If the novel way to survive is a gun...
...I'd be down with that. I think it could be interesting. Just a single shot, to stun the killer for 5 seconds or something.

I think (and hope) they are introducing Bots, i.e. Zombies with the Resident Evil chapter. I expect they are a passive part of the power of the new Killer, i.e. so many Zombie exist and are likely in and around Generators. They are probably very simplistic and will chase to attack any Survivor that is spotted. *It is possible they are like Victor, i.e. the Killer can jump between them to take control, but I hope it is a bit more of a Bot thing. Such Zombie, like Victor, could be fought back against and killed. A Tyrant of some kind (or a Licker) combined with either Bot or Drone Zombies would certainly mix up the Meta. A relatively slow Killer would extend control and pressure across the map through said Bots/Drones.
Another possibility, keeping in line with the Resident Evil theme is that the Survivors can get infected with the T-Virus and must hunt down the anti-virus before they die (or become Zombies themselves). This wouldn't be unlike Pig's setup where there are places the T-Virus can be obtained but you have to run it down. I don't think would be entirely novel unless the objective is more than running from station to station until you get some anti-virus. I'm just noting this is a possibility because it would fit the theme and the code base (Pig setup) already exists in the game.

I'm expecting real brain dead method of survival for noob based players. Can't expect much for Killers though as the devs have expressly mentioned not wanting to make the killers feel oppressive ( based off Survivors ranks that run into walls and are afraid of gens).

Im hoping it's a new mechanic, at this point the perk system just feels like a bad excuse for diversity.
