“This Community Is So Toxic”

I really don’t know who needs to hear this but DBD really isn’t that toxic. I dare anybody making entire posts dedicate to complaining about how toxic this game is to go play League of Legends or COD online and report back to me on just how toxic DBD is. Every online game is going to have people who have anger issues raving like lunatics in endgame chat or complaining how the other side plays, it’s just the nature of PvP. I understand that there are people who choose to be angry when they lose but there are just as many people in my experience who simply say GG or compliment my plays.

If you’re getting nothing but angry comments about your gameplay I don’t think it’s truly you vs. the world, it’s obvious that you’re playing in a way that is boring or anger inducing. I’ve made so many friends just from the DBD community alone, this won’t be everyone’s experience but I promise you that if you focus on the toxic people you run into you’re not going to appreciate the nice people you run into every day. You have every right to complain about the game, it has many issues but simply complaining about somebody else’s attitude problem isn’t really constructive or doing anything to change things. Just kill them with kindness and most people who just want to piss you off will be disappointed to not get a reaction.

Are LoL or CoD hypertoxic? sure. but here's the thing:

DbD has a smaller community, so you gotta look at ratios, and there these communities are... pretty equal, and toxic people are LOUD.

People saying this community is toxic clearly never has been in literally any other. This is more like a kids game compared to LoL, CoD... even overwatch i believe.

The ratio of toxic people on COD compared to DBD is crazy. I could probably count on my hands the amount of people on COD I’ve run into that aren’t insanely aggressive.

More than one place can be a toxic cesspool

Other places arguably being more toxic than DBD doesn't make DBDs community not toxic. I've never had a game like this where I get so many pissy and/or mocking messages thrown my way (and yes before it is asked, I'm 35 so I grew up in CoD and Halo lobbies so it's not that I've never seen "true" toxic gaming groups; we didn't have Xbox Live Parties to shield us back then! You dealt with the screeching 10 year olds or you didn't use a mic).

I imagine that part of this is due to the one on one nature of DBD. Some 10 year old spouting off about banging my mom in a CoD lobby is a kid just talking out loud to anyone listening but DBD has people sending messages directly to me.

Just because some other game is more toxic that doesn't remove toxicity in our own game this isn't competition about who's more toxic there's toxicity in every multiplayer game that's how things works it's on us to ignore that and focus on positive side

I play LOL regularly, and every point you can use to describe why LOL community is toxic, the DBD community also fill that quota, when a game becomes popular, the game attract the toxic members of the gaming community.
