Do you think any characters from RE8 will make it in?
I personally do both think it will be anyone from 8. After playing and beating RE8 for the 6th time I can say they do not have enough screen time to warrant that. No spoilers for those who haven't but want to play it please.

Probably as legendary skins, I'd hope Capcom wouldn't force RE8 characters in. I'd probably still buy it tbh

I'm hella excited to play RE8, but the chapter should focus on RE's history, not the newest hyped up characters.

As someone who pre-ordered re8 months ago, already beat the campaign, loved it, and plan on doing another playthrough this week....
I don't think either will come in. At most we could see Ethan but I bet we would get other survivors over him. Killers I dont expect for many reasons such as gameplay related to re8 and some lore while classic characters would be much more natural to fit into the game and safer choices while re8 was an unproven game by the time the chapter was first starting development

BHVR released its RE teaser quite early, just a couple weeks after All-Kill was fully released. It was obviously planned as extra advertisement for the new RE8 game and to bring even more players into the game. If BHVR released the teaser closer to the actual reveal then it would be cutting close to the release date of RE village.
RE8 was my first Resident Evil game and its all thanks to the cross promotion. Now obviously this is all speculation but I think Capcom is going to stick with this theme and keep advertising their newer characters.

Btw if you liked re8 I'd suggest giving both RE4 and RE7 a try since they are the most similar to 8

Possibly, RE7 is the obvious choice. I still need to finish 8 though, after the doll battle and the fish guy I was drained out of adrenaline.

She's the protagonist, and the game was out (SH3) for years when DBD done the chapter. So any SH fans knew Heather already.

I wouldn't mind either way tbh, Heisenberg is my favourite character in this edition of RE though. And tbh i wouldn't mind him being the killer, Who wouldn't enjoy swinging his hammer about and controlling and ability to move metal?

I believe so, I'm not a huge re fan, I've never played the game but I did research, and I mean a ton of research to keep up. Since the last dbd anniversary logo was revealing the new character (the 4 looked like a pyramid, so ya know), I think it's safe to assume that the number 5 has to do with the new killer, maybe it's their weapon, or the 5th game will be the main focus of the dlc. Many people think it's going to be characters from the re8 game because of an Easter egg. In some part of the game, you can hear Meg's scream from the og trailer. I believe it's incorrect. Just because Meg's scream is featured in the 8th game, it doesn't mean that the chapter will be based on that game. I believe that since it was their first collab, the resident evil company decided to add an Easter egg or two on their game referencing dbd, so since this was their newest game, it's the only one that can have these Easter eggs. I could be mistaken tho

That is my dream chapter, have something for everyone, it would be awesome if they somehow managed to add two killers both from the new games but also the old, a little something for the fans, not to sound like a hater but I absolutely would hate having to buy a skin for a killer from RE that literally will cost more then the whole chapter, and especially if its on a killer I hate playing

Something tells me they aren't going to pull the same stunt as last year for the main hint towards the killer. That would make it too easy because it would narrow down the list by a lot.

They wouldn't really fit into DBD especially Saddler. The Verdugo's power wouldn't work and the Ganado would be just a 3rd hillbilly. Jack Krauser could work, but there are much better choices like any of the Tyrants (T-002, T-00, Nemesis), Uroboros Wesker or G Birkin.

I think he's referencing the scream you hear when you enter the castle for the first time- it's identical to Meg's scream in the intro cutscene when starting up DBD (the original w/ the 4 OG Survivors and Trapper), but its supposedly debunked as the scream is a generic audio file and not original to DBD.

As much as I love Village I would much prefer old characters to be the focus of the chapter. Maybe throw some Village characters in as legendary outfits.

Even the character model you can unlock of him in game doesn't show his face though. It'd be kind of weird to add a character no one's really actually seen.

No, I don't think it will be anyone for Resident Evil 8: The Village. I think there is a high probability it will be a Killer and Survivor (perhaps plural) based on one of the movies rather than the game. I think the fees to license said people are likely to be more negotiable and only profit both the studios who might make another film and/or Capcom who gets free publicity but nothing horning in on their current intellectual endeavors.
If I were a betting man, I'd go so far as to put money on Alice and the Licker, with a close second being characters from the Resident Evil II film since a blasted couple of blocks of Racoon City post zombie holocaust might be fun for them to make a map from. Bear in mind I have no insider information, no snitches telling me anything. This is just an educated guess. They made a comment in one of their Q&A not too long ago, hinting about "stars" and that usually implies cinema.
Please bear in mind I have no personal preference for any particular Killer or Survivors myself. If I did, believe it or not I'd choose the Red Queen and want the DEV to come up with a way for an AI to place deathtraps all over the map and trigger zombies and other monsters. I realistic though, and understand that simply won't work within the context of DbD. Among those Killers that do fit in to the confines of the game we play and love, there are too many of them to be certain.

6th time?! Bro I’m still on my first play through, taking baby steps! You’re a die hard fan. Nice. I’m hoping one of the daughters will be the killer. Probably best to have the third one. She has the most personality. Having Ethan as a survivor would be kind of cool, seeing him in 3rd person for a change. But to answer your question, yes- i think there’s a good chance.

I think it's possible. As a outsider.
Mr X is just a hulk. I like his little hat though.
Nemesis and his rocket launcher doesn't really make sense to me. I'm not that fond of him, but he seems most likely.
Lady D is a cool design, but her kit isn't promising (Lust from FMA basically) and her height is problematic.
The daughters are just early game mini bosses, but their personalities are good for DBD while they have very good kit potential.
Fish guy isn't that interesting without his transformation. I could see the Entity being his new momma though.
Doll lady could have a good kit, but she was very underutilized in the actual game. Her boss fight was very under whelming to watch.
Metal guy could be fun to work a kit around. I like his weapon as well. I think he could work out well and has a personality.
Miranda is alright, I kind of forgot what she did though besides some shape shifting and such. Not that keen on her.
My personal picks would be Metal guy or the trio of daughters, they have the best kit potential.

Can you be more specific? I guess you mention the Meg Easter egg, well I also haven't played the game but a swift Google search will tell you where you can, well, hear It. I think it's in the castle
