BMing new players and Purposely Deranking
I got matched with a SWF using a smurf account, I knew they were a SWF because their names were variations of each other.
We got matched with a rank 18-19 Hillbilly and the SWF proceeded to BM the hell out of him until he ragequit.
Ruining the experiences of new players is awful, don't do it. If you bully someone new into the ground they'll quit the game.
And then you people complain about your que times

At least they showed the new player what he is signing up for when playing DBD so the new player got a fair chance to decide whether or not to spend/waste time on the game.

I didn't quit but at that time when I was more sensitive than I am now, it was a weird feeling. I was already familiar with toxicity in other games but something about this game made it different.
I played killer my first ever dbd game in 2018 and it was kinda shameful. Playing a "power role" feeling the rush at the start without knowing that everything will turn around soon after. Bm's and me not even knowing that people can wiggle out of my grasp or anything. Trying to keep a person on a hook, being blinded by flashlights. Teabags, clicking. Some post game messages... I felt like I was a a little kid again being harrased by other kids because of my nationality. I felt alone. It never happened in other games dunno why I had that flashback.
I didn't gave up but I thought about it. Instead I switched to survivor and it helped me getting into it little by little until I was ready to play killer again. I did and it was like any other game this time.
I still don't know why my first game did to me what it did at the time tho, probably some kind of trigger.
Sorry for kind of derailing a thread, I felt like sharing.

Can you say they were SWF?...maybe based on their names....smurf accounts? how can you know that.

Bad Manners. :)

I've seen 1 or two streamers do this de-rank strategy (not sharing names) do i think its fair? Not really. However, mmr is hopefully going to help mend this with counter hours versus hours. (This ss was from today, im low rank as ive not played in 2 weeks and straight away knew it was red ranks paired with lower to get the lower end killers)

Yeah, a lot is players, survivors especially, are massive hypocrites that want to have their cake and eat it too. At least killers stick to camping, tunneling and slugging.

I was straight-up warned ahead of time that this game has a very toxic community.

If it's obvious deranking and smurfing isn't that reportable?

When will people realize match making is flat out broken and it isn't some conspiracy to get matched up with lower ranked players, here's me, solo btw.

Two red ranks paired with two purples and the Rank 5's are deranking to get lower end Killers?????
You probably DERANKED the Rank 5 with 12k points in YOUR game.
Completely delusional.

I also felt bad at the beginning, and I will admit that I still feel bad sometimes, now. For me, I think it's two things -- one is that, when you get bullied as killer, it's four vs one, so it feels like you're being rejected by a group of people, which is triggering for people who have memories of being rejected in other settings that mattered more. As you say, you feel like you're alone, there's no one on your side, and you can have the knee-jerk response of thinking, "What did I do???"
The other thing for me was that I went into this naive -- I didn't know DBD had a reputation for having a toxic community and there was a period of time, when I first started playing, where I was slow to pick up on signs that someone was mocking me. So, I had a repeated experience where I thought we were playing in a friendly way, and then I gradually realized the other person was hostile.

Its kinda wierd that we have a game here where the killer is trying to kill you but people expect to be killed by a killer with GM (Good Manners).
Sorry but if i catch you im beating the s**t out of you on that hook trying to get you to ######### or rage quit, quicker you're dead or out better it is for me.
BMing lol, another made up piece of nonsense from this community.
