Anyone else finding Nem just kinda... boring?
I was high on hype during the PTB and put 5 days in playing Nemesis, it was the most excited I'd been about a chapter since the Freddy chapter, ironically. In live I've played him for a day or two and just feel kinda bored.
Balance opinions aside, wether you think he needs nerfs or buffs, anyone just find the power kind of boring and uninteresting?
There's no real challenge to using the whip, and it doesn't feel really satisfying to hit with from a visual/audio feedback perspective. It gets old kinda quickly. He just feels like -another- "hybrid" killer. Which has been a trend in the last year or two outside of the more unique killers like Twins (who are boring for a whole other list of reasons).
I feel like I'm only enjoying him for the same reason I enjoy Freddy. The power itself isn't very fun to use, the fun comes from me playing as Nemesis. And on the survivor side I'm kinda just finding him annoying, as I play Solo, and while I don't think he's top tier or OP by any means, you'll only win if your teammates know how to hold Shift + W and use vaccines (most don't).
I dunno, maybe its just me but starting from Deathslinger's release it feels like every killer or so has just been a "meh" hybrid or objectively worse version of an existing killer.

I find the whole chapter boring tbh. The new map sucks, The perks are okay and the killer is very similar to PH

Its honestly just kinda...disappointing given that this is RE we are talking about, and that this is lackluster at best

That's the thing, I knew the map would be a nightmare and probably insta DC on live when I'm blight or something. But I was LOVING chasing Jill on that map in the PTB, again, probably the "OMG im in the RPD" aspect. I dunno. I know a lot of people are having fun. It could just be burnout.

He's fun to play as and against.
I dislike his chase music from the survivor side.
However, I played him 3 or 4 time since I'm missing BBQ on him after pumping 3.5 Million BPs on him already.
--------------
I've noticed today when I played against 5 or 6 Nemesis that we have the same problem as Pyramid Head, the whole put sword in the ground at the window, take it out instantly to m1 survivor.
However, it's a different case.
- He has a similar ADS time to Deathslinger. Not sure if it's a visual bug or what, but I barely see the damn tentacle come out or hear the audio queue before i get wiped.
- He has a similar cooldown to PH when he gets his sword out of the ground.
The Nemesis Players that I played against would hard respect pallets and would only wip out their tentacle at windows / pallets. Don't have any other emotions / opinion tied to this yet. I'm just afraid it won't turn out like I think it would.
Fantastic combination if u ask me...

Legitimate question: Who are Pyramid Head and Blight worse version or hybrids of?
1 -
His lack of a sound que is the only problem I have with him. Feel like I’m looking behind me the entire chase

Pyramid Head: IDK
Blight: Nurse
0 -
Yeah I decided he’s not for me.
And from the survivor perspective I absolutely hate Lethal Pursuer so damn much. It’s an obnoxious perk.
1 -
I wonder if it will kickstart a lot of the more inexperienced survivors to just do the tried and true "hold W". People will probably catch on to it soon, at least the smarter players. At that point you basically remove the perk from play for the rest of the match. It's like Lightborn. Technically the killer picking that perk is just a win for survivors.

I just really hate spawning in and before I have my bearings I’m already hearing the TR, and the killer sniffing at my butt.

Nemesis just feels like a worse Pyramid Head with a different much weaker and RNG reliant gimmick.
At least the perks (mainly Blast Mine,Flashbang and Lethal Persuer) are fun to use.
3 -
I'd put them both on the same level personally, with Pyramid having the upper hand on denying perks and being able to go for ranged hits sooner.
The perks this chapter are a lot of fun for both sides, I agree. Very rare to see.
But yeah it just feels like they saw the tentacle and knew they could just replicate a slightly tweaked PP. Which is a shame as SH2 and RE are two of my all times favorite games and the antags from both games got very uninspired power designs.

I agree. I was excited for the chapter in a way I hadn't been for one in quite a while, and given the magnitude of the collaboration and the iconicity and personality of the characters, I had hoped for many great things from it. Weighed against that excitement and those hopes, the chapter is painfully lackluster. Perks are mediocre-at-best for the most part, Nemesis is derivative and not compelling, nor even particularly engaging or fun to play as or against. The chapter content overall is of pretty solid quality, but it's just nothing remarkable, and particularly in terms of the gameplay just nothing at all spectacular, the only unique gameplay thing it brought is the zombie AI and that is plagued with issues. Chapter is not awful at all, but definitely underwhelming.

I like this chapter a lot but when it comes to the killer it really just feels like they held back too much while designing him. Like for example they added zombies but there's only two, his power can break pallets but he needs to get to mutation level 2 first, his power takes 3 hits to down and etc..
Visually he barely changes throughout mutation levels which is just :/ considering his mutations in re3 and the remake. Also some of his animations are kinda weird, and his Mori is kinda generic.
Finally, regarding his perks, hysteria and lethal pursuer are pretty good but eruption takes a lot of effort for very little reward.
Overall just feels like they could've done a lot better with him and I hope they try to redo him.

