New Killer idea - 1920s silent movie star
Hey guys,
I was thinking an interesting killer could be something like a silent movie star from the early 1900s. Something along the lines of Charlie Chaplain (old suit, bowlers hat, cane, etc) with an old film reel aesthetic over his character to look sort of grainy. I think that he'd have a bowler's hat, a slightly too-large suit top, a vest with a bow-tie, white and black vertically striped pants, and dirty, torn up dress shoes. As for his weapon, he'd walk around slowly spinning a cane around one of his hands. All of his clothes would seem a bit worn out and a little dirty, as if he'd had them on for many years. His face could be gaunt and eyeless, with very soft cheekbones and a sharp chin. Nose could be a bit crone-like with an unkempt mustache beneath it.He would be a very thin, tall man that would walk with a bit of a hunch.
Around him, there could be a sort of radius that as long as you are in it, you hear old record music rather than the normal terror music. The music could jump and skip to give the illusion that the record is very old and hasn't been kept under ideal circumstances. Along with the survivor hearing the music their screen could take on an old film aesthetic, and as long as you are within this radius you aren't able to make noises that other survivors can hear. Instead, when your character does "scream" or make noise, a flashcard with "scream!" or whatever is close to the noise that was made pops up over the survivors screen for a few seconds.
Does this seem like an interesting concept to anyone else?

For some reason this reminds me of the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie.

It is a kind of interesting concept, but definitely needs fleshed out more.
