Tunneling is simply how you win
I see many complaints on tunneling and this has been addressed before but you guys have to understand that tunneling is a mechanic in the game for a reason. Tunneling is a good strategy for getting a dub if you like it or not. Its unfun to play against but not ever match is fun.

it sounds the same as when a survivor DCs so they dont get killed. If you do that you've clearly already lost in my opinion

It's true, here in the killers United foundation we encourage face camping and slugging survivors at 5 gens to guarantee victory.
Maybe we'll toss them a bone and give then a baseline livable wage of 15,000 bloodpoints per game.

Tunneling only works against bad loopers. If you tunnel someone good you can kiss gens goodbye.

It’s not a mechanic just a way for unskilled lazy killers to get their 4K at the detriment to the other 4 players. All I see is excuses for bad behavior from killers and finger pointing at survivors and devs. Yet somehow killer has it the easiest in dbd. 👌

You surely can win without tunneling, i also win most of the time without tunneling. But sometimes matches go bad and if you still want to win then you kinda have to tunnel or something like that.

I'm rank 1 at all times and I win without tunneling. Once you get good enough, you won't have to anymore.
EDIT: I actually do get consistent 4ks.

It's not like I play her exclusively. I 4k as other killers consistently without tunneling. Billy for example.

Anyways, Clown is easily B tier. The only killer I'll ever lose as is Trickster, but even if I did tunnel, it would make no difference. He's just too weak. He literally made me discard my mindset of "Every killer is viable". That's how bad he is.

Do I 4k every game? No, of course not. There are games I mess up substantially, games I forget to put on perks, and games I play as Speed Limiter Bubba on Groaning Storehouse and DC in protest because the map is so #########. Do I 3k/4k the majority of my games? Yes.
Oh and because I know someone's gonna be on my ass about being rank 2

because when I get 9hooks but survivors escape I still feel accomplished. Sure I didn’t get the whole 4K, but I still managed to pip.

Tunneling ruins the game for survivors. A win is not worth it if you literally have to make the game miserable for survivors to play. Killers get bloodlust so why not for survivors who have been recently pulled off a hook they get a similar effect so they can outrun the killer making it pointless to tunnel? The effect can end when the killer is out of a chase with the recently unhooked survivor after a few seconds.

I don't tunnel unless the survivor is particularly toxic or asking for it and ironically, I never "win" when I do it. I get 4k or 3k and a hatch escape most times I play Doctor and I have no need for tunneling. Everybody in the match is catching a Carter Spark.
