Just watched 2 survivors let their teammates die on first hook, so they could find hatch

I'm sure the survivors on the hook are really glad keys are in the game.

I'm playing immersed pig, and have 3 hooks total. How could you possibly live with yourself, pulling that ######### with 2 gens left?

It’s a valid strat when the devs put things like noed and ruin in the game which are perks that basically say: if you try to work as a team for help your fellow survivors you lose the game for it. Maybe if it wasn’t so punishing to actually help your teammates out people would be less inclined to let them die

Not for solo queue surviors they don’t. Unless we waste a perk slot on it we don’t have a totem counter to know how many totem are left or where people have already cleansed them meanwhile swf gets both of those things without having to use any perks at all. Again it is super punishing to play as a team right now because of those perks and the gap between swf and solo queue.

What does that have to do with anything? Those perks have some counterplay via totems and those two survivors literally threw and gave up that early.

I was running BBQ, Deathbound, Infectious Fright, and Dark Devotion.

I assure you, however "valid" you may believe that strat to be, it was wholely unnecessary and discourteous to the survivors on the hook as well as myself.

Ruin does nothing if the killer isn't good at applying pressure, if they are it only creates a side objective to be completed.

Noed does nothing the whole match so the killer is only playing with 3 perks, and if players decided to only do gens and leave then they're punished for it.

Helping teammates isn't punishing, its when you try to help teammates in bad situations or just don't help at all that's punishing.

What does this have have to do with their gameplay? Do you throw your games just because you're afraid of ruin and noed? Not to mention that those are hex perks that can be completely avoided.

Letting your teammates die on first hook is not a "valid strat".

A couple of weeks ago I was playing a pretty fun, competitive game which came down to myself and one other survivor, maybe two gens left. After a little while - five to ten minutes - I started to realize that I hadn't seen the last survivor in a very long time. Maybe even the whole game, I don't recall. It also seemed like the killer was tunneling me.

Lo and behold, once the killer got me and hooked me, I was able to see the aura of that nice other survivor just hiding behind walls on the other side of the map. What do you know, as soon as I got to the match result screen, there she was. Wonder how that happened.

Nah it's cool, screw you too.

Had a similar experience a few months ago except I was one of the two survivors left to die. Stuck around to watch the two Claudettes locker hop for 10 minutes because I guess they realised we hadn’t done enough gens for hatch to even spawn. Eventually the ghostface found them and killed them and I was more than happy to congratulate him and apologise for him having so much of his time wasted.

I had a game once with a 3-swf. I found a key, then the killer found me, and i run them for 4 gens. Then i got downed, hooked, and the 3 swf came to the hook, teabagged me till i was dead, took the key and got out.

Afterwards they told me it was because i was useless and didnt work on gens.

However, as a solo survivor, there are so much dcs and hook suicides, that i like to have a key as a backup. Oh, and tunneling too.

This is my biggest gripe with DBD, and the sole reason I think hatch is a bullshit mechanic.

Instead of pushing the game towards a "team-first" mentality, they invited selfish behavior--and in many cases incentivize it.

This is a larger issue than the balance between SWF and Solo queue, because the issue with Solo queue is that survivors play every man for themself. If BHVR gives them a motive to play team-first, then the disparity between SWF and Solo won't be as wide.

Its exhausting looping a killer for 7 minutes while the only other living survivor sits in a corner. Survivors shouldn't be motivated to play like that.

Yeah, I'm used to it by now. Survivors will just flame the ever living ######### out of each other in post game chat when they think the others threw the game. TBH, nowadays when I'm killer, I'm used to survivors flaming each other instead of me nowadays. More and more people are realizing that the problem in this game are other survivors
