What do you look for when it comes to DBD content creators?

Regarding watching content creators for DBD, I just wanted to ask some questions to gain knowledge on a few things

  1. What kind of content do you look for? Educational, entertainment, compilations, latest news or something else?
  2. Who are your favourite content creators and why? They can be big or small.
  3. How long do you watch a video for OR what's your preferred video length?
  4. If you watch streams, how long do you watch a stream for?
  5. For videos, do you prefer watching survivor content, killer content or both?
  6. If you watch streams, do you prefer watching survivor content, killer content or both?
  7. Out of the content creators you watch, who's video thumbnails do you like the most?

I might make another post in the future if I have any more questions, but these are a good start

    I prefer variety. If I can find someone that does news, tips and tricks, and has entertaining matches, I would be in heaven.

    I watched a lot of OTZ to learn the game a bit before getting into it. Otherwise I mostly watch salt videos from Spook and Jukes and Potato Legion. I enjoy Scott Junds more discussion based content.

    Video length is kind of irrelevant. Otz uploaded like a 7 hour video recently that I might watch and Spook uploaded a 1 and a half minute clip today. So... Anything goes when it comes to me. I suppose my preference is 20 to 30 minutes.

    No streams for me.

    Killer content, 100%. I would only watch survivor play to see how the killer interactions look from their perspective.

    Hmm... Now that you mention it, thumbnail game is real weak from the videos I am watching.

    Honestly I just look for people who don't cry about killers or survivors, this game is riddled with both sides crying about the other and when people who have 1000's of hours don't rise above that ######### it makes me cringe into another dimension, other than that I look for some gameplay with some game health opinions and conversations.

    I'll watch either side if you can make it entertaining.

    I look for entertainment, lore videos, and funny jukes.

    Paulie, pixelbushentertainment, Samination, Noob03, and Theking. I have a few more but I don't remember everyone´s names.

    I don't care about the length.

    I don't watch streams.

    If it's a gameplay video I prefer watching survivor, if it's a lore video it can be both.

    Don't watch streams.

    Paulie's, all his thumbnails have a funny joke.

    So many “content creators” and I put that in quotes because the only true creators are the software engineers, intentionally depip to face easy opponents.

    Take note of how some cut out the endgame screen.

    5) Don't care, so long as they can carry any downtime

    6) Ditto

    7) Scott's recent drawings

    Humor, a bit of edge, someone that doesn't think "penguins of doom" is funny, generally good knowledge of the game, anything where Jund gets Spund.

    1. The less whining the better. I dislike streamers who complain too much, and also those that scream a lot;
    2. RedsGamingGears and Anaxandra are the only ones I watch nowadays, both are very chill and stream at the only free time I have;
    3. 15~30 minutes at max.
    4. I watch while doing college activites that don't require much thought, so it depends on these. It can be anything between half an hour to 4 hours;
    5. Killer. Survivor gameplay is too boring to watch;
    6. Same thing;
    7. I don't really care about thumbnails, but I dislike those that put those huge red circles and arrows everywhere.

    1: Entertainment with a side of logic (ie, them discussing why they make certain decisions while they play). I like the glimpse into their thoughts.

    2: Scott, Zubat, Demi, & Yerv

    3: 5-10 minutes. Longer is okay, but I'll usually watch that stuff in spurts over several days.

    4: I don't watch a lot of streams. Don't care much about the "raw" footage that you see there.

    5: Both, because I play and enjoy both roles.

    6: I'll defer this back to the answer for #4.

    7: Scott and Demi both usually have S+ Thumbnails.

    JRM, Noob3, Sweh because all of them so good survivor mains and fun.

    Otz because he is really so good killer main. I learned so much because of him and he really cares this game and community. I am respecting him.

    I generally prefer edutainment. I want to see a match play out but I also want to learn how and why things are done, see how other people are doing things different from what I would do. Pick up some neat tricks on occasion from a personality I like.

    TrU3Ta1ent and Gawr Gura Ch. hololive-EN are pretty good, the latter isn't dedicated to just Dead by Daylight though and if you haven't seen one or the other they're both worth checking out. TrU3 really scratches my analytical itch but just seeing killer through the eyes of someone that's just playing the game fresh and not doing a gimmicky build can be really useful for my own games.

    If I'm playing the game I like 10-15 minute videos and I'll usually tab out and watch them while I'm in queue and pause when necessary. If I'm watching a stream and it doesn't have a lot of visual gags you can just listen to them like a podcast until you're ready to look back at the screen. Definitely not a fan of the screechers. I get that they have their appeal but if you're not watching the screen and someone's going 'HUWHAT!? WAT!? WOOOW.' and you tab in and the moment has passed then...bleh.

    I'm mixed on what kind of streams I like with a bias towards killer content. I can watch other survivors in game but when I'm playing survivor I can only see the killer when I'm going toe to toe with him. You don't see a whole lot of the wandering and such. Seeing new and experienced killers and watching how they play gives me an idea of what to expect and look for when I get people interrupting my skillcheck simulator.

    I can't say I've ever clicked on a video because of its thumbnail, since I'm really just there for the content therein but a cute thumbnail can set the mood. Put you at ease for the slaughterfest you're about to watch. You know, just Dbd things.

    It's complicated.

    But usually they have to have a personality that I like, a voice that I can stand to listen to, and they need to be honest or at least seemingly honest because in the end I don't really know any of them.

    Whatever else comes with them is a bonus, like them being educational and all that.
