Why Survivors are not Using Cake Offerings?

I did not played killer so much for this event. I wanted use cakes on Leon before P3 him and i took all crowns on all survivors. Anyway now i am playing killer and on my matches i am seeing max 3 cakes (with my cake). Just why? You can use this cakes with only this event and time limited. Why survivors are not using cake offerings?

You can use the event offerings whenever you want, they're not time limited. People are more than likely just saving them for actual worthwhile events like double bloodpoints.

In my experience, a lack of cakes means survivors tend to DC if they decide they don't like the killer.

Well, i saw some killers did not used cake too but on most of my survivor games killers used cake.

Once again putting survivors and killers against each other...

The question should say "people" not "survivors"

Because in my experience, survivors and killers are using cakes the same amount.

This is not killers and survivors against each other. Grind is so boring in this game. And event is limited with time. So i just wanna max points i can take. But when someone are not use cake, this is just annoying.

Survivors get way less cakes than killers. During the event i leveled both survivor and killer from 1-50, on the survivor i got 10 cakes and on the killer like 60 or something. And tbh for solo survivors it's almost pointless to drop cakes when theres a DC almost every round and you just get destroyed in a 1v3.

So yeah, the lack of cakes for survivors and the current DC situation make the event kinda mehh.

Broken game? Saving for actuall bp event where they will get to use those? Or even lack of it in bloodweb as some players experienced

A lot of this can be because less cakes appear on the survivor blood webs, probably as they have Event items as well. I've been in a few matches were survivors have used cake offerings but not many where all the players have one.

I have just started backing out of games if I'm the killer and I'm the only one throwing a cake out.

I get that cakes don't spawn as often for survivors but do you know what I do if I'm a survivor but didn't get a cake? Use BPS.

I have tweaked all my builds to get rid of my "killing" perks (like Blood Warden) as I'm taking my foot off the gas in this event and trying to get everyone some wonderful points but if you're not going to do your part and make it worth my while, I can kill 20 seconds waiting for a new game and you can play Lobby Simulator again. I'll find (at least) one other survivor in another match quickly enough who is using a cake for everyone.

It sucks that there are killers who are specifically going out of their way to ruin the event (not just playing normal, which I feel is absolutely understandable, but maliciously attempting to ruin the event for people) but unfortunately that's kind of the gamble you have to take in a multiplayer game. You can hold onto your cakes but I feel like you're running the same exact risk later (as we hear plenty of stories about people using BPS/Cakes outside of events and killers being jerks about it). Ultimately it is your call but you'll lose out on a "nice" killer during the event if no one is using their damn cakes.

I'm just trying to get all the crowns, so I don't have cakes with every character. I use the best BP offerings I have though if it's not a cake.

I am getting matches with three cakes average, and several with five cakes.

You know, this might be a big clue that perhaps the event items and the event cakes should be in different tables, so that survivors don't get screwed with regards to the number of cakes that show up.

Got hundreds but wont use them, would rather discard them than use them. The less cakes the better the games.

Yeah as many others have already stated, survivors get access to far less cakes then Killers thanks to all the event items they have to deal with. It would be nice to know if at least one node in every blood web was dedicated to cakes.

I'm not entirely sure how that's worth any more than using cakes now

Ive been throwing cakes every game. First 2 days i saw 4-5 cakes.

Now I'm seeing 2-3 (including mine) for both sides. It could be people did what they wanted to do and want to save cakes now.

However I am now seeing longer queue times for killer. I couldn't even get into a match yesterday morning, but survivor was almost instant. I don't mind, but I get more BP consistently as killer.

Unlucky game. I don't understand why people sweating so much if everyone wanna play normal.

  • Freddy96
    Freddy96 Member Posts: 767

Cuz killers sweat their butts to get 4k when the difference between 8 hooks and 12 hooks is minimal so survivors are most likely to use cakes while on full swf

Survivors are not bringing cakes, that's so rude...

The spawn rate is so atrocious and it eats up all the bp I do get just trying to get through a single web.

Had no issues last year using my cakes, this year they are just so damned sparse.

Because I don't feel like giving the killer 200k bloodpoints when they inevitably camp me. I feel bad for the killers who don't do that -- but the ones who do (and it's way more frequent during this event than during normal play) are ruining it for them.

I'd say the average amount of cakes I see no matter what I play is somewhere around 3, which is pretty solid.

