Disconnected matches load times

For the love of God, can someone explain why disconnected games take longer to load than normal games?

By disconnected, I mean when someone disconnects while the match is loading.

It doesn't make any sense. So annoying!

    I think because player disconnects and it reloads the menu so it’s double the time. Whoever those players are, they should know they’re awful lol.

    I don't understand it either. If the match has been cancelled because someone has disconnected, why is it still loading? What's to load? This is almost an even worse problem than giving someone a DC penalty because their Internet went out, and not because they pressed leave match.
