Auto-ban feature
I heard they have an auto-ban feature in the works. Once somebody has been reported a certain amount of times, they might get banned. But, c'mon, there are people that will report you for simply just playing the game. People will report you for literally anything and some of them claim they have contact with the developers and can surely get you banned. The developers do realize how toxic and unreasonable this community can be, right?
What do you guys think about this feature?

There were a lot of threads created on this when it was first announced. Pretty much this site was in an uproar with concern, and understandably so. I personally believe the devs are fully aware of everything you mentioned above and will keep that in mind when designing the auto ban algorithm. So in other words, I think you will have to be reported an egregious amount, in X amount of time. For example, 50 times in 2 hours. Now our community isn’t THAT toxic to submit that many false reports on one person Lmao.

I mean, there are 4 survivors per match, thats only 10 matches for 40 reports...

they need to take a look at the way dota does it
in dota, theres limited reports per week that you get so people are inclined to not waste their reports on trivial things.
on top of that, each person has a "weight" to their report that is taken into account in the calculation to punish someone or not. the more false reports you make, the less impact your report has up to a point where if you keep making false reports, your reports basically weigh nothing. the weight system is also taken into account when you have shown that you are reliable in making positive reports on people and your reports will weigh more in the calculation.
then even on top of that, if anyone is in a party or with friends, their reports only count as 1 report. so big groups cant harass a single person

Right, and this goes back to what I said- you would need EVERYONE to false report you and let’s be honest, thats not realistic. If 40 strangers reported you in 2 hours, then you deserved to be banned. Especially if they all flag you for cheating. That’s too coincidental. Even with SWF sprinkled in. But keep in mind that’s just an example I made up to paint a picture. The actual system may and most likely give more wiggle room to account for false reports. I think it’ll be fine. No different from the false reports you get from butthurt players on PSN and XBN after you beat em.

The automatic part ofthe mentioned system is not directly related to bans but to flag an account for inspection by a human.
So a huge amount of reports simply marks the account to get looked into.
Nobody is getting auto banned.

Well, considering how other things worked out when they were first released, i´m afraid a lot of people will get some kind of timeout or something. Simply of the sheer amount of reports. Even when a human has to hit the button.

It's not unrealistic at all. Almost every single red rank game as killer that you win, you get ######### talked in end game chat. If this auto ban feature was enabled, do you not think these salty survivors would NOT abuse it?

With the number of players purposely D/Cing I actually can't wait for this feature to come out.

We know nothing about the feature except for the fact that it exists in a concept. I highly highly doubt that the devs would legitimately make a feature that would automatically ban somebody just for getting reports that weren't even looked into. None of us can claim what it does and we're all freaking out for nothing.
What seems more realistic is that once you get enough reports somebody will then look at those reports and make a decision, it most likely won't automatically ban you.
