When to use Decisive Strike?

I'm playing solo queue so I wouldn't know what my teammates are running.

What's the general rule of thumb of when to use DS??

I'm guessing it would be a waste if I was the 1st person hooked and gens still needed to be done. Is DS something that you are supposed to save more towards the mid/end stages of the match?

DS can be used whenever you want basically. If you're concerned about a killer tunneling you off your first hook then hit that skill check. If not, let the skill check cycle and save it for your 2nd unhooking / more for end game. Borrowed Time from a teammate though can hopefully prevent early game tunneling. I think using DS super early in a match is a big waste which leads me to the next point:

DS is basically a guaranteed escape in the end game and you can actually open exit gates without it deactivating which is crazy. Definitely save it for after the last gen pop if possible but beware of moris or Pyramid Head as they can ignore DS but yeah there isn't much a killer can do if you have DS and the last gen pops and you're in a good position with the exit gates

I always try to save mine for the endgame, if you're hooked nearby an exit you’re going to escape 100% ( unless you miss it like I always do)

Decisive strike is used for anti-tunneling if your teammates decided to unhook you without Borrowed Time or the killer continues to chase you after BT has ran out due to either the killer waiting BT out or the killer has already hit you and BT activates.

Personally I would not use DS at my first hook state, but rather when I am at my second hook state as it is the time when your most vulnerable and the 60 second immunity is reassuring.

However it could also backfire if the killer has a mori, see what offerings the killer might have and use DS accordingly whether early or late game.

Using DS early can also allow you to not reach the second hook state instead remaining at the first until the killer decides to go for you to which they most likely will. It allows your teammates time to do gens, totems, position themselves if they have flashlights, and saving you from the hook.

Endgame nothing is more satisfying then having a free escape card. Don't try to force it and waste it.

yep, it's best used to save until end game or on death hook if you can.

other wise you gonna get tunneled just so you can't use it then. well if your going against me you will...

I lol'd at this. I can just imagine the disappointment as you're put on death hook.

Asap anytime the killer gets hit by D's it swings the match's momentum in the survivors favor. Plus you'll really kick yourself if you save it then it runs out after second hook
