Which Chapter Concept would you like me to make?
Okay, this time without screwing things up because of the Forum's faulty system, I would like to ask you of something to vote for. It's which of these chapter concepts do you think I should make in the creative forums. Like I did with the Final Fantasy chapter, I want to try my hand at a unique concept and approach to creating a Chapter, and due to the Final Fantasy chapter's somewhat warm reception, I'm deciding to do another one!
I will put a disclaimer that the chapter that's voted on will not be my 100th forum thread on here (that's reserved for a special chapter concept of my own). However, after that, I will be doing the chapter concept voted for here next. So, here are the contenders for the chapters at hand:

Persona
I'm just really interested in how you'd incorporate a game like Persona, a time-management RPG, into a game like DBD. This is just the option that stands out most to me so that's why I picked it.

The Thing
The Thing has always been in my top 5 most wanted chapters for DBD(number 5) and I’ll always enjoy seeing some more love for that movie and just how people could make it work in their vision. :)

The Thing
I want a snow map, with ACTUAL snow, not that thin layer of shredded styrofoam sprinkled over Ormond. You'd think for a ski lodge atop a mountain it'd be a little more bitter!
I don't want to be able to see through it!
I don't want to be able to hear anything other than FRRRRRRRR as my skin cracks like glass!
I want it to be so dark, white, and loud that it make me feel cold in real life!

Seas of the Damned
Ngl lot of good choices but I'm going seas of the damned as I'm getting major pirate vibes from that chapter title alone

Containment Breach
I really, REALLY want to see an SCP chapter concept.
(Although these don't count, my second picks would be Persona and Metroid.)

Persona
I'd be really intrigued how Persona would work, so I'm gonna vote that.
Although, I also admit having Obscura in an Evil Within chapter would be just about the freakiest and coolest thing I could see in Dead By Daylight, so I'd not be disappointed in that.
Is it greedy to ask for you to do all of them? Yes, it's greedy, sorry. Still, it's the dream!

Seas of the Damned
I think it's time for an aquatic monster theme chapter.

Seas of the Damned
damnit man so many good choices.

Seas of the Damned
nobody knows the danger the water holds

Addendum: I'll be setting a "Vote Goal" for each nominee.
If all nominees get past 25 votes, I'll draw up concepts for the Survivor and Killer.
If all nominees get past 50 votes, I'll draw up the icons for the Perks.
If all nominees get past 75 votes, I'll draw a full art of the Survivor and Killer.
If all nominees get past 100 votes, I'll (hate the fact that I'll have to) draw the concept of the map.
Of course, only the winning nominee will get these done, so again, choose wisely.
EDIT: Now instead of "a" nominee, it's "all nominees". If all nominees get to these goals, I'll do said goals for the winning vote.

Resident Evil 2
I already made a concept for Jack, but I'm interested to see what someone else could come up with, since in my opinion he has a lot of creative freedom with his power.

So far the leads are:
- Seas of the Damned with 6 votes
- The Thing with 5 votes
- And Persona with 4 votes
We're also coming close to the first "Vote Goal" of this poll. One more vote on anything will seal the deal with the art.
Also, just in case anyone's curious, in the event that the poll ends up in a tie, I will run a secondary poll that lasts 3 days that will be the definitive tie-breaker. If that is SOMEHOW also a tie, then I will just pick whichever chapter's more appealing for me.

The Thing
Here's my question:
Why are the Evil Within killer options the artist and the obscura? Why not The Keeper?? Personal opinion aside it seems to me that he's the most popularly requested killer pick from the franchise, and seems to fit the tone and theme of Dead By Daylight the best.
The Keeper was actually what got me interested in The Evil Within games and provoked a bunch of research into it.
Evil Within aside I'd really like more of an effort to be made to make The Thing a viable killer candidate beyond its shapeshifting ability, which would in all likelihood function as a secondary power that gives stealth. A chapter about The Thing would be absolutely magnificent.
Honorable mention is an original water/nautical-themed chapter, it's my most wanted original concept (although a firefighter killer comes close) for a long time now. A killer in a vintage scuba suit or old sailor or perhaps an old naval officer or even a pirate would be super cool.
Also there are so many options for a nautical themed map. "The Lighthouse", "The Docks" or "The Dockyard", "The Isle" or "The Island", it all sounds super cool.

