Remember the original Decisive Strike?
I can vividly remember playing killer at this time, when that perk first came out, literally everyone every single game ran this perk, and 90% of the time, they hit the skill check. It was so toxic and extremely annoying. Yes, you could juggle them to the hook (drop and pick back up) but that was annoying to have to do, and we honestly shouldn't have to do that.
I don't understand who on earth thought this was a good idea, literally the first time you were picked up, you could break free. I think the way it is now is much better, rather than just straight up giving the survivor an extra chance, it helps them in the event that the killer is tunneling them.

It was really annoying. But at l at you could dribble them.

No I bought the game like a week after ash came out

The perk was OP, but the original DS skill check was actually a little hard to hit. The second version where you had wiggle first and then move your hands back to hit the skill check was even worse.

Then why did you comment?

I've obviously watched gameplay of old decisive it seemed bs when it wasn't obession because you wouldn't know

The dribble meta

It was a fair and fun to use perk.

I loved it!
I played awful as survivor in thay time and old ds was very helpful in despite the skill check was very difficult somtimes

During that time enduring was a must now its not that usefull anymore :(

It was really dumb. And then on the very next patch after the DS rework, they dropped og Mettle Of Man. Like....what?!?!?!? I think it was at that point I realized the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing at BHVR.

Tbh I never learned how to dribble. I just ate the stun and cried. Old Ds really destroyed me in any game.
1 -
It was helpful, but the point is that it was too helpful and not fun at all for the killer.
0 -
Fun to use? Maybe. Fun to have someone use on you? No. And there was nothing fair about it.
1 -
Honestly i had a lot of fun using it and got also quite a good amount of escapes i wouldn't have gotten without the perk but i can acknowledge it was way too busted and it made playing killer a living nightmare and enduring was a staple in my build because of this perks existence.

Don't believe dribbling was widely used until it was changed to only obsessions could use it instantly.
Also dribbling had the bodyblock issue on top of wasting a lot of time.
0 -
Oh please no. God please no. Don't even think about it.
2 -
I remember it. I ate so many that I just started slugging like a bastard because I didn't understand how to dribble. I still have a chip on my shoulder to this day when I see a Laurie

It was 2016 were we had:
No hook Moris
Old Tinkerer with Charge Add-ons
Chainsaw Myers
Stbfl + Unrelenting machine gun combo
Agitation + Iron Grasp for map wide carrying
Nurse with her old busted Add-ons
DS
Infinites and a million god windows
Insta Gens
Insta Heals
Stacking Perks
Stacking Add-ons
Ect.... the list goes on. DS wasn't the only problem back then.

I wasn’t around during those times but it looked very annoying to deal with. Now, DS is one of my favorite perks to run.
0 -
it was so annoying I remember I went against an entire team of ds users
0 -
It was in the game because you know, survivors second chances. I wasn't bothered by it because we could dribble. I also played Doctor with Unnerving & Distressing so I very rarely got hit.

I think the same people that thought insta flashlights are fine.

Always funny when I see new(er) players complain about DS.
Old DS was way worse, even with the option to dribble them. This was so time-wasting and only worked if a Hook was nearby. And non-Obsession DS were you got hit after 35% Wiggle-Progress without any Indication that they might have it was the biggest ######### ever.
I did not use DS back then, because I thought it was very unfair for the Killer. (I would use it nowadays, because Killers dont go easy either..)

The Doctor wasn't in the game during this stage of DS.

Old one had some counterplay by doing the "i drop you over and over again" tech or you shake your camera. Then they nerfed enduring to no longer work on DS and buffed DS to 5sec stun duration again ...
Current Version is fine (i still hope they adjust the core gameplay to make tunneling not the most efficient way to win a game - like giving the unhooked person a repair speed penalty and the unhooker gets a boost to repairing).

I’d like to forget

At least there was the good ole' dribbling. Or you could down the survivor next to a hook and it would work too.
It was a very unfair perk, but at least there was something you could do.

I remember getting bullied by it a lot when I was new to the game since deranking was unpunished and easy to do. Trust me if a Killer perk comes out as strong as old DS I will be abusing it.
0 -
Yeah it was busted but Enduring made it slightly less painful

I remember when if you dribbled people they would call you trash/toxic.
0 -
Lmao they're trash/toxic for needing such a perk.
1 -
Yeah. I ran stbfl with rancor a lot
0 -
Lol i remember.
Good memories.Back in the old day.I miss 2016 (not balance wise)
But i know those times will never come back :').But i am glad they happened.

I remember that if the basement was in the shack and the survivor was downed near there, I'd dribble them to the top of the basement stairs, where the chest sometimes spawns. If they used their DS/wiggled off I believe I was able to recover in time to hit them by the time they ran back up the stairs.
Also the stakes were high back then. You finally somehow caught the survivor infiniting on Ironworks and now need to avoid their DS. Otherwise, they'll beeline back there and you're in for a bad game full of taunting. You would have to hope they leave when the gates open and don't force you to DC.
Even though you could dribble, it'd take ages to get them to a hook, if one was even close enough. And all it takes is for one survivor to body block the hook prompt and you'd have to eat the DS or slug. Also this was when the pick up time took years.

Yes he was. I came around when Myers was released. That's why I purchased the game actually.

I don't understand who on earth thought this was a good idea,
I ask the same question about the ruin nerf,
the current state of keys,
old MoM,
how weak certain killers are on the PTB and they still get shipped,
the reason for introducing an overheat mechanic to a chainsaw or a cd to blinks
my all time favorite. Patch 1.9.2
1 -
I'm talking about the VERY ORIGINAL Decisive Strike. Not the one where the obsession could stab you.
0 -
Keys are fine though.
0 -
If keys are fine then how come killers tunnel to death anyone who brings them?
0 -
Because they don't want them to use the key. Makes sense to me. Although it's annoying I can't exactly blame them for doing that.
