Do hex triggers when your using special attacks?
Hello! I have a good question after watching one of monto's vids and testing it myself. Does hex's like hex devour hope or hex: third seal trigger when you use your special attack (aka tricksters knifes, hatchets etc) down or hurt someone? And what i mean by trigger is that survivors get told you have this hex etc?

No survivors don't get told you have the hex until they've been hit with a basic attack for hexes that have basic attack conditions like third seal, noed, and devour hope

They aren't supposed to, however just the other day, I was alerted to the use of Devour Hope after a Huntress hit me with a hatchet, so it may be bugged currently.

They shouldn't, and based on me having to run into a crossmap chainsaw to save my... Less-than-skilled dead-on-hook teammate, Billy's Chainsaw definitely doesn't reveal Devour Hope.
However, it's a lot more complex that yes or no, because for a while there certian powers were bugged and revealed the Hex totems while others didn't, and if I'm being perfectly honest I'm extremely paranoid that not all of the killers have been fixed.
But I do run Devour Hope a lot (I never take it off) on Huntress and people don't seem to panic until I've just Mori'd a survivor, so...

It's not supposed to, but it may or may not still be bugged. Hopefully a mod might be able to clarify.

I did it with Bubba, revealing the Devour Hope only when I already had 5 stacks. The sheer panic that followed was hilarious!

That's hilarious. They were probably all rejoicing that they were playing against a Bubba that wasn't camping, and then that skull appears on the HUD.
But yeah, it's a pretty good strategy for killers who have a damaging power that doesn't count as an M1 hit. I'd be curious to know if the Pig's ambush dash or the Blight's lethal rush reveals it or not, since those are kind of in a grey area of being M1s but not basic attacks. I know they don't benefit from Exposed, so...

It sure was! I can only imagine their surprise and panic after witnessing Meg get killed by a perk which they didn't even know it was there!
As for your question, I believe Pig's ambush doesn't reveal it, but I could be wrong. I haven't played Pig with Devour Hope since 2019, and who knows what has changed.

Any insta down perk doesn't activate on powers.
