If nemesis' infection can overlay on survivors outfits how come prestige doesn't?

I'm just curious why prestige isnt made an overlay for different character outfits if its possible

    Because they'll keep us grinding with a prestige 4 obviously.

    I guess the prestige skins were born long time ago when there were way less skins available, so they were implemented as separate skins.

    Your idea is probably better and could be implemented, but there is other stuff waiting to be done with higher priority.
