Is playing as Nemesis functional yet?

Like many of you I purchased the Resident Evil chapter, and while I am miffed that I still can't play on the new map, I really want to give Nemesis a go. However I've watched many a stream where the FPS while playing as Nemesis has been all over the place. The bad performance has been noted across next-gen consoles and PC. This week's hot fix seemed to dedicate more time to cosmetics then it did game performance. Have any of you noticed an improvement when playing as Nemesis? If not, would you recommend holding off until the game is patched even further?

I never really experienced any performance issues while playing as Nemesis on PS5 even before the last patch. The only performance issue I had with him is the FPS dropping while I was leveling him up, and that seems to be gone.

Since the patch I've had less instances of performance drop as nemisis, but more as wraith.

Appreciate the replies. I just tried a match and it was pretty seamless. I too play on PS5 so I don't know if they had anything to do with it, but the experience was an enjoyable one. But damn if it doesn't take some time getting used to the tentacle strike!

He's functional, just a B tier killer basically.

Biggest issue is his power requires you landing strikes to contaminate just to be able to do anything with it, one hit to contaminate, and then two more to injure and down, or use those fists you got. Giving survivors a speed boost on contaminate isn't helping, and his early game is atrocious since the tentacle can't break pallets and it's range is only 5M. Getting to T3 feels like a booby prize when all you get is 1M of extra range. He has no map pressure outside of two random zombies that either get stuck on terrain or couldn't hit a survivor running right past them.

I still think he's fun to play and I know people are having a blast on him, but he's a perfectly mediocre killer.

Lot of frame drops still on Ps4 with multi second freezes occasionally. He is better than he was cause now u can at least use his power half the time without drops. The issues are pretty much on all killers for me though so it seems like just more ######### up optimization overall

On ps4 since a patch...he is more reasonable at best. Could use a little more fine tuning.

He's still bad on current gen, next gen should be fine.

I just know I'm not playing this game until they fix the freeze problems. I don't like losing just because the game is unoptimized.

Didn't they purposely make zombies worse from the ptb?

How were the zombies made worse? And yeah getting a tentacle strike outside of a window or pallet is damn near impossible on a juking survivor. I agree with everyone else that a speed boost should not be given on contamination since it doesn't injure or put survivors in the dying state.

Can't comment about when playing him but when versing him as a surv the performance seems fine, at least FPS wise, there's only the usual stutter.

The only thing thats weird tho is the range of his power , it seems incredibly inconsistent and there's lots of time when i don't get hit when i'm clearly supposed to take a hit/get infected.

The ones I’ve seen do well. Like most killers he is built for red ranks so you should easily get a 4K with zero skill or practice if you’re purple rank or above.

On xbox one S absolutely not. And its incredibly frustrating because i think he'll be fun once working

Played three games as him on PS5 last night, and he seems to randomly get slightly pushed to the left side for some reason. I haven’t had that happen to me at all until those games. Aside from that everything was fine.

Yeah I had a particular tough time as survivor because whenever I faced against Nemesis the FPS would drop maddeningly low.

I have to disagree. Now to be fair I've only played one match with him so I'm not about to say that I know the ins and outs of playing as Nemesis, but as with all things it will take practice. But given the fact that it takes three hits from his tentacle to down a survivor, not to mention survivors get a speed boost from contamination which does no damage, makes playing as Nemesis incredibly rough.

Plus he has a very easy tell when he's about to do a tentacle strike. The match I played in was definitely rough because the moment survivors saw the tentacle come out, they started juking all over the place which made it impossible to land hits out in the open outside of windows and pallets. Again it will take practice, but I don't see him being a killer that makes it easy to get 4k kill streaks with. But I will agree with many others that contamination should not give survivors a speed boost.
