counterforce is like is a really good totem breaker perk
I'm not saying its OP but I don't think will be running ruin for a while since a lot of people will be playing JIll and probably with that perk

Not just ruin, all hex totems will be. Because survivors are so lazy for search totems and there was already good 2 totem find perks.
After this perk if we see any complain about "NOED"... ๐

its a new jill perk that gives you a 20% totem cleansing speed and when you destroy a totem get another 20% totem breaking bonus and you see the furthest totem

I am destroying all totems. And most times i am playing solo. I love Inner Strength + Small Game combo. Gives me free heal + points. And i will just change Small Game with Counterforce.

With the addition of counterforce, popularity of hex perks will most likely fluctuate rather than decrease indefinitely. Much like with the population of wild animals: Predator population may increase, leading to a decrease of prey animals, and subsequently leading to a decrease in predators, and therefore increase in prey.
Essentially:
Use of Counterforce goes up
Use of hexes goes down
Use of Counterforce goes down
Use of hexes goes up
Use of Counterforce goes up
And repeat

Detective's hunch is already in the game and is better... it will get some use on release for the novelty, but will stop rather fast

I keep seeing SO many people saying Counterforce is gonna be meta/OP.......I'm sorry but no.....not even close. Small Game/Detectives are leagues better. Especially Detectives.

I play solo and have cleansed all five totems often enough. Small game ๐. Surprisingly there are not that many who actively clear out totems ๐คทโโ๏ธ and then devour hope or noed hits ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ

Every "nerf NOED" post players are told to use Small Game/Detectives Hunch and everytime the response is "I'm not going to use a perk slot for totems." The only players that will use Counterforce are those that already use Small Game/Detectives Hunch and prefer Counterforce or those going for Adept.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say you're going agasint terrible killers. If a team wastes 2 minutes tripping over each other to cleanse totems, I won a minute into that disaster.

Haunted Ground will be reeeaally good with Counterforce, add Retribution to your build and people will think twice before cleansing ๐

I donโt think Counterforce will be the problem many killers are panicking about.
Firstly, Ye survivor needs to find their first totem. Sometimes thatโll be easy, sometimes that could take half the match.
Secondly, the revealed totem shown to the survivor upon first cleanse will be the furthest available totem, and this might be just another dull totem.
Thirdly, because the survivor has to do a lot of leg work to get all 5 totems via Counterforce, this leaves the survivor open to many opportunities to be spotted by the killer, and subsequently chased. Not unless the survivor delays the game substantially by creeping around the perimeter of the map to reach each revealed totem.

Counterforce is going to be neat, but I don't think it is going to make Ruin any worse to run than it is now. Ruin can be gone in the 1st 15 seconds. It is always a gamble. The new Perk shows them the aura of the Totem that is FURTHEST away. So nobody is efficiently cleansing Totems unless lots of people take the Perk. For about two weeks the best Totems to run will be Undying + Haunted Ground. :) Or Undying + Retribution. After that, things will return to normal.

Swap your hex perk for Lightborn, because with Counterforce also comes closet-crafting flashbangs and gen-kicking blast mines

I'm solo and run small game in a lot of my builds. It's fun when I cleanse every totem and kill ruin, devour, noed, etc. ๐๐

Counterforce will be used once every 20 games at best. Let's stop pretending that this will be the end of the world for totems. It's hardly better than Small Game and Detective's Hunch, if it even is better, and those are barely used as is.

You don't need your teammates to do it. You be the change you want to see, and use the perk. You'll never have to deal with a 10-minute lasting Ruin or an undeserved NOED down again.

That's reaching. If your teammates can't collectively loop for the 2 or 3 minutes the totem hunt would take you, then you were gonna lose that game anyway.

Your really exaggerating about counterforce. It's not efficient in the slightest compared to detectives hunch or even small game.
Counterforce requires that you find a totem first to get the effect so unless you spawn near a totem your going to have to go out of your way to find it, which could be difficult on certain maps. Even if you find a totem it shows you the furthest totem from you for 4 seconds. It's not efficient for you to run to get that totem since you could also run into the killer. Furthermore if you were to compare it to detectives hunch then detectives hunch It's clearly more efficient. Detectives Hunch shows you the nearest totems to after a generator is completed. You are shown multiple totems near you for a longer time for doing the objective, while counterforce only shows you 1 totem for a short time and further away from you. Detectives Hunch is clearly better and more efficient. You guys are overreacting by looking at only at the increase cleansing speeds. As far as I'm concerned counterforce is a synergy perk.

First of all, as mamy said, let's state it.
Detective's Hunch is the best anti totem perk, hands down. It blows any other one, including counterfofce, out of the water.
The major thing going for Counterforce is quicker cleansing and even faster the more totems you do. Even if it didn't have any aura reading it would still be a worthwhile perk to run if you know totem spawns.
Same thing with BBQ, most people run it for the points not the aura.

I always try to do at least 3 totems per round - but I won't be using Counterforce. I don't waste perk slots to help me find totems. I solo survivor approx 90-95% of my survivor games and either use a map or just keep an eye out for totems. The last time I had NOED activate was in March 2021 - I love totems - good/quick xp and can get those pesky Hexes out of the way. I don't think after a week or so after release that many people will bother with Counterforce. If people wanted to do totems - they would already be equipping Detective's Hunch or Small Game.

You get 3 lit totems, 1 is undying and the other 2 are haunted.
No matter what hex totem they cleanse, it will and shall always be undying first and the next hex they cleanse will be haunted.
And since undying is gone, haunted won't spwan anymore.
So how do you manage to get haunted ground 2 times then? ๐๐ค

Counterforce as a totem finding perk is terrible.. it will literally give you the least efficient path for cleansing totems, leaving a single person pretty much out of the game for several minutes. you'll be crossing the entire map 5 times; you'd probably be better just putting that person on gens and leaving ruin up...

If they do cleanse haunted totems first (yes, even if undying is present, hexes have specific totems still), it triggers haunted first, then triggers the undying effect and respaesn haunted grounds once again to be broken. It has only 33% chance to fail each game.

What people said: There might be brief use of it cause of the novelty, but... there are so many perks out there that are genuinely helpful, whether you are in a swf or solo, and still people don't use them becaise they are so dead-set on their second-chance perks.

With the new undying you don't have a choice as it will always be undying first that you cleanse, until undying is gone you can't cleanse haunted first.

There are 4 survivors and 5 totems. If everyone does a totem, you won't lose more than a couple of seconds.

Lightborn completely counters flashlights, firecrackers and the new perk. Killers still don't use it and proceed to complain about said things.
It will be the same exact thing with counterforce. No one will run it but we'll still have complains about hex perks. Stop panicking every single time a perk doesn't sound completely useless. The sky is not falling.

If Undying is cleansed first ok no second Haunted Ground, but if Haunted Ground is cleansed first, Undying will become a second Haunted Ground.