Survivors have a harder time running cakes constantly as they have more event quality items competing with them in event nodes in the bloodweb. Especially if we assume they're doing level 50 bloodwebs.

I 50/50 (and with the Fourth of July weekend giving me plenty of time to play during the day when killer queues are nutter butters and survivor queues are instant, it's probably more 80/20 survivor side right now) so I am well aware of the pain that is getting the damn cakes for the survivor side.

In those instances though, I use BPS or something of that nature. If you've got nothing, you've got nothing but my post was more to people who were flat out refusing to use their cakes rather than survivors who literally have nothing they can offer up.

No point wasting cakes when people are DCing for anything now that the penalty is disabled. I'll throw them out when the penalty is back again.

I spent 315,000 BP to get ONE cake on Yun-Jin.

I just went through five bloodwebs and only got ONE cake on my P3 Nea.

We aren't getting them nearly as much as killers are, and in my experience, far more survivors bring them in than killers. I've been seeing way more ebony moris than usual, which is a nice little FU from killers. I'm not bringing in cake when most killers just camp and tunnel anyway.

They seem to be incredibly rare for survivors; it seems its any anniversary item and cakes arent guarenteed

    Several reasons...

    1) Survivor bloodwebs do not generate very many cakes. Last night when doing 3 man swf, i used all the cakes I got ... which was 1 in 5 blood webs.

    2) I save the cakes for when I am playing with friends to maximize my return of bloodpoints. (normally)

    3) Killers playing against solo queue, seem more harsh than normal. Slugging for the 4k at 5 gens. Extreme tunnelling, where the first 2 dead amass less than 4k bloodpoints.

I even got hard facecamped to death by a demogorgon last night. He stood 1 meter in front me and kept starting to teleport and cancelling over and over. Fortunately, I just told my SWF mates to bury him in generators which they did admirably. The 3 escaped, as I was dying. Sadly I had used the one cake I got that match.

personally i'm not using them because i dont have any.

im currently trying to collect all the crowns, so im forced to play a lot of my level one Survivors.

in addition to that, i havent put points into Survivor ever since the Hallowed Blight event, mainly because i already have all that i need in terms of Perks, i dont play Survivor a whole lot and i am kind of busy maxing out all my killers rn.

The difference between 8 hooks and 12 hooks is 4 kills. How is that minimal?

Just because theres a event, it doesnt mean you have to let survivors escape.

Because having 5 cakes offered and then getting a Killer who camps/tunnels/slugs the whole team isn't really interesting. I did offer them gladly but after getting a few bad matches against *bad word* Killers I will now gladly save them for when the event ends and there are less Killers which means better and nicer Killers.

Played five games today and not a single killer brought a cake. One brought pudding though.

Edit In one game out of eight I had one killer bring them. Survivors have brought at least one cake in all games except one.

I'm assuming it has to do with the fact that survivors get WAY less cakes than killers do.

Its becuz of the way people are playing at the moment. Most killers are just camping and tunnel ruining the event for others. I personally wouldn't bring a cake until the this ends or when the event passes by.

They should be usable even after the event. I am waiting for a lobby as Pyramid Head right now, with a 4th anniversary cake since he doesn't have the 5th one, so my guess would be yes, they will be usable even after the event.

I feel this image represents the community more for this event.

Players in a certain role are playing very selfish. I finished my crowns for Survivors and switched to Killers. I got Gen rushed in 1 match out of the eight I did. It was my first match of Killer and they straight up left each other on the hook to advance stages to pop the gens fast. Killer side has it so much easier in this event. Crowns aren't remotely difficult to get and Killers earn a lot more BPs.

I went through 15 blood webs for a single cake earlier. To then have the risk of either teammates dc’ing or me getting kicked out of a game when I’m at 99% opening an exit gate after a good game. It’s not worth the bp to get them if they’re going to go to waste.

I have also seen more survivors bring cake than killers. Says all it needs to about what seems like a large majority of killers this event. Absolutely toxic. I’m not spending my BP helping a killer out who gets more bp a match anyway.

I've been playing it like this: first match of the day I will play a cake. if the killer brings on the sweat and I get less than 10k BP then I put my cakes away. If I get a decent match or 2 then I put the cakes back on. if it's end game and I have the glitter of finding a crown pillar and get sacrificed then I'm done with cakes for the day.

I'm not spending my bloodpoints to reward inconsiderate sweat lords, and that's mostly what I've been facing this whole event. I can hang onto these until the killer community calms down
