What is your favorite Chapter?
Greetings survivors, killers, and both-siders of the Fog! I hope this thread finds you doing well.
So, we all know that things are not exactly in a very good state right now. A recycled event filled with toxic players, paired with countless performance issues on console can make the game difficult to enjoy. And this is without mention the most recent PTB, which I don't even have the proper words to describe.
To help easy my mind a little bit, I decided to take a moment and think about the fun and interesting things DBD still has to offer, and it didn't take long for its many Chapters to come into my mind. For better or for worse, new chapters never fail to amaze us, giving us new characters to play as, new scenarios for our trials and new perks to collect.
And that is what brings us to the question I have for you tonight:
What is your favorite Chapter?
As someone who mains Quentin as survivor and Freddy as killer, my answer should be very obvious, but my favorite is the A Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter. Currently, its content is not very impressive. However, on release it was the best and most unique chapter in Dead by Daylight's history, in my honest opinion. It came with a perfect killer, an interesting survivor and a nice map.
But enough about me, for I would like to hear it from you. Perhaps your favorite is a chapter which you've bought right on release. Maybe it had just released when you first started playing. Or maybe you don't even have a favorite.
I appreciate your answers, and as always: see you in the Fog!

I think the Spirit/Adam chapter was my favorite. That could also be because that was the peak of me playing and having fun in this game. Like when I was improving a lot and I decided that I was going to 50/50 Killer and Survivor. ( I was a tOxIC Nea main lol)

Cursed Legacy.
Oni is still my favorite killer visually and Yui is cool.
1 -
I started playing when the plague chapter game out, i thought she was so cool and gross and scary. and i remember for the longest time i didnt know head on was a perk and i kept trying to stun the killer cause i thought it was just a game mechanic, oh i miss the days of being innocent and new sometimes
1 -
I'm sure this will be a very unpopular pick, but Darkness Among Us.
Legion was the killer that got me into the game, and Jeff is a pretty cool survivor. Ormond can go piss off, though.
3 -
Shattered Bloodline, then? Well, I most certainly understand your choice here.
Sometimes, what makes a chapter good is not exactly its content, but how we were when it released. For example: Darkness Among Us is often regarded as a very bad chapter, but it a special meaning to me as I first started playing DBD two weeks after its release.

A very interesting choice, if I do say so myself. No wonder Yui is the only survivor of the newer cast that I took to P3.
0 -
That was actually a good one too. The map isnt a fan favorite, but I don't mind it at all. I think Legion is actually good, just every killer has different play styles, and people don't tend to like ones that arent clear cut. Jeff is cool too, but I rarely use his perks.

Truth be told, Demise of the Faithful was indeed a good chapter. It was the first one that I actually saw on release, and I still remember how interesting my first trials against the Plague were.
0 -
Despite how unpopular it is, I can definitely understand that. This chapter has a special meaning to me, due to the fact that I first started playing DBD two weeks after its release.
1 -
Ignoring the bugs it would be the Re chapter with Silent Hill being the second one.
0 -
Most people in the community would disagree. As I've said it isn't my favorite, but it does have a special meaning.
0 -
Well, what truly matters here is the chapter's content, so ignoring the bugs is totally fine :)

i still enjoy playing plague, im glad they added the pool to start because it got annoying when good survivors would just not cleanse all game youre just a puking tall lady

I don't know, I just remember all of Cursed Legacy fondly. Oni is one of my favorite killers. While none of the perks were amazing, I think they all have their neat uses.
While I don't use her very often, I like Yui's design. I find both Yui's and Oni's lore fascinating.
A close second would be Descend Beyond for a lot of the same reasons.

Stranger Things for the absolute hype of the possibility of two survivors a chapter from now on, both Fixated and Inner Strength as some of my favorite perks, and Steve "The Hair" Harrington.
Edit: Somehow forgot to mention I was a huge fan of the show at the time, recently finished the latest season when the chapter was announced as well so that just added to my hype.

I never played much as the Plague, to be honest. Managed to get her adept eventually, but that was about it.
Well, it is good that you remember it fondly. Your favorite chapter should be the one who is special to you.
Perhaps Cursed Legacy is to you what A Nightmare on Elm Street is to me.

I remember when its trailer dropped, and how quickly I clicked that YouTube notification.
Honestly, I don't like the chapter very much, but I definitely understand where you are coming from.