My reason for Stefano w/Obscura over The Keeper is because of the fact that aside from The Keeper's ability to warp across areas by dying or killing itself and re-emerging in another safe head thing (which is already derivative of Hag and Nightmare), he has nothing else going for him.
Stefano and Obscura, meanwhile, would be more focused on Stefano's time pocket-based abilities and Obscura's progression-denial ability as a summonable partner to Stefano. While The Keeper is the most popular pick, he's also one of the least imaginative ones of the bunch (being more imaginative than Sadist and Laura, but less so than Ruvik, Theodore and definitely Stefano).

The Thing
While I respect the opinion, I kind of think about it the same way I think about Smash Ultimate, there are plenty of characters that now exist that people had doubts about whether or not they would work. I distinctly remember there was a semi-strong counter-movement of people who for some reason couldn't possibly fathom Ghostface in Dead By Daylight because "he's just a human!! What power would he even have?! He'd probably suck." and now he's unironically the best stealth killer out of them all in the roster. Similarly, I've also heard "What power would Leatherface have?? Hillbilly already has a chainsaw!!" in the past, and hell, even I had my doubts about a potential Nemesis pick because as far as I was aware he mostly used actual firearms as weapons and obviously we don't have guns in DBD so I was reasonably sure Nemesis wasn't going to be the RE representative.
The analogy with Smash Ultimate goes because Sakurai and the development team for that game have created absolutely superb movesets for some of the most mild characters that you wouldn't think would fit in a fighting game. Villager has never fought anything in Animal Crossing, it's just not that kind of game. Piranha Plant is literally an immobile plant that serves mostly as a low level base AI enemy character, and hell Captain Falcon has never actually stepped outside of his car in any of his racing games from F-Zero. Yet still they managed to create playable characters with movesets that are not only efficiently playable and decent in both casual and competitive play, but also movesets that are true to the characters themselves, their original source material, and the franchises that they come from.
Likewise, Dead By Daylight- as far as licensed characters go, have done their due diligence in creating characters that are true to form and faithful to the original source material. Although balance has always been a primary concern of the community in all the years DBD has existed, I think the fact these licensed characters have powers that fit is a good enough reference point for the frame of this particular conversation. It'd be very speculative and far too preemptive to discuss balance for a thing that isn't released yet.
My overall point being that there's no shortage of ideas at the devs disposal, either from their own team or from the community, to create a fitting kit for nearly any character, licensed or otherwise.
As for Stefano and the Obscura- the only thing I'll say about that is the Obscura suffers from the same issues as most of the radically imaginative ideas do- the obscura is a non-human / non-humanoid- and the devs wouldn't be able to re-use the same skeletal rig (which they often do for almost every single character) for animations. They'd have to create an entirely unique and separate rig for the one character that they likely wouldn't be able to repurpose for any other future content and it's apparently a sinkhole in terms of finances.
It's kind of a sucky reason to say no considering how successful the game is now 5 years later, but it's one that's held true for 5 years and this is the reason why we don't really see non-human / non-humanoid characters in DBD. It's the reason why we never got a spider-killer that the community requested all the way back in 2016 and since then. The demogorgon is the furthest they've gone but it's still got two arms and two legs and it's bipedal so it seemed to have been doable. The Obscura on the other hand has some really out-there characteristics with it's long camera neck, three legs, and contorted arms / other limbs which allowed it to crawl all over the place.
While it might be more unique- that uniqueness comes at a cost that we've never (or at least extremely rarely and in limited cases) seen the developers be willing to make.
EDIT: (And Yes. I am aware of the irony this presents considering I voted for The Thing which is just as out there as The Obscura- but the difference is I'm really hoping / banking on The Thing's well known popularity and significant contribution to the history of horror in film and its use of practical effects in film that the devs make an exception for The Thing.)
So The Keeper still seems to me like the best choice, though your mileage may vary.
