to be fair, ive seen more RE posts today than any other time since it has been announced.

As a player since the 2016 era where conversations took place mainly in the steam discussion forums for the game, I can tell you with full honesty that - nothing - has changed in regards to thread topics and conversation styles.
It's not like the balance team hasn't done anything either. It might have taken them a few years but infinites are gone, original DS is forgotten, and more. It's just that a lot of people play this game at this point, people get passionate, and everyone wants to share their opinion. Even if you convince one person to calm down, another will take their place without knowledge of their predecessors, and the cycle continues. It doesn't help that unsatisfied individuals are more likely to express themselves publicly than the happier individuals, giving the illusion of high toxicity when in reality it's just some stray individuals who want to be heard more than the majority.
You could worry about the state of the forums, and call people out on it, but it'll never stop the cycle.
It's better just to crack a joke here and there at their expense and enjoy the ride honestly.