Man, the silent hill chapter was hyped to hell and back, and it seemed to live up to all the expectations. PH was as great to play as he looked on the PTB. Brought me back to the game after I'd sworn it off for months. Cheryl was great. Midwich... I still hate it from a gameplay perspective, but outside of gameplay, it's absolutely fantastic. I'm more of an RE fan than a silent hill fan, so I'm a bit disappointed with what we got recently
Honorary mention for Cursed Legacy. All around great original chapter

Halloween for me. Big fan of the movies.
I love Mikey and he's been my main as killer for over three years. No killer has as many fun builds and play styles to me as him. Vault master Myers, jump scare Myers, scream for Myers, low terror radius Myers etc. I've never got bored of him. In terms of lore in the game, Michael really is the purest form of evil that even the Entity cannot fully control him. Hence why Mikey can give the middle finger to the Entity and tombstone survivors. Entity displeased? Pfffffttt the boogeyman kills for himself.
He brought two good perks to the game in STBFL and PWYF.
In regards to Laurie, her visual design in terms of her face has never been great, but they have recently fixed that. But even before she was always the ultimate final girl to me. Nobody deserves a place in the fog as a survivor (aside from Dweet) more than Laurie. She's the definition of a survivor in how she held her own against the boogeyman. Her perks are mostly garbage, apart from DS, which in its current form is one of the healthiest perks in the game now.

Yeah, your profile picture told me everything before I even read your comment :)
I am sorry for you that the RE Chapter ended being a disappointment. And, truth be told, I kinda know how it is. A Nightmare on Elm Street on release is definitely the best for me, but nowadays its content is not that great.
1 -
And a good choice that is! I believe the Halloween Chapter is one of the few which the entire community loves.
1 -
Yeah, I can imagine that was a bit of a bummer when they reworked Freddy. Would be nice if they made a brown add-on or something that would allow you to play the older version of the killer. Would not exactly cause any balance issues in this case

Both Binding of Kin and All-Kill.
Aside the bugs/issues Binding of Kin brought, both chapters brought interesting characters that I adore especially the twins <3
1 -
Don't even remind. Sadly I still remember my first match with reworked Freddy: I was disheartened and everything felt wrong. It was a victory, but it didn't feel like one.
I would do anything to get my main back.
Wow...now here is some unexpected choices!
2 -
I have 2 fav chapters actually. This is reason:
Nightmare chapter! It was hard to believe but when i see i really felt excited. Freddy, one of the best slashers will join game and i love him movies. He is one of best killers. And him concept in game, gave me feels, "Yes i am playing with real devil, this is clearly Freddy!"
Curtain Call Chapter. I was not playing survivor so much and i was Meg main. But when i saw Kate with this chapter, i wanted buy for her. She was cute and her style and lore was interesting. I thought i found my main survivor and i really did. I am playing with Kate 3 years.
But i wanna talk for Halloween Chapter too. It has best trailer. Myers, Haddonfield, Laurie... Everything about this trailer gives me good feels (nostalgia). This trailer was best DbD trailer ever for me.
1 -
And I agree completely with you in here. ANOES is, by far, my favorite chapter and Curatin Call is very good too.
As for Halloween, well, I don't think there is a single soul in the community who dislikes it.
0 -
Mmmm hard question honestly.
My favorite chapter is cursed legacy because I love oni.
But I think silent hill chapter is also amazing but just because I am a silent hill nerd so it is extremely hard to actually give my favorite answer.
1 -
This was the only chapter I played, so as bad as the performance is, and as lackluster as the event is... S.T.A.R.S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 -
Yeah, it is an amazing feeling when a franchise you already love is in the game. That is how I felt when I discovered that Freddy Krueger was a killer in DBD.
Being here for a Chapter Release is always interesting, I would say.
1 -
Silent hill I'm a fan of the series and I love all the perks and cosmetics from the chapter
1 -
Just like me and ANOES, then.
Except that it doesn't have cosmetics, but that's fine.
1 -
Mine is a toss up between Demise of the Faithful and Silent Hill.
0 -
Interesting. ANOES is unmatched for me, but I would say that The Saw Chapter is a very close second.
0 -
100% it just feels amazing seeing a franchise you love being added into a game you also love and hate at the same time.
0 -
Well, I didn't hate it back then because I hadn't bought it yet, but I get the feeling you are talking about :)
When I first learned about DBD's existence, thanks to a friend, I did some research and that is when I found out that Freddy was in the game. Bought it one month later.

