Weird red symbol. Lore related?

So, in a game not long ago I saw a very weird red symbol on a brick wall. It was in the Crotus Prenn asylum and while I thought it was weird I didn't consider it any further. Has anyone else seen a circular sign looking sort of spidery on a wall. And does anyone know what it means? (Sadly I have lost the picture of it, if anyone has one that would be nice too)

    I've seen something like what you're describing on the Groaning Storehouse map but never the Asylum. I've heard there is on on The Game too but I haven't seen that either.
