Whats with all the immersed survivors ?

Honestly, I can't take it anymore seeing all these survivors just hiding everywhere. I used deception and the survivor was in that locker that I used deception on and she got caught. Then survivors just watch you get chased instead of doing objectives and I'm like do you realize i'm buying you guys time to do gens. Then when I play killer and there are two survivors left they just start hiding all game wasting my time trying to find these people. I know I cant change survivors playstyle by force but sheesh its getting very annoying.

Maybe they are solos and don't want to risk be camped so they are waiting for their team to die for hatch

Happens to me too, they just wait for the hatch the whole time it sucks.

    @Orion back to my perspective

    • I don't consider it sandbagging because I did not know she was in there at all
    • Survivors just respect the terror radius when the killer is not even coming our way and dont even commit to doing gens causing the killer to be able to use pop now if they are exposed or if its a chainsaw killer thats different.
    • I know that I would be going down soon its just that I want survivors to get enough gens done before they save me and before I reach second stage
    • It is possible for two survivors to finish repairing gens because I have done it before you just gotta able to still run the killer around and have one escape by door and the other by hatch. Just quickly message the survivor your plan if you can message them and then execute.

With the absurd amount of tunneling and camping killers lately, I can't say I blame them.

They probably thinks that hiding the entire match is better than slamming gens many solo Q surivors think that way or they just dont know how to loop .

@Orion Idk what you mean by that in terms of priority.

To sum up what im trying to prove is that I want survivors to be a bit more bold and smart when it comes to doing objectives now im not saying they cant hide if the killer is going towards our way or if they switch targets. More than likely I doubt people will refuse to follow the plan because I'm pretty sure we would want to survive but usually if the plan doesnt go out well and we have no other options then one of us will just have to sacrifice themselves so that the other can get hatch.

They value their own skin over anything else. So if there are two survivors left and one gen, they’ll hide and wait for their teammate to die rather than risk being found on a gen. It’s a boring way to play but very common in solo players.

@Nameless Im not saying that my perspective is important im just trying to get yall to see where im coming from my pov and I never said that the world revolves around me. If someone gets camped or whatever then maybe they would just have to deal with it and move on. I'm not saying survivors should not be stealthy I just don't want them to be stealthy so much to the point they are throwing the game. If a survivor is good with doing gens and being stealthy with it at the same time I have respect for that but if they choose to be more stealthy than bold and barely do objectives there would be a problem for me at least. I believe survivors should balance themselves in terms being bold/stealthy 50/50. You can throw the game by being too bold ( Being to altruistic) or being too stealthy (hiding majority of the game so you can get hatch)

@SenzuDuck I wouldnt say its that per say but its quite fun chasing survivors and making them fall for your mindgames but it gets very boring overtime struggling trying to find survivors that are mostly hiding

A lot of survivors think the exit gates are powered by hopes and dreams and not by actually working on generators. I personally don't understand or agree with the playstyle, but immersive survivors tend to be the least receptive to any type of criticism or tips.

There's a lot of confirmation bias that goes into that playstyle. Their team often dies, so they don't focus on objectives or taking aggro because they see it as pointless. Reality is, the team is often dying *because* of their immersion, not in spite of it.

well first his teammate is being useless staying in a locker near a chase, he's basically stuck there until the chase ends, It was completely on accident for the deception to reveal his hiding spot, I wouldn't consider it remotely close to sandbagging, he had full right to use his perk to try to get away. and if a survivor is playing like that (hiding and being useless), well it's deserved

The teammate getting stuck in the locker was also on accident, because she couldn't foresee that OP would loop the killer around a locker, nor that OP would even have Deception to begin with, nor that OP would use Deception on that particular locker. If OP is blameless, so is their teammate, but the teammate is still the one who got screwed.

In my experience, it's the players who think stealth is the root of all evil and refuse to even consider it as an option that are the least receptive to any type of criticism or tips.

Tell a stealth player he should learn to loop, and he'll probably agree with you (or tell you that he does know how to loop, but chooses not to as his primary playstyle). Tell a looper that he should learn to stealth, and he'll scream and insult you for even suggesting that.

There's a lot of confirmation bias that goes into that playstyle. Their team often dies, so they don't focus on objectives or taking aggro because they see it as pointless. Reality is, the team is often dying *because* of their immersion, not in spite of it.

So stealth players suffer from confirmation bias and it's their fault the team dies, but loopers trying to take on the killer 1v1 and dying isn't related in the slightest.

it’s against forum rules to discuss bans..

but they had many different threads opened in a short time so i wouldn’t assume it has to be related to this one

Oh I didn't realize that, I was asking about it to know what rule he broke so I wouldn't in the future and ended up breaking one in the process. My bad guys

I am a survivor main and play stealth more often than not because I am not the best at loops, kind of average I guess. But I would argue that (only speaking for me) that immersive players are the work horses. The TTVers in neon clothes flashlight clicking the killer into a chase are the ones never doing any objectives. I am the one working methodically from one gen and totem to the next to GTFO. I do appreciate a good looper keeping the killer busy while the objectives are getting done. I would in no way say stealth players are killing their team or not doing anything. It takes both to get out of the match, if one or two people never want to hide and always want to be baiting the killer, someone is going to need to be working on gens. So unfortunately it goes off the rails when the highly visible players get killed off quickly by the killer and the stealth players are left trying to finish. Inevitably they are heckled at the end for "hiding the whole game" when they were just doing objectives. This is also pretty much a game of hide and seek in its base form, so being upset people are hiding is a very counter-productive point-of-view.

    🤨

Stealth doesn't fix generators, stealth doesn't open exit games, stealth doesn't unhook teammates, stealth doesn't cleanse Hex: Devour Hope and stealth doesn't keep the killer off your teammates while they fix generators. Stealth does nothing.

And no, when ever I tell a stealth player to loop they say "I know you make it look easy but it's impossible for me." Which I understand because I felt the same way for the first 500 hours but don't lie to them and tell them they are doing a great job while the best player on the team runs the killer for 5 minutes only to find out no gens were done and goes from feeling like a god to feeling hopeless.

Who do you think is repairing generators, opening exit gates, unhooking teammates, and cleansing totems while you're busy being chased? It's the stealth players. See what @alaenyia said

And no, when ever I tell a stealth player to loop they say "I know you make it look easy but it's impossible for me."

And that's "can't take criticism" for you? Whenever I tell a looper to learn to stealth, they almost rip my head off for even daring to suggest such a "boring" playstyle, because they want everything to be doable/counterable by looping. God forbid they have to do literally anything they don't like, such as cleansing totems or repairing generators.

It could've been any one of the rules listed here ttps://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87004/forum-rules#latest

Mods generally delete post/comment that broke the rules.

Who said anything about trying to 1v1 the killer? Leaving a gen early when you hear a terror radius and can't finish it in time is good. Not doing a gen when you know (or should know) the killer is on the other side of the map is terrible. And it's doubly an issue when every other teammate is on death hook and the killer hasn't even seen one player. It's about the context.