Old Freddy as much as I sucked using him I miss his old power so much.
So you also found it because of a friend, niiiiice, same thing here.
2 -
So do I, my friend. So do I.
I really miss my old main and would do anything to get him back, preferably his on-release version. But even if he was to return the exact same way he was prior to his rework it would be good enough for me.
He deserves another chance. Old Freddy mains deserve another chance.
And hey, nice to know that you also found it thanks to a friend! I was actually playing Friday the 13th of said friend of mine. It was actually a very boring match, so we just kept talking about some random stuff and when I asked him about game recommendations he mentioned DBD.
The good ole' days, back in November of 2018. I actually got DBD on Christmas:
2 -
100% it would be demise of the faithful. I really liked jane and plague, and they came with some of the best and most fun perks in the game, the only thing i dislike is temple of purgation.
also, if i remember correctly their chapter was relatively bug free
2 -
Well, if I did run across some bugs when it released I genuinely do not recall it.
0 -
It was Darkness Among us but I also really enjoyed Oni's chapter, sanctum of wrath is a beautiful map, yui is a pretty cool survivors, especially her p3 and Oni is my main so well ofc I simp for him.
2 -
But there's so many good ones!
My favourites include:
- Halloween Chapter
- Silent Hill Chapter
- Cursed Legacy
- Descend Beyond
Well those were my instincts anyway haha
Halloween is probably my favourite because I'm a Laurie Main and I love the franchise :)

#bringbackoldfreddy
A friend of mine was watching some dbd streamer, can't remember who, I started watching dbd when Pig was released but never wanted to play it until a friend gifted me the game on ps4, that is when I started, raged quit for a while then came back until today.

I have a favorite license and favorite original
My favorite license is Resident Evil, it was SAW for the longest time and it's still one of the best in my heart, however I love playing Nemesis and a good portion of the perks released are some of my favorite releases in a while: Eruption, Lethal Pursuer, Blast Mine, Flashbang, and Rookie Spirit.
My favorite original has to go to Cursed Legacy with Oni and Yui. It was the first chapter to release after I started playing and it was one killer of a chapter. Oni is fun and Yui has some interesting perks.
2 -
For quality, last breath.
For nostalgia, shattered bloodline.
For overall most hype, silent hill.
1 -
Darkness among us and all kill I love legion and trickster so much that they gotta be my favourite chapter. Not a crazy amount of content but I like the killers a lot and ormond is my favourite map to look at not to play
1 -
Demise of The Faithful is probably my favourite chapter too.
1 -
I only started playing last August, so ill give 2 answers; one on my experience and then general chapters since I own most killers.
Personal: A Binding of Kin: Twins' story was so sad between Charlotte and Victor. Probably 2nd to only Spirit. Elodie seemed like an Indiana Jones and I enjoy her overall style. Perk wise I enjoy Oppression and Deception.
General: Spark of Madness. Doctor is my main and one of my favorite maps Lerys. There's no upstairs gens like in Midwich, its small enough for Jump Scare Myers to do great, and general aesthetic is creepy. Even Feng gave us Lithe which is a great exhaustion perk imo
1 -
Fair enough. It is always nice when a licensed Chapter stays true to its franchise.
Currently, ANOES fails to do that. But on release, on release it was simply perfect.
Ah, a fellow Darkness Among Us enjoyer, I see.
Perhaps that Chapter is not as hated as I thought it was.
Interesting Choices! If I had to make a list, I guess it would look like this:
-A Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter
-The Saw Chapter
-Halloween Chapter
-Spark of Madness Chapter

Around the time Pig released? Wow, you've been playing for longer than I have, my friend :)
And yes:
#GiveUsBackOldFreddy
I must say, it is unexpected to see someone mention Resident Evil, especially after everything that has happened, but I do understand where you are coming from here.
The Last Breath, huh? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Now that I think about it, DBD's very first Chapter was easily one of the best.
I am surprised your favorite isn't Curtain Call :)
Spark of Madness is definitely my favorite original Chapter, so I have to agree with you on that one.
Though I must say I used to like it much more than I currently do. Doctor's old power and Old Lery's are things that I miss.
1 -
Does leatherface count as episode? If so, its my favourite.
