Survivor/Killer Etiquette?

I might be missing something here, but I feel like whenever I go against survivors in console they're just... ew. Like... sweaty, kinda mean, lots of tbagging and just... overall I dont like playing against them or with them.

I'm enjoying leveling up my Legion, zoomies woohoo, and every other game I'll kinda pick a favorite survivor to let have exit or hatch, because I can see theres like one who's doing a really good job--or they were just kinda unlucky and ran across my path and were just wrong place wrong time, and I just kinda "accidentally" let them get a way a few times.

But when its console players that you try to be nice to, they just... seem to HATE it?

Perfect example was my Legion game I just did. I went into Frenzy and managed to get 3 of the survivors on Frenzy, then find the Kate by herself at a gen and down her, bring her to basemen. Theres unfortunately a noble David RIGHT at the door way as I'm coming up and he's already 1Hit because of Frenzy so... down he goes and I hook him in basement next to Kate. Detective comes down to save them and well... same thing, he's one hit, so after a poke on the stair case I just kinda... leave him there. I figured 2 hooks in basement is enough, so I go up and start roaming around kicking in some gens in Auto Haven. Noble Leon saves everyone and once everyone's healed I pop frenzy and go a-huntin'.

Pretty much rinse and repeat, I pop Frenzy and with some tips given to me by this lovely community, I managed to hook 3/4 survivors.

Leon saves them again, woo! This is getting good...

After giving a good lap for everyone to heal I pop frenzy and--unfortunately for her--Kate literally runs into me. So I pretty much finish off Kate, David, and Detective within the next minute or so and there's still an injured Leon running around. He'd been a good sport so I go looking for him as Detective is slowly dying on hook and there's Leon out in the open--making some tea with his gentleman's' coin purse. I'm like... OK? But maybe he's just saying hello, console players you know, so I down him and pick him up to carry him to Hatch.

This. Dude. Is. Just. FIGHTING. He DS first off--rude? or maybe he had a challenge to complete idk--so I'm like ow my feelings, but ok, and I down him again. I pick him up and he is just FIGHTING ME. So I'm like bro it's okay, so I set him down, nod, then pick him back up to assure him things are a-OK. Nope. He keeps fighting me. So eventually I just drop him and go look for hatch, close it, and grab Leon and hook him for the 4k.

I shoulda been happy with a 4k, but Leon didn't want my hatch. So I felt a lil sad :(

Just don't be a douche for no reason.

    That's literally it.

The problem is trust has been shattered between survivors and killers, especially since some drop them near hatch to close it in their face. I hate that and I play killer.

Sometimes if I hit something with my weapon a couple of times then swing in the air at nothing the survivor won't struggle, then they get hatch. However if they have not bothered taking notice of me abusing the environmental objects and struggle then it's to the nearest hook they go, unless hatch is between us and the hook.

Well, I just got out of a match against a killer that downed me at the hatch, and even though I was the last person, had an anniversary med pack therefore no key, and had crows circling me so obviously no DS, he still decided to let me bleed out until there was literally less than 10 seconds left of the DGC. So enough with the complaints about survivors. They are NOT the only ones being pointlessly mean.

Wow, you sound a TEENY bit mad lol. I wasn't even blaming survivors. I said console players. Whether they're on my team, or I'm playing against them--they got a bit of a different vibe to them thats not as playful as PC players. You still seem REALLY mad about your loss.

I’m not mad. But you seem a little over sensitive to how others behave towards you. You’re upset with survivors struggling. They get more bloodpoints if they struggle even if you’re leading them to the hatch. Ask yourself: why are you getting offended over that? Why do you think that I sound mad? Maybe it isn’t us here. Just saying.

I think you're looking too deep man lol I'm just farming BP on Legion and noticed console players just do not want hatch given to them so I thought maybe theres some PC-to-Console communication I'm missing here. Yooure projecting a lot

You’re reading an awful lot into how players are playing against you, but I’m the one projecting here. Got it. Whatever. You can’t stereotype console and PC players like that. There are tons of players that frown upon farming. Not everybody likes to be given the hatch. It isn’t a PC/console thing. Some peole just want to do things for themselves.

Okay, sorry that last killer didn't give you hatch buddy lol. But after 5 hours of continuous killer gameplay tonight I just thought it was odd how the only survivors who were quitting mid-game via open-space tea bagging or disconnecting after their down were console players. Was thinking maybe I missed something in gameplay or whatever, I even thought maybe I was being too harsh as a killer--but oyu wanna take this as a big personall afront to ALL survivors somehow lol.

Both sides are ######### up and toxic at an extend

But the more the survivor are the more the killer becomes toxice

The more killer is, the more toxic the survivor play

And it goes round and round and again and again

That's weird because in my games there is a good mix of both console and pc players who dc, especially after 1st down for players with a cross platform icon on their name. I'm a console player.

Just because there is a globe on their name though could just as easily be steam, stadia or windows store. It doesn't necessarily mean console just as ps4/5 could also mean xbox or Switch and not pc.

As a console player, feel free to let me escape. Rip to them but I'm different.

I don't take escapes on hatch if killer is giving it to me simply it's not because I hate them or I wanna be toxic it's because I didn't earned it and I don't take mercy from them just take your deserved 4k and move on

Lol. You think him not giving me the hatch made me mad. I don’t even care about that. Not giving me the hatch isn’t what made the killer the jerk, it’s that he waited the entire length of the EGC to hook me when we both could have just moved on. And even that didn’t make me mad, it just confused me while I got up and got a drink.

I may be wrong here but don't survivors get aim assist with flashlights on console?

If im going to give someone hatch i let them struggle free. 2 sets of eyes are better than 1 and you mive slower with them on shoulder

My criteria for giving a Survivor the hatch:

1)You must not have been observed by me doing anything shady or douche-y at any time during the match. This includes the usual suspects...exploiting lockers, pallets, windows and other geography weirdness. But it also extends to things like flashlight spamming, body-blocking hooks, and pointing out another Survivor hiding in a locker. Any of this, even just one instance, will get you on a hook. In the basement, if I can get you there.

2)You must demonstrate to me that you are conceding the match. If you're standing, don't run, or go for the exit switch, etc. If I've downed you, when I pick you up, do not struggle. Running and struggling tell me that you are still playing the game, in which case I will continue to play as well.

Meet these criteria, and I will usually help you find the hatch, or carry you to it and drop you.

If you met both of these and I still hang you up.....it means I'm doing a challenge which dictates that I kill all Survivors in the match. Sorry about that. Blame the devs.
