We deserve compensation.
And no, I'm not talking about the pathetic 300k bp. This WHOLE CHAPTER has been a mess. Performance issues on console (not surprised) The new map being disabled after having problems on the FIRST DAY. And now the entire game is just shriveling up and dying right before our very eyes.

What do you suggest then?
2 -
Refunds for the people who spent actual money, or more bp than the current cap can handle.
6 -
Don't forget the fiasco with the new linked cosmetics and BHVR wanting you to pay extra for a head that's exactly the same as the default :)
24 -
Temple Of Purgation should be disabled too, there is an invisible wall you can get stuck in as Killer.
13 -
Lots of shards and at least a million bp is what I want but we will probably receive absolutely nothing
6 -
Yeah all we'll likely get is a "Sorry about the issues, here's 20 bp for your troubles."

I'm on the side of the people who have been affected by this but - and I truly mean no disrespect here - I don't think that anyone deserves financial compensation for getting an update to their game that messes it up for a couple of days. It's frustrating, yes, but it will be fixed soon. It's not like anyone was lied to, or the DLC falsely advertised, or BHVR ran over anyone's parents with a tractor.
Glitches happen. Sometimes serious ones. You just have to be patient, it's fair to say that BHVR isn't happy about this either.
9 -
Yes but on THIS level 2 days after probably the most anticipated dlc in dbd history? This is absolutely unacceptable

You and everyone like you should vote with your wallets. Walk the walk; don't just talk the talk. :) Head off over the horizon and perhaps they will listen to you. I see it as win/win because then the rest of us won't haven't to listen to you.
1 -
I agree with the second one. Possibly some auric cells and shards in place of refunds? This is just a horrible mess all the way around, and it keeps getting worse with each chapter lol.
3 -
Everyone surprised this chapter is broken just like every big update…. When are you guys gonna get brains?
EVERY BIG UPDATE IS BUSTED. YET YOU STILL PAY AND THEN CRY WANTING COMPENSATION.
How about wait and pay for it when you see it works :)

Again, don't think I'm not on your side. I'm with you. I didn't buy the DLC (I don't like anyone's perks so I'm just waiting until I have some spare cash for the cosmetics, mainly) but if I had, and I wasn't able to play it (or even the game itself), I'd be very frustrated too. You have every right in the world to be.
I'm just saying that in a situation like this, as bad as it seems, it's normal to take a couple of days or even a week to try to hash things out. I don't think that BHVR expected these issues (and I certainly don't buy anyone's claims that they don't care, they're only in it for the money, etc. That kind of thinking doesn't even make business sense), I think that something serious happened that they didn't anticipate because the game ran absolutely fine during the PTB. Either their servers are being absolutely swamped, or someone may have possibly attacked them, or some other unforeseen error has spiraled into the mess that we now have. No one wanted this for such a major anniversary, least of all them.
But you have to remember, it's not as if the game has destroyed your console or anything like that. It's an online game that's experiencing some online problems. That kind of thing typically isn't compensated unless you ask for a refund and uninstall the DLC that you purchased. I have no doubt that they'll make good on this with something in-game, but that's probably about it.
It sucks. I know. I've been where you are before (multiple times actually). It's never fun, and you're not wrong to be upset. But do try to understand that this isn't a case of them doing something on purpose to screw you over, this is almost surely an unexpected problem and it's in their best interest to sort it out as fast and as best as they can. I don't think you'll have to wait long.

Thing is, even if I don’t buy a single thing in this game, I will still be affected by the poor performance each update brings because they refuse to adapt their spaghetti code.
5 -
I mean, there still was false advertising involved, as certain players claimed that they were able to purchase parts of the purple-tier sets in stores only for it to be changed later to a locked outfit. People don't appreciate their product being changed after their already made up their mind that they wanted the previous version, unless the new version is an upgrade. Just a minor nitpick though.
For most companies, if they mess up, it's typical to show a sign of goodwill by either giving something complimentary (and don't bring up 300k bloodpoints, that's a joke) such as a gift card/free desert at a restaurant. If you order a cake from a baker and you receive it with half of the thing collapsed on itself, you aren't going to be happy that your choices are either to sit and enjoy your less-than-appetizing cake, or to have to wait for a completely new one. The whole idea is that the company should deliver its product, that mind you people are paying money for, in good condition the first time around. They don't have to give a sign of a good will by providing anything free, but do you think customers are going to respect a company that screws over customers and isn't truly apologetic about it?

Then dont play, at least your wallet wont be affect. It’ll just be your sanity lol

What great advice to give to someone who paid for a game and expects it to work - just don't play it! You seem very solution-oriented.
5 -
It's like when Mathew Cote said "Just play something else"
4 -
Well he paid for 2 survivors and a killer, THEY work.
But BHVR has a looong history of being incapable of having a smooth healthy update. So just use your brain a bit, notice a history and wait a day first.

