How to Locate Downed Survivors?
Hello all! So I've been having problems with the hatch constantly. To counter, I have been leaving the second to last survivor downed so i can hunt the last one down. I have no longer had a survivor escape via hatch and have had MANY more "nobody escaped" matches. The new problem that has raised is that once i hook the last survivor, I can no longer find the survivor I left downed and they always bleed out. I know Deerstalker is a thing, but I don't want a crutch perk. Is there any tips on how to find downed survivors? (And yes i know you can hear them grunting but i cant even get close enough to hear. They just vanish.)
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

You could try Stridor, it make their grunts louder and even counters Iron Will. Another one you can try is Whispers, which tells you a survivor is inside x range. Outside of perks, I don't know how much help I can be.

@CoolAKn I've noticed that Freddy doesn't need the Deerstalker perk either. Ill study the killers and see what i can and can't get away with.
Quick question, Does the Shape's Stalk ability let you stalk downed survivors? If so i could sweep the area in stalk mode and the silhouette will glow.

If you are playing Freddy and use Red Paint Brush with Monitor & Abuse, he will just about have no terror radius.
For Michael, you can't gain evil from stalking downed survivors, but the add-on should still reveal them while stalking.

The best thing to do is remember the general vicinity your downed survivor is and hook the other survivor far enough so they'll pop up on BBQ. Otherwise, you'll be looking for blood and groans. You might also be seriously underestimating how far a survivor can crawl, especially if they have tenacity.
If you really just blew it, let the dying survivor escape from you and none of the above work, take a mental note of where the hatch spawns and start you search outwards from there.

@iceman2kx in the most recent match that i had this problem, I went back to the general location I left them, and then slowly spiraled outwards until i heard grunts and didn't. Maybe I am underestimating the distance but if they don't know where the hatch is or way too far, then where would they nuzzle themselves to bleed out? Also is leaving them to bleed out a preferable outcome to an escape hatch or is there no point difference?

Aside from using perks, putting the Survivor in Madness 3 with Doctor should reveal them. They will scream, which gives away their position and the illusions will appear next to them. If the Survivor is running Calm Spirit, they won't scream, but the illusions will still appear.

What's gonna happen is the survivors will crawl and look for the hatch OR towards the exit if the gates are opened. That's the only way a survivor will be able to live (and win) assuming they don't have unbreakable, DS or other teammates to pick them up.
If they bleed out, they die. If they die, you win. The only time bleeding out will really hurt you is if you haven't hooked them yet and received your BBQ stack for it. If they are no where near the hatch, you could try the corners/edge of the map or somewhere no where near a hook. The the reason they would crawl there is to get far enough away from a hook so they can wiggle free and escape. There's really no benefit for a survivor to bleed out and die as opposed to being hooked.

Turn up the volume a lot and listen for their moans.
If you still cant find them in a reasonable time, walk to the hatch and wait there. Maybe they will show up, maybe they wont. Either way, you 4ked0 -
BBQ will reveal downed survivors as well.
Other than that? Look for blood on the ground and listen for grunts of pain.0 -
Why would you consider Deerstalker a crutch perk? Or are you saying you don't want to give up a crutch perk for something like Deerstalker?

He's saying he wants to get better at finding downed survivors rather than rely on a perk to do it for him.

Listen for moans, look for blood (bloodhound might help. Effing wraiths and their uber tracking), and look for the button prompt, I guess.0

the most simple thing to do is use bbq and chilie. It's a great perk anyway but when you hook the second to last survivor (as long as you go far away and that's not a problem as usually you know roughly what side of the map the downed person is on), you'll be able to see the survivor.

Deerstalker is useles in most cases and its actually a bad idea to pick it (only exception might be a full slugging build)0 -
Understood. I like Deerstalker. I haven't put points into my Billy in years. So I still run Deerstalker on him. I got the old school build like Enduring, Deerstalker, Brutal strength, and whispers. I still play him a ton and think Deerstalker fits well with him. But besides for him I wouldn't want to waste a perk spot on it either.

Audio is huge when you dont you dont want to use DeerStalker. Through depending on who you play some characters like the wraith has an add-on it's a very rare that shows survivor auras 12 meters away while cloaked. It's was favorite add-on before his add-on changes. It's really good0
