Now that the dust has settled it's time to admit the police station is a good map

It's a terrible map for a game like dbd, and it's not just because it's big, it's because it has a ######### ton of bullshit spots like the Library.

Looks good, but it's trash.

I only got to play it once and I liked it. I liked it a lot. I may be a little biased because I am a RE fan (favorite video game franchise). I found it funny that already being familiar with the police station from the franchise’s actual games, made it a little easier to navigate. I saw it mentioned somewhere before release and thought B.S, but was pleasantly surprised it was true. So that made me think, Silent Hill fans- how accurate is the High School?

Because it's a dumpster fire of a map. It looks great. Once again the art team did amazing work. From a game play stand point it's garbage though.

Just out of curiosity, why wait until "the DC penalty is back on"? Wouldn't it be enough to wait until the map is re-enabled?

I DC any time I get the map as killer or survivor. The fact that they made this map and thought “yeah this is a good map to release” is beyond me. I don’t think there will ever be a map as bad as this

I love the map, but to each of their own.

I actually like the map, not my favorite but not terrible.
But it's WAY too big.

My first experience on this map was a lonely one.

It actually got worse did you know there are vaults that are infinites(obviously 3 vaults blocks them) for m1 style killers. The hooks are horribly layed out so its impossible to find a hook at times. Ya they messed up bad. That being said the exit gates are well spread out for egf which is nice, trapper can do some silly stuff with locking down pathways which is nice for a killer who is largely the but of every dbd joke. I genuinely think the map design team need a word this is the third map in a row they messed it up. Ascetics is great but someone who knows how to play the damn game needs to point out the broken loops and vaults that make half of the killer rooster just terrible to play these maps. As per usual giant maps are bad for dbd less killer interaction between survivors is a major negative. Big maps makes map traversal a chore promotes mind numbing camping playstyles. Cope on dev team at this stage its deliberate or worse blatant incompetence.

As survivor ill appreciate knowing I have a map offering with a ton of god windows and god pallets all with guaranteed spawns to use like a survivor mori
As killer ill dc because its not a balanced map or fun map to play on
Id rather have either a fun map that's unbalanced, or a balanced map that might be lacking a bit on the fun but still gets the job done, before I want a map that is both unfun and unbalanced
im not getting into semantics on it but the map is flawed

The only time I got to play it was against a Hag. Since the map is a series of one-person-wide hallways that make her traps inescapable during a chase, she killed me very easily.
The way the map is structured is basically just HagWorld™

lol not even played it or seen it once in the rotation i cant say its good or bad

I’ve played it 4 times today. I’ve 4k’d on them with Bubba, Spirit, & Nurse. The map is just bad. All 4 games were as boring as they come. I think the general consensus is that the community enjoys its aesthetic, but despises the layout of it and even from someone who’s played RE2 like 6 times, it’s still too clustered to work with.

I don't know, that sounds fine to me. Also, how can something be too big and too small?

The issue people have with midwich is how its shape makes it hard for killers to cut corners. If a survivor presses W in the hallways, as a killer... you HAVE to press W. If a survivor is on a gen in the hallway, they can TYPICALLY see the killer as soon as they turn the corner on the opposite end of the hallway and just hold W, making it take FOREVER for the killer to catch up if they dont have some movement ability. Other maps allow killers to take alternate routes to cut them off in some way, but thats generally not possible with Midwich's hallways. The existence of the gens in the various classrooms is the big reason for alot of killer pressure on that map since it often cuts survivor LOS to JUST that classroom when they have to eventually work on those gens.
The comparison between this and the police station is just to point out that both maps generally lack alternate routing for chases. As killer, you typically have to utilize the same route as the person you're chasing, making it rather braindead boring in the chase department.

I’ve played it on live servers maybe like a dozen times by now and sure I get lost and all that but I honestly can’t say I hate it or anything like that. My opinion could change but I certainly don’t mind it so far. I struggled a bit with engraving Hillbilly but Trapper was quite nice. Balanced landing was a life saver more than once on that map as well.

legion's power is barely usable on the map, good luck getting to other survivors with the massive amounts of doorways and hallways blocking your way. my frames drop heavily on it (maybe it's just me), it's massive and very difficult to pressure. it's haddonfield tier imo.

The dust settled? The game is still unplayable. And the map is mostly unavailable.