I think the problem here is that the bugs grow more numerous and severe each update. While it was not THAT bad in blight's release, the twins' release was a boatload of terrible bugs all around and trickster also came with a fair share of bugs AND a horribly weak killer. And now we get nemesis, the literal manifestation of the word "meh", and bugs that are so bad they make the game unplayable. You have to understand that this is getting ridiculous and people are rightfully upset

Buggy and greedy AF. True amateurs

To be fair I'm pretty out of the loop on the whole cosmetic thing so I can't really speak for that. I don't know if they blatantly advertised anything that can be proven as having been advertised in bad faith.
Referring to the game's glitches, to be honest, most companies don't go giving out gift cards or anything like that. The SimCity launch in 2013 put this debacle to shame (though it IS sadly similar) and I don't recall anyone being compensated for that. EA lied and manipulated the last couple of Star Wars Battlefront games and I don't think anyone got anything out of that. When Ubisoft released a straight-up unfinished Assassin's Creed game they may have given the players some in-game items or something but I don't think there was anything else. For my own experience, during the years I followed the THQ wrestling games (including the time that I was doing work for them) almost every single release had major day 1 problems and everyone just had to accept sitting and waiting weeks for a patch, often which didn't even fix half the problems (or even introduced new ones). No one got anything.
If - hypothetically speaking - the inability for anyone to play DBD persists for a month or something and enough people get fed up and talk to a lawyer to file a class action suit (which I am NOT suggesting anyone do) then it's possible that down the line maybe something could somehow be proven that DBD was irresponsible or negligent in its handling of the game's DLC release. But even things like that are uncommon. The simple fact is that in the world we live in, the industry being in the condition that it now is, games (or updates) being released that screw things up for a while is pretty much par for the course. It shouldn't be that way, but sadly it is. As angry as some people understandably are about this, there's really nothing Earth-shattering about what's happening with DBD right now. They went to release an update and some DLC, the game's having connection and crashing problems, they're now trying to fix them. Pretty tame by today's standards. Again, I hate it too, but it is what it is.

Bravo! Such a great argument. You just solved every problem in the world.
3 -
Cant solve your spelling issues though

Can't* since we're going after typos like a 10 year old lol

This is the first gaming community I've ever been an active part of, and I'm still not sure if every other community is as whiny and entitled as you guys, or if it's just DBD.
That said, I too deserve one point five million bloodpoints, as soon as possible, for no particular reason.
Scratch that, I deserve five million.
No, thirty.

I get what you're saying but playing devil's advocate, it's perfectly reasonable for people who buy something to expect that it will function properly.
I mean I get it, caveat emptor, but there's nothing especially shady or unscrupulous about buying DLC for an otherwise functional game. It's unreasonable to blame the people who made their purchase for being upset that their purchase has, at the moment, not gotten them what they paid for.

Seriously: a memorial plaque will be carved and bejeweled in my honor.
Those are the terms!

Naming a bunch of companies that are known for doing shady things like EA continuing to do shady things isn't really proving anything. If anything, all I have to say to that is that those companies are notorious for doing things like that, so... What's new?
Plus, that's only naming stuff this update. I'm pretty sure they've done similar stuff in the past, linking things to a set that weren't previously a set. You're also right about one part, it shouldn't be that way. The fact that it is just shows how little the companies are because they get complacent customers like you. No offense, I'm not trying to say that you need to be up-in-arms about everything. Just if you really think that with how disastrous this chapter is that some sort of compensation (even if it's not money) isn't in order, IDK what else to say. I work in foods right now personally and in industries like that, and many others, you can't afford to screw up because if you do you gain a bad rep, can lose customers, and end up going under because of it. I don't imagine making games is too dissimilar. But hey, if you're personally fine with being complacent and taking your mediocre servings, then there's no problem with that. Just don't see the point in trying to disregard the people who recognize problems and are trying to make changes.

I don't understand. Did people just buy the outfits without looking at them first? I looked at them and knew immediately that the heads looked the same. If people don't know how to pay attention, then idk what to tell them.
1 -
But again. They have a well established history of being completely incompetent with their releases. Most people who complain have 100s/1000s of hours in the game and got more then the $20 value. So now they can just complain about the big dlc/updates releases.
So wait a day or 2, see what happens and go from there.
With the history BHVR has if youre thinking a new update is gonna be peachy keen then you’re in extreme denial and wanting to punish yourself and complain.
Me…. I wait, and if it doesnt look good then i wait a week or 2 to play the game or buy the dlc.
So i go in expecting something to be busted, and im still disappointed but it hurts less lol

It's perfectly reasonable (and even smart) to not be an early adopter, to wait and see how something turns out before you invest. I never, ever preorder games anymore, for example. That ended like 20 years ago.
I don't blame you for saying that if a company has left people feeling burned before, then they should exercise caution. But it's also reasonable to say that no one should HAVE to do that. No one should HAVE to anticipate that the product is going to be a mess. Those people purchased in good faith, it's fair that they should get what they paid for.

Nor your grammar ones.
