat filter filtering out any sort of racial slurs or homophobic/derogatory terms! But I do agree that the filter has started to go a little far in it's censorship, as I've had it censor out curse words for me that were not being rude nor derogatory towards anyone. (I mean, unless suddenly me telling my team/the killer in post game chat that 'I eat booty' (obviously using the curse word for it) is rude or derogatory now. I always just did it as a joke though.)

Well first they said that it would also censor slurs. That was a lie.
They said it wouldn't censor profanity. That was a lie.
It censors even normal words.
The least they could do is make the filter OPTIONAL so that us normal people can have the filter off but people who want it on can have it on.
it makes zero sense for it to not be optional.
