Sadly this event encourages some really bad, toxic and unfun playstyles

  • My first 5 matches were:

1 - three person game as one person didn’t make it into the game, camping tunneling killer

2 - another three person game another camping tunneling killer

3 - game loaded for about 5 minutes then booted me to post game screen

4 - all four survivors made it in, tunneling killer

5 - only three survivors again, tunneling killer

Luckily the next few went decent even though the killers were still tunneling. Holy ######### Sloppy Butcher seems to be the new meta.

Im not a fan of this event style in terms of the BP bonus. If you have characters at level 50, you have to spend a massive amount of BP to generate a new web and get another event offering. Let us play the offerings to spawn more hooks and nectar things but give everyone the bonus regardless of whether they play the offering or not.

I can agree with you OP. Most of my killer games survivor wants to farm. I try to play normally but I let everyone escape just so it doesn't devolve into DC'ing.

When survivors walk up to me wanting to farm if I don't do it some of them just DC or suicide ruining the game for others who don't want to farm so to an extent I have no choice because I don't want to ruin the other survivors games. Specially with how grindy this event is. Even knowing I can easily just not farm and kill them if they DC I can't get my hooks.

I feel like there would be a lot less DC's or farming if the vial cap didn't exist. That's just me though.

Admittedly though my normal games in red ranks I haven't had to run ruin. If they're testing the waters for a second objective I'd say it works out pretty well. Although outside of the event if they add an objective like nectar they'd have to have a good incentive to harvest it.

I was really excited for the event and really like the skins and bonus objectives all that but I have to say that this event also encourages bad, toxic, and unfun playstyles.

The main problem: You can't get normal games anymore.

As a survivor, my fellow survivors just want to get their serum gathered ASAP. They don't unhook or do gens until they gathered everything.

After that they want to die as quickly as possible and move on to the next game and gather new serum. Until they die they just farm each other off the hook, try to rescue themselves and then don't struggle.

It's really, really bad if you ask me.

As a killer I can't get normal games either. I let survivors get their serums 3 or 4 games but after that it just gets boring because everyone expects you to farm and if you don't do that they just dc...

In my opinion this event was not really thought out. While having side objectives is nice, previous events didn't encourage this sort of behaviour.

What do you think and what are your experiences with the event so far?

It was a bad idea to give everyone an individual score. All nektar that is collected until you die should count towards your phial progress, similarly to how the previous event works.

Hmm. I haven't experienced this much.

    Not that I would care.

And the best part: I have 50+ offerings left and all vials completed on survivor and I can't harvest any more plants. I have to rely on my teammates to harvest so I get bloodpoints. If all 4 survivors have maxed out on vials (which a lot of people already have) the event is completely useless and just wasts your bloodpoints with useless addons.

I can kind of see why they did that to an extent because the event plants are not shared for survivors but that's still a bit unfair. I haven't played survivor yet since event so that's good to know.

With just a few minor changes this event could have been as mechanically pleasing as it is visually pleasing. If they just made it so survivors don't share the harvest from a plant and everyone had a the ability to get serum from them then people wouldn't "hard focus" finding plants right off the bat because they could simply worry about it after gens. If they also allowed players to get serum even after a vial was full then people wouldn't kill themselves to farm it faster. If they allowed points to be gathered from burning the offering after you got all your vials then people would still use offerings.

Simple changes that would have made the event far less frustrating. I play survivor solo and even though I'd love to participate in this event I'm doing so because I want the cosmetics and not because I'm having fun. Honestly I'm not sure its even worth wasting time I could be spending playing something I enjoy.
