Bhvr announced boon totems as a mechanic they can add in the future. We don't know anything about them yet because they haven't said anything else.

We have no info on it other than it's going to be a survivor related mechanic.
Don't expect any info on it anytime soon though.

Blues a good choice as it's so visually contrasting to regular hex totems and all the art design that associates reddish colors with the killer and the entity

To go through the wording on-stream, the purpose is to give survivors "More interaction with dull totems".
So, I'm thinking it will be a perk activatable by a survivor going to a dull totem and converting it into a boon totem that's linked to their perk (probably won't be able to be disabled by killers). It's a risk/reward maneuver, as the killer taking hex perks reduces available dull totems and thus reduces how many boon perks could be active in one trial, and you also run the risk of your teammates also taking boon totems so you could not get to activate your perk in time.
It'd be pretty good for the game as these perks would incentivise not doing generators to get the effects, however because of this they'd also have to be pretty damn powerful.

Will there be a killer perk/offering that turns boon totems to same color as hex totems to confuse survivors? 😂

Honestly it'd have to be as powerful as things like Unbreakable or Dead Hard, because if it isn't as powerful as the meta there's no reason to use a perk you may not even get the chance of activating.

Not gonna lie, but I'm really digging that blue colour.
Fun fact: Chemicals can change the colour of a flame.
I remember in our chemistry department, we had a cool poster similar to this...
depicting a selection of neat colours you could get from these reactions.

I'm not looking forward to having to hunt down totems as killer. My time is already very fraught without secondary objectives.

it would be interesting to put another animating mechanic on these totems. Instead of the classical, the survivors could pray to transform them.

Make them a deep purple please. Purple is the best of colors and it isn't used often enough.
