Maps are unfair for both sides
I am not even talking about midwich or haddionfiled they are ######### for killer but devs don't care ı wanna focus on a reworked map which is the thompson house this map is reworked and still suck map itself has a huge dead zone my point is even the reworked one is suck why they don't care about we are talking about maps in my opinion ''just as a start'' they should change midwich,haddionfield,thomson house,gidoen meat plant(or we can say it the pallet heaven)and shelter woods.I think these maps need changes immideatly cuz no matter how the rng is they are unfair

Only a few maps from the reworks had significant core issues fixed. Mainly Ormond.

Map balance is one the biggest issues in the game and it continues to go unaddressed. They are really bad at the gameplay aspect of maps.

Some maps actually got worse after the rework namely campell’s chapel

ı apprecite the reworks as visual they are better but if the map is not fun to play there is no point of doing such a rework so now thompson house is just a better looking ######### map that's all they should ve done sometihng about it when they first started to rework on that map ı hope we ll see other reworks being more than just visual updates just like a said before starting of those maps for sure

I feel like Ormond is the only map that is actually fair after the rework

Disturbed Ward is nowhere near as bad as it once was, same with Gas Heaven, closing off two of the windows was a good change.

Disturbed Ward got filled with filler loops and junk to hide in, and the main building was buffed by often spawning 3 pallets and having walls buff already-existing god windows.
It's actually easier to play now than it was before they removed the two main building pallet spawns that they've mostly returned.

Gas heaven has a god window if it on the front of the building. Also they didn't change as much on gas heaven but to place breakable walls on the main building

Personally the only map rework I have ever liked is lerys the others are garbage

So as far as ı can undesrtand we are all agree with this fact I mean haven't seen anybody sayying maps are good for game's healt(talking about the maps said earlier) why devs don't do smt about it then? reworked one is just visual rework and haddionfield still exist etc.

I just had a match at suffocation pit and at the middle 2 TL and a long jungle gym was connected how the hell am ı suppose to catch someone in there littreally there was no right way to chase 3 connected gyms???

The map balance of this game is truly agonizing. it should NOT be a facet of your game for players to load in on one of the maps and all collectively roll their eyes as they prepare for an unfun match.

So I've been playing this game again after a long ass break...and the map balance, or lack of it, is one of the two things really annoying me atm. (The other being the fact that when I play killer I'm routinely placed against survivors that are 10 ranks ahead of me)
The maps generally seem to favour one side considerably, especially due to the lighting. I'm not sure if it's worse because of HDR, if so I will have to try to find out how to disable it for dbd. I know you can't change brightness settings in game. Some of the maps are so dark I can't maintain a chase with a survivor. And they are able to hide in a bush or corner somewhere without me ever spotting them. On the other hand some are so bright that it's easy as hell as a killer to chase survivors.