I've been using Eruption a bit and yeah, it leave a lot to be desired. I think the regression just isnt worth wasting time kicking gens. It's a shame his hand is the only part that mutates and not his whole arm/neck like in the game. Hysteria is like mindbreaker, you have no idea if you're actually getting value out of it so I hate it already.
In regards to needing levels, yeah it can be rough without add ons, but when he's at level 3 and people are infected he's incredibly powerful at tiles. Obviously Shift + W is a problem but that applies to every killer, even Nurse. That's just a deep rooted problem in dbd. I feel like thats the only thing balancing him out right now.
If they got rid of the infection speed hit I think he'd be way too overbearing, especially for solo players who can't rely on their teammates to be on gens when they need to be. Because as of right now thats his only real counterplay. Wasting time with the infection hit and hoping you got lucky with teammates.
Maybe removing Vaccinnes but keeping the speed boost, or reducing it to only 3-4 spawn would feel more fair then removing the boost.

It's basically another pyramid head with 2 zombie npc's ''helping you'' so if you already played pyramid head a lot playing with nemesis won't amuse you much..
1 -
True, and I got bored of PP in the first month. :(

Nemesis feels more balanced than many other killers which may be the reason why some killer mains don't like him as much. He's not your typical instant down end the match fast killer. You actually have to play him and gain power. Besides all that, he's Nemesis. Playing against him is super fun (as long as its not a toxic person controlling it).
0 -
I had the most fun with him since Deathslinger release
1 -
That's a weird take because once your infected any tile is an instant win, at least when I've been playing. I'm finding him kind of dull for that reason.
0 -
Its just another range attack killer. So yeah he is kind of boring.
0 -
the only real thing he has that differenciates him from other Killers are the Zombies.
they dont work a lot, but when they do its the best thing ever xD
2 -
Same power as the last few killers. Range attacks that go through windows and pallets but with different steps. Next killer will just throw bombs over pallets lol.
2 -
With certain perks he can be pretty miserable to play against, zombies patrolling the map make Ruin on Nemesis even stronger than it is on other killers.
0 -
I find Nemesis very fun to play and not that bad, especially after allkill chapter, the most embarrassing joke.
0 -
I really liled the chapter overall, playing against him is fun the only thing that bothers me is the audio cue for when he tiers up, ITS TOO LOUD, Jill perks were great and Leon's were okay and I loved the Rpd, probably my new favorite map.
1 -
Actually really enjoy him tiering up feels more rewarding then Myers tiering. Overall like him. Though some QOL or buffs could happen.
0 -
Oh, you mean the Clown?
Yeah, I wonder when he's getting released...!
0 -
I'm gonna call it now. It'll be called, "The Mad Bomber". XD he'll have 2 types. Throwable bombs and timed bombs like C4 that you can detonate XD Wow.. that actually sounds like a cool killer O.o
0 -
Except knowing BHVR, both bombs will inflict a Deep Wounds-type of effect that doesn't actually injure Survivors unless they let it run out. And even then, it'll just do 1 health state and give them a speed boost upon doing so.
1 -
Sadly, tis is true :( I was thinking of the bombs that take 2 seconds to detonate like Link To The Past, where you see it glowing rapidly before exploding. Kind of like an, OH ######### moment lol.
0 -
Oh, so bombs that every Survivor could avoid provided they can't be held until the last possible moment?
Even worse!
0 -
Its more for balance since it would do a health state and you could play around with the survivor to try to make them get into the blast radius. There always has to be balance. You have to remember, he has remote bombs, too. You gotta be fair and the blast radius could be like 3 steps in all directions.
0 -
The problem is that, as we see with Clown and Nemesis, unless the threat hits them right in the face, trying to corral someone the way you want them to go won't work out as well as just hitting them.
Besides, we all know remote detonated bombs will have a disarm method that makes them moot, like Trapper, Demo, and Hag.
1 -
True but its a fun concept, nonetheless lol.
0 -
Conceptually, yes!
But unfortunately, we all know BHVR won't let us have Killers with strong powers that lack some form of counterplay that entirely neuters them.
1 -
Don't worry. The next killer will have some type of range attack like all the others. We'll be getting them for the next 2 years unless its a licensed character.
0 -
You mean EVEN IF it's a licensed character, right?
For real, Pinhead, Tricks are for Kids, and now Nemesis all have some sort of mid-range attack. And two of those are licenses.
0 -
Yeah, yet ANOTHER disappointment from BHVR. Really sad dude, this is RE we are talking about, and BHVR couldn't even give us a good killer for this franchise. But hey, at least we got Claire and Chris for legendary skins right?
Honestly, the only reason I am going to get the new chapter is because of the perks, not the killer.

I still say cages should give you a stack of WGLF and BT. It's still annoying as hell.
0 -
PH doesn't have to reload. He can continuously use it.
0 -
No one uses it unless you're vaulting or throwing a pallet. Using it at any other time is a waste of time. Even with Huntress, with her range, she can chuck them from far away and still get a hid unlike PH. PH can also make a guess where the cage is since it spawns farthest as possible from him. I've had it multiple times where someone just rescues me and PH is there to down me again and ignores the rescuer. BT should activate no matter which way you're hooked/caged. The purpose is to give a player a chance to run instead of just being there to die since they're defenseless.
