How to let know you wanna farm?
I started to pick up killer mainly to do the tome challenges and to farm for BP when I'm done playing as survivor. But I have no idea how to let survivors know I wanna farm with them.
I know with ghostface to just teabag a lot and with hag & demo to use their traps/portals as a sign, but what for the other killers?
Any tips are welcome for this! And same goes for as survivor to let the killer know you wanna farm or befriend them.

Farming is bannable and I would not suggest doing it.EDIT: Bring a Haddonfield offering, nod constantly, and hit gens.

nod ur head or spin around maybe

why is it bannable? that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard about a game...

Farming isn't bannable, only forcing people to farm with you is bannable
Edit (cuz I forgot): Also teaming with another survivor to kill the other, only to farm with a survivor that you teamed with is also bannable

oh imma try this. I hope it works since im console player and not the best with a controller lmaooo

because it takes away the opportunity to actually play the game from the opposite side

Farming's not bannable? Some survivors won't like it because they wanted to play a game and they might yell at you in postgame chat, but it's only report-worthy if you hold an unwilling survivor hostage - like constantly downing them for the rest of them to heal, and neither killing them nor letting them do gens.
I tend to do endgame farming these days (play normal and then turn friendly after I get everyone on death hook), but sometimes there's a rift challenge that needs farming. When I want to farm, I usually locate survivors on gens, but when I find them, I stay a safe distance away and nod, spin around, or swing my weapon. The key point is not moving - survivors will bolt if they think you're chasing them, but anyone who runs off the gen and looks over their shoulder will see you not moving, so they might stop and then come closer to check it out. Once I've befriended the survivor (or they ran away anyway), I let them lead me around for a bit - if they want to pallet stun me, cool, if they just want to do the gen, I go to the next step of the process and find the next survivor. Once I've convinced 3 or all 4 of the survivors that I'm friendly, I can farm in earnest. Stuff like hook farming or repeatedly plucking a survivor off a gen/out of a trap and then picking them back up might get scared teammates to come over, since they can see the auras and tell that something's up.
If I really, really cannot get anyone to acknowledge I'm friendly, I can try chasing someone, downing them, and then picking them up myself (like picking up and dropping until they wiggle off.) If that fails... either the team is really spooked or they know you're farming and have no interest in joining in, so you may as well play normally.
If you find a SWF, you only need to show one of them that you're friendly for the whole team to come over, which is nice. SWFs are a bit more likely to want nothing to do with your farming, though.
Some of my favorite killers for this purpose are Wraith and Pig. Wraith can just stand in place binging his bong, and Piggy has a universal language where if she crouches and spam clicks her ambush button, most survivors will come up to you and boop.

It's only bannable if you force people to partake in it.

I noticed that usually 1 is willing to farm and then slowly the rest of the team comes to check what is happening and are joining in. I play on a PS4 so I have no game chat thank god, but if they don't want to farm and let me know them im good with that too and give the controller to my bf to get them hahahah

Hitting the air in survivors' directions and hitting generators when you know they're around usually works. However, you can't force survivors to farm, and doing so is bannable. Furthermore, if they don't want to farm, you'll be left with no points and essentially waste your time.
1 -
even if its only 1 survivor the others can still do gens and chests etc. and even tho getting chased and hit etc. It all gives points and even more if you're willing to join in it. sometimes its fun to have a more relaxed game with a killer
2 -
Yeah if they don't want to then I won't force them and just play normally. sometimes its just relaxed to have a friendly game with survivors or killers and just enjoy everything

As a first step, use the Cold wind Farm offering.
0 -
what if you don't have that one?

If you do not know rules well, please do not give wrong infos to people. If someone does not wanna farm and you force them to do it, that is bannable. But if everyone happy with farming, that is not bannable.
For post: Patrol your generators, when you see someone on generator they will start run. Go and and spam hit on generator, they will understand
5 -
Then no farming for you.
Btw this Cold wind farm map offering wanted to be a joke.

Im just asking for tips for different killers to let know you're friendly... not for jokes please

Thank you for the information, I apologize for not being well-informed.

I hate when survivors think I'm farming if I let up some pressure because the game was thrown by a farming or unskilled survivor. In these situations I'll give them a gen or two they seem to assume farming when you're not doing anything or you stand under a pallet in chase.
FYI 75% of survivors don't want to farm and will want a new match. Forcing them to play your way will usually end in toxicity.

I don't necessarily want to farm, but I do enjoy letting the survivors play a relatively chill game and getting all the escapes while I practice with killers (until the bot mode hits, that's the best I've got. It seems that the more competitively I play with a killer, the more frustrated I get).
I wish there were a universal sign or gesture that I could do with a killer to let them know that "hey, just play the game like normal - I'm gonna go after you, but I'm not going to sacrifice anybody". I want to PLAY, but I want it to be a game where the survivors know that they don't have to be sweaty because I'm not going to be either.
The last time I did this, someone in the post match said "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD". I wrote back "I was trying to give you guys a break and play the match in a relaxed way so we could all have some fun" but of course he was already gone by then.

If you must, down the survivors first then let them go by picking up and drooping them so they don't think it's just a trick so you can kill them off easier. The other survivors will probably get the idea soon enough although it's easier with a swf.
0 -
that is very false. it has been stated many many many times that it is not banable but it is discouraged because it hurts the game experience.
0 -
I used to pick them up and hit a tree etc to let know to wiggle free so they get extra points and to let know I don't wanna hook (unless they want to and point for it of course)

See above post. Farming is highly discouraged, I personally gen rush it because it is annoying. it only really works in low ranks .... and the devs have stated that they discourage it. As a survivor you wait (sometimes a long time) for a queue, then the killer is afk or farming and it makes the game take longer and is annoying.
The better plan is to get good at killer and use bbq and offerings and you will get 70-120k bps each match ... the points are in the hooks, disrupting gens, ending chases and getting hits. not even the sacrifices really. Learn to be efficient, as what you are asking is considered boring and a scummy gameplay and it ruins the experience of new players. we want to grow the community, not make people try the game and leave.....
The more proper approach is to keep letting the devs know the grind for BPs is too long and we need more BP or smaller webs and items to be reduced in cost. there are many posts about this.

