Someone DC'd before the trial started and it took both mine and my daughter's cakes. Has this happened to anyone else?

Offerings and items go back to your inventory if someone left before the matched started.

You will lose your offering even when someone crashed.
But you can get more cakes.

It always happens. Once offerings are burnt at the start, they are gone forever.
And if someone DC during loading screen, the match us cancelled and all offerings lost
