Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

My problem with a chapter based on RE8.

Where do I start, you see, this may not be to the liking of almost all new RE8 fans, but ... WHERE DOES THAT FOOLISH THEORY COME FROM !? How can you tell that Lady Dimitrescu's daughters can be the killers, from a Resident Evil episode? that would be an insult to the saga, they are only secondary villains and the main one is Lady D, a joke to think that the community is overreaching with the new RE8 content, Behaviur is not so silly as to make us believe that the 5th anniversary logo, whether it's RE8, as happened with the 4th anniversary logo, wouldn't you make the same mistake 2 times, let's say a 6th anniversary, does the 6 allude to a Candyman hook? or a 7, if they added it for marketing it would be a waste, the new game just came out and is already being known around the world, having it based on Dead by Daylight is like leaving it aside if it is the same content applied.

Just these villains are novices compared to what we have, (Nemesis, Albert Wesker, Birkin, Baker) but think about it, since when a witch (which by the way we already have) or a vampire has to do in a game full of zombies and mutations of this? I think that if they wanted to introduce a vampire, it should be more for an original chapter than for a licensed one. They must have some logic, I still think that the new chapter will be a mix between the first game, the second and the third as happened with Silent Hill, only that the logo is one more distraction.

It is true yes, Meg's scream is heard in a game scene but, that does not mean that RE8 will come to DbD, it is more of a promotion to the bad reputation that the game had lately with its worst mistakes that it has had and that Behaviur wants to repair, Really, it makes me sick to read the forum every morning seeing the name of Lady D or RE8, but people do not want to pay attention or understand or accept reality, there are many things that killers like Nemesis can enter.

Ex: The most iconic villain of RE: Yes.

The best creation of Umbrella: Yes.

   The most fearsome: Yes.

Have him here together with Pyramid-Head? It is like having 2 rivals in the same game face to face. But yes, she needed to vent and it really feels good, but at the same time I apologize, it is true that you also have to think that if they put Lady D, she measures almost 3 meters, but how could they put her in and not Nemesis ? thinking that he, she is almost a little small (Classic Nemesis) or the same? (Current Nemesis) could you add an animation of ducking with a shack door or nerfing it to get in? Shouldn't that apply to everyone who enters DbD? How happened with Freddy Krueger and it was explained in his lore why his powers were reduced? As I said before, the community that wants to see RE8 on DbD at such an early premiere is overreaching. I still think we will have the map of the spencer mansion from the first game, Leon and Claire or Jill Valentine from the 2nd as survivors and the 3rd, Nemesis as Killer, Cote said so, we will see STARS on the fifth anniversary, and who says the word? well this monster.

As someone with no bias between Silent Hill or Resident Evil, I highly doubt Lady D's daughters will become the Killer(s). You say they're secondary villains, but I would call them tertiary at best- Mother Miranda is the boss/big-bad of the entire game, her 4 Lords are really the secondary villains, and every other boss fight (including the daughters) are tertiary at best.

As for who it'll be, there's really 2 trains of thought for this. Firstly, this is a big license as well as DBD's 5th anniversary and RE's 25th. It makes sense to celebrate the nostalgic, so older games and beloved characters are more likely. The RE2 and RE3 remakes really popularized Mr. X and Nemesis, so they're frontrunners for the Killer.

Secondly, some people say Capcom could force DBD into making the Chapter RE8 focused for marketing purposes. While it kind of makes sense (was revealed during the RE Showcase) I personally don't put much stock in this as RE is a large enough license to market and be successful w/o DBD's help (as seen by the massive success of RE8 over the last few weeks). If this is the case however, Lady D herself isn't a bad choice for Killer- I just don't see Ethan being a Survivor since his face was never officially shown (to my knowledge).

On a final note, I have learned never to predict BHVR's release patterns, as the only thing you can count on is disappointment, especially when looking at the updates and releases since Silent Hill.

If anything, RE3's remake depopularized Nemesis, and the gap in quality between the two recent remakes and how Mr. X and Nemesis work in those games is the only reason anybody is even considering that it might not be Nemesis.

Honestly, I also believe that it killer will likely be either Mr.X or Nemesis. However, I still doubt that their power and lore would ever be as interesting or unique as the Dimitrescu Family. The iconic nature already puts them above the pseudo-vampire ladies but their just flat outside that. Large amounts of creative liberty will have to be taken for them and it such a shame.

We will see in less than 2 weeks who is the new killer.