Usually it's hitting a gen, find a survivor, chase, down, pick up, maybe walk PAST a hook then with the survivor on your back keep hitting a gen. I dono how banable it is but it's nice having agency as killer for some Tomes , like the recent "hit two survivors with red puke twice in a trial"....
1 -
Correct this is another ignorant user that cant be bothered to take 3 minutes to read the banable offense section of TOS. I do not like farming and I think it hurts the player base, esp for new players, but a simple google search on dev comments would show you it is not banable or reading the ToS, imagine.

yep

you are working with survivors, thats against the rules.
0 -
What about all the Pig mains who ignore players who are willing to boop the snoot?
I know that working with survivors AGAINST other survivors is against the rules (as it should be, I find it to be absolutely pathetic behavior) but I have to admit, I didn't interpret the rule as "working together for mutual gain".
That said, that ISN'T what the game was designed for, and I myself would be bored doing it. Again, while I enjoy letting the survivors live, I still prefer to play an actual match leading up to that.
2 -
Please stop bashing others and me for asking how to sign im friendly... I often just want to give people a more relaxed game where you can just enjoy getting BP and not trying too hard to escape and do your things.
I just want to know HOW to let survivors know I mean no harm and just want a friendly game. So please stop going on about how it's wrong and not fun etc. If I see survs not wanting to farm, then I just play normally.
This is not what I was expecting when asking this omg. Please just answer my question and don't bash me for asking it and going into discussion with me or others on this.
Plus this is also a thing to let survivors get better at looping etc, and for me as killer to understand how the killer works etc. Let me do what I want please.

No need to apologize, I used to think it was bannable as well, happens to the best of us ^^

Please know Farming is not something we wish to promote and there are a lot of survivors who don't want to farm. Many people queue up to play the game normally and there is always the silver lining that someone ends up being forced to farm throughout several means and it ruins their game experience. Please be very careful with this as it is a grey area and if someone doesn't want to farm, please play the game normally.

Booping her nose isnt a real problemas its just memes, just like moonwalk Myers, giving hatch isnt working with killer as its just a way to say gg wp

Don't farm. It's boring to go against.
1 -
If I go against a killer and they want to farm I just play normally and then report them after.
1 -
Not reportable though
6 -
Not progressing the game by not killing me is reportable. Qualifies as holding the game hostage which is what I report for.
1 -
No because you have the ability to progress the game (aka do gens) and by the way have you not read the mod post that is in this very thread?
6 -
If on console then just message them and wait to ready up so they can reply or skip the lobby.
What I get a lot is they message me asking to farm and then immediately ready up, as someone who really hate farming I am forced to either farm, rush the gens or try and get me killed.
Whenever I don't get an option then I'm gonna rush the gens ASAP and get out, which usually either ends up being able to get out or the killer quits.

Oh no, giving the hatch isn't. I've had several killers who were generous enough to give me the hatch and I've always respected their sportsmanlike behavior.
When I say that I hate killers working with survivors to the detriment of the other survivors (and the game itself) I mean things like a survivor running alongside a killer, using their combined perks to weed out and hook the other survivors, helping each other to gain points by combining their forces to screw the rest of the team. THAT sucks. That is, to me, the lowest form of toxicity in a game with this kind of design. To intentionally circumvent the entire purpose of this game at the expense of the other players' trust, time and enjoyment is a selfish, juvenile thing to do.
That said, if it's understood between all parties in a match that ALL players will work together to help each other gain points, that's a different story (hence this thread). Again, I understand that it's more or less frowned upon because it too is exploiting the game, the only difference being that it's to everyone's advantage and not just a portion of the players working in collusion to sabotage the game for the others.
So I mean yeah, other than playing as Pig and requesting boops I'm not aware of any way to let the other players know that I'm just here to chill and have fun and won't sweat them. I wish that there were.

There's a fine line between working with survivors to make the gaming experience more fun and fair for others and a survivor working with a killer to kill the other survivors.
A survivor working with the killer, leading the killer to each survivors location and taking the game hostage in that way is what's bannable. Plus, many people have had this experience and nothing has been done about it.
A killer working with all survivors in a fair, free for all bp gain isn't bannable. I for one enjoy a time where I don't have to deal with killers who are trolls and am able to take a breather from rough trials.
2 -
Either way you are working with survivor to gain more points at the end of the match and get more pips and rank up, its just like getting ranked up without having to even bother playing well.
0 -
I hook everyone once and then slug them all. The ones that don't DC I let wiggle off my shoulder and pick the others up.
😈
They get the point after that or hide somewhere in fear.
1 -
Chase a survivors and but don't attack them eventually they'll stop ,and give you a little T-bag then, standing back slash at the air, this is the all time indication to let's farm but you have to give them the 1st pallet stun
0 -
I wanna do the pig boops so badly but dont have her unfortunately. Shes fun to play against tho when booping. Same with ghostface and his smooth t-bagging hehe. Also demo and hag have a t-bag option with their powers that you can sign with! other killers idk honestly

Find the first survivor near a gen and m1 the gen until they get the message and approach.

what is M1? Im a console player so idk what it does
