Thank you guys for hearing our prayers and making it stackable! I'm sorry for those who took it way too far and decided to demonize you yet again. Through all the ######### we still appreciate you and love this game to bits

I'm not even convinced it was ever supposed to be non-stackable. People were flipping their lids over an obvious error (probably one caused from trying to implement whatever the secret personal effect is.) It is nice that they're giving an official statement, though!

It only made sense for it to be stackable. It has always been stackable, so why would they change that?

Everytime something like this happen, a thread like this shows up, havent been there for around 2 years and that hasn't changed so...i think they do get this enough, it's a nice thing they're doing sure but thats it, no need to try and imply things that aren't true for upvotes.

There was a leak that said they weren't stackable and instead of people saying "Well it's just a leak, we'll see what happens", the forum did what the forum does and pooped itself in a righteous and furious anger about it.

The leak itself might have made the devs aware of the bug before the event even started and hence the developers fixed it, saving us all some hassle. That is, if the leak was actually correct. So that's something to keep in mind

I don't think there was ever a bug. the leaker found in the data for the cakes the effect for the special event which had the personal tag. since cakes have never had an effect other than BP it was a reasonable conclusion that it meant the cake was personal only. All a big misunderstanding really and just a lesson not to take something as fact until it's in play.
this also provides a clue that this anniversary really isn't just a recycle of the 4th and 1st, since we've never had a BP offering with a secondary effect before

I do appreciate them confirming the cakes. I was up in arms over it but I'm really glad that they just came out and said it was stackable. I've been on their side for years but this is the first time I've wavered. Glad that they could get my trust to stay after all. Love you, Guys!

No, it wasn't a reasonable conclusion at all. Every anniversary cake has stacked. The only time one didn't is when it was bugged, and that bug was fixed. It's not reasonable to assume anything except "this is a bug".

Why? It was an unofficial leak about something we already knew the basic functionality of.

I'm not sure where you're getting "we have to praise them" out of BHVR doing damage control over everyone royally freaking the ######### out over a leak that showed a standard item wouldn't behave the way they were supposed to, despite the fact that we had previously seen these cakes miscoded in this exact same way and they got fixed last time, too.
BHVR never stated any intent to make the cakes personal. I see no evidence that this was ever in the plans. Some staff member bungled the coding, copied the wrong item template, or misunderstood what the cakes were supposed to do, a prominent leaker found it, and everyone collectively abandoned their critical thinking skills to go on a mass protest of how BHVR was out to steal Christmas.
There's quite a few things to be angry about at DBD in the current moment, but this was never one of them.

I think our wires got crossed here. I was only saying that after seeing the tweet about the cakes from behavior I went back and looked at the leak and yeah, the part that says "personal" applied to the specialEvent effect, not the 2 blocks that were BP related. But since we've never seen a BP offering with secondary effects and we have seen a bug where they didn't stack the leaker concluded this was a repeat of that bug and not the introduction of a new effect. that assumption I believe was reasonable, but in light of the tweet I see how it could have been misinterpreted and that there never was a bug at all. Keeping in mind that the leaker was only looking at code, not at the behavior in the game

I wouldn't praise them just yet. The cakes last year didn't stack (but gave 140% instead of 104%) for 10 days.

Someone coded this wrong. In the next patch the code will be corrected.
Well done to the people who discovered this (who said they just wanted it noticed and fixed to their credit).

So assuming 5 people put 1 in, that's 150 x 5 = 750
With BBQ and Chili that adds another 100 so that'll be 850
A perfect game would be 32,000
32,000 x 850% = 272,000
