I just don't see how its entire infection into body snatching gimmick could ever work in DbD.
Its not that it thematically wouldn't fit(it would be quiet the stretch thematically but overall fine), its just would be impossible to implement without having it losing both its identity and appeal.

"The ultimate in Alien terror". The first thing I ever did on these forums was post an idea for The Thing. It's my favorite horror movie of all time. And it's implementation would make me spend so much money that skins could never get. And I don't care what the devs said about a shapeshifter. If we got a Clown and the Hillbilly inspiration we can get this. Unfortunately I don't see a lot of support for it here. Which makes me so sad. I keep waiting for the day we get this chapter.

To be honest, I consider the Thing to be a horror masterpiece, for its impressive visual effects, use of paranoia and fear, and the story it tells

The original film is absolutely incredible and even if the devs had a hard time implementing it into the game I say it'd be entirely worth it all the way. The Thing is up there in the Top 5 of my most wanted licenses, I just don't talk about it as much because I know that it's a bit difficult to visualize and supporting something in the abstract can sometimes be difficult.
That might be a good thing however, as Dead By Daylight has fallen into a bit of a monotony and creating killers that are really oppressive in the chase and lack anything else. I'd love to see killer powers that innovate again and create something unique, and perhaps the challenges posed by characters like The Thing or Chucky even are exactly what Dead By Daylight and its devs need to spur some really fresh inventiveness and imagination to create new distinct characters that feel entirely their own.
