RNG Maps or Fixed Maps?

Simple question between having Maps as they are now or change them to be Fixed layouts everyone knows and can improve at over time.

I defend Fixed Maps, i think that would mean Map Learning is a legit skill and it's equal to everyone, everyone get's to experience the same map wich then leads to every decision be the results of skill, both in knowing the Map well and executing upon that knowledge, which means knowing how to execute the loops but also knowing how to recognize how each player plays. Fixed Maps make both things take less time, they become easier to learn because they are fixed and practicing the execution in loops also becomes easier, wich is a plus to experienced players and newcomers.

I believe Maps are the absolute worst obstacle in players way. The Map size is a problem for both sides for different reasons, for killers the maps are mostly too big in terms of size alone and for survivors that size means more empty areas.

If Maps were fixed layouts then we could adress all the issues, we could adress size to make the Maps smaller and increase interaction between all 4 survivors, wich helps SoloQ, and helps killers with less time wasted travelling and promotes killer - Survivor interaction wich at least in paper would mean less camping and less tunneling since it'd be easier for killers to travel and find someone.

With reduced size maps you can also better distribute loops, making Maps uniform in terms of Survivor safety, instead of open areas or complete deadzones in corners wich do little to nothing for survivor and waste killers time you have more areas where you can loop but the safety is more spread out, we make Houses less safe but add safety to outside loops, wich makes Houses not abusable against killer but gives survivors something else to loop with moderate safety. This way we elimitate deadzones and zones with extreme safety.

Next we need to adress Spawns and Gen and Totem locations. I believe there should always be a central gen allowing for a 3 gen should the killer need it, this would also promote more movement towards the middle of the map meaning more killer-Survivor interaction. Survivors should spawn considerably closer together to prevent scenarios wehre they spawn on multiple gens and killer can't do anything about losing 1 or 2 gens quickly. Finally i think Totems, especially Hexes should spawn near killeror at the very least on the side of the map that killer spawns in, allowing for Hexes to last a bit more. However due to changes in Map size this means survivors can spend less time travelling looking for totems, so while we give killer some initial Totem protection, that protection can still quickly be gone because the map is smaller and Survivors can more quickly find totems. This helps with Ruin and Devour for example on killer side by spawning them in a relatively safe area but isn't so detrimental to survivors because of the reduce time needed to search for Totems, wich means getting Inner Strength and getting of NOED is faster aswell.

Wholeheartedly agree, this game is way too rng reliant, and fixed maps and map seeding will definitely fix many issues but also allow for more solutions for bugs, spawns, etc.

Absolutely. All outdoor maps should be the same size and every map should have 10 pallets. If you think of the map as 5 regions, one region in the center and then 4 occupying tge rest of the map equally, its easier to standardize while keeping some rng. 2 pallets per region, 1 totem per region. Where those things spawn within the region can still be rng, but by limiting the rngs options it becomes more standard and easier to work around

At this point I think every map should be fixed. the randomness is a leftover relic from the early days of 3/4 maps total.

And its not fair that some matches will have max pallets all over the map and others will have massive deadzones.
