Honestly new coldwind is miserable to play on
The map is incredibly bright compared to any other map in the game. I understand that they wanted to go in the direction where the map was bright, but you literally can barely see aura's from bbq. Not only that, but it feels like they added too many los blockers so it ends up killing ranged killers along with the stalky corn where you literally can't tell the direction a survivor is going in so you are going to be completely guessing when you are sniping. Old coldwind it wasn't much of a problem to snipe survivors on because you could actually see. Add the fact that it makes it absolutely miserable to track survivors on in terms of scratch marks and blood trails. At least on ormond you can kind of see them. Not only that, but they barely addressed any of the actual broken loops on fractured cowshed which honestly the loops feel a lot worse. Main building is still strong. It just feels like they really messed this one up bad.

I think the new coldwind is better as its smaller. I actually got more downs with the trickster since it's not as huge to travel across the map. Now yeah the map has more object blocking projectiles, but it's smaller so it's better for slow killers.

I feel the same way, the new Coldwind maps are so rough for killer.

I still don't think traversal is more important than the los blockers in the long scheme of things. At least on old coldwind you had open areas to snipe people even if they went into the corn. Now with how tall the corn is you literally can't tell where the survivor is in the corn, so sniping is literally a complete and total random guess. The collision is also wonky. Against a competent team now you aren't going to have a fun time on any of them. At least I could see before now it feels like I literally have to squint my eyes to see absolutely anything.

Oddly enough, I love the new Coldwind maps, but I play a Stealth Killer. I appreciate the LOS blocking terrain.

It can work fine on stealth killers, and other killers too, but it absolutely wrecks Trickster/Huntress/Deathslinger.

The problem is, is that they barely toned down the strong loops. I don't think barely nerfing a main building on fractured where barely any survivors even knew how to run it compensates for the fact that they killed ranged killers on coldwind completely.

I found it easier to throw knifes when survivors are running in the corn believe it or not. Since now the corn is more visible when it moves. I just found it better I guess. I feels the loops are not as strong since they made them shorter. And shack has more holes, and jungles gyms are more closed. And the main building you can actually see survivors running in the holes.

I agree and cede that point without hesitation However, not every map is going to be favorable to every Killer. I hate all the wide open maps I draw as Myers. When they can see me coming a mile away, I know I'm in for a slog. It keeps things fresh.

They did make them shorter, but most of the old loops you could mindgame. Now that survivors pretty much can see you over the majority of the loops now makes it miserable to even attempt to mindgame competent survivors.

Yea I know not all maps are not going to favor certain killers, but there already is a large amount that already ranged killers have to work extra hard on. Coldwind wasn't the best before either, but it was bearable.

good. counter to new coldwind: don’t try to get annoying snipes from across the map? Actually catch up the survivor and m1 like every other killer has to, then LOS blockers don’t matter.

So catch up as a 4.4 killer easily? Sounds good to me.

Yeah. :) What can I say; I'm a Myers man through and through and the new corn has been good to me. :)
